"Good afternoon! I'm writing to explain what happened today. We booked two rooms and an apartment through the same company. An emergency operation was required for the person who rented the apartment. This person is the sister of someone staying in one of the rooms at this hostel (Boutique La Española in Rota) and the daughter of the guests in the other room. We sent reports documenting the situation, but they refused to issue a refund, keeping the full amount. I find it extremely unacceptable that they would consider the need for close relatives to have a vacation given the circumstances and refuse to take responsibility for something so urgent. I hope my comment will make others think twice before booking this place."

"Disappointing given the price and high ratings online. The apartment was only cleaned twice over our two week stay so no new towels, toilet roll or bin bags as you’ve to empty your own bins. When I asked for more bin bags at reception I was told they don’t have any and that I should go to ask a cleaner as they MIGHT have some. Problem with ants entering the apartment perhaps because the floors are not cleaned enough. Even when the apartment was cleaned, the hand soap was not refilled. Location is isolated being 4km walk to the centre of the town and the nearest cafe from the complex is 20 minutes walk. Nice pool with good amount of sun loungers"

"Our family of 3 has been visiting Barceló Costa Ballena every summer for the past 8 years. We absolutely love it here! The hotel is clean, modern and perfect for our needs. The food is varied and delicious and there is always something for everyone. The amenities are great with 2 pools, a relaxing spa and a small gym. The location is perfect. It is located in a small, quiet town and a short walk or bike ride from a beautiful beach. The nightly entertainment and pool parties are lots of fun. Many families come again and again and my son has a nice group of "hotel buddies". But, the most special part of the hotel is absolutely the staff. They go out of their way to make us feel welcome and honestly, after all these years treat, us like family. Aníbal is an absolute treasure. He and his entertainment team are so much fun and they make each and every visit joyful and unforgettable. It's always so hard to leave, but we are already looking forward to next year!"
