"I visited Saga twice and stayed at New Otani both times. It is a bit of a distance from Saga Station, but since it is close to city tourist attractions such as Saga 360, Saga Castle Ruins, and the Art Museum, it might feel a bit tight to catch the airport bus for your return flight, depending on personal preference. However, the river view in front of the hotel is overwhelmingly beautiful, and you can also see the sunrise. While the nearest convenience store is about 5 to 7 minutes away, there are water dispensers, an ice room, vending machines for convenience foods, and microwaves in the building hallway (offering rice balls, beef rice bowls, side dishes, etc.). The guest rooms are provided with bathtubs and bath salts. The shower pressure is adjustable. The afternoon tea set and seasonal snack sets at the 1st-floor café look good in terms of composition and price."

"This Saga Garden Terrace Hotel Resort was truly disappointing, with an extremely poor experience. The hotel isn't small, but surprisingly, none of the staff spoke English. We had to rely entirely on a tablet translator to communicate, which was incredibly difficult and practically impossible. We simply wanted to add one more family member to our room, but the front desk immediately informed us that it would cost an extra 800 yen per person. My room only cost a little over 1000 yen for the entire night, so adding one more person was utterly unreasonable and blatant price gouging. However, because our itinerary was booked in advance and there were no other alternative hotels nearby, we had no choice but to accept, resulting in a very poor experience. The overall service was cold and perfunctory, with absolutely no human interaction whatsoever. For a resort hotel, the service level was completely substandard, and I sincerely do not recommend it."

"My first experience in Saga. I got a good deal on a flight ticket during the cherry blossom season. I landed in Fukuoka and then headed south to Saga. It was very convenient and there were not many people during the cherry blossom season. The hotel was just opposite Saga Station. I was still debating whether to change to a comfort inn, but found that it was fully booked for the days I wanted to stay. So I thought forget it. A business hotel for 300+, with a bath at night and meals included in the morning, what more could I ask for!"

"The service was excellent, and the rooms were clean. The package with souvenirs was a great value. The breakfast was the best among the surrounding hotels. The fish stew and beef tendon stew were delicious. It's a shame that there's no laundry facility inside the hotel (it's next door) and that I couldn't find a microwave. However, overall I was satisfied and would choose this hotel again if I have the opportunity."

"A three-story hotel with only stairs. Breakfast is included, and you can also change to rice balls (meal in your room). Breakfast was delicious. It's not a card key, it's a regular apartment key. So you have to lock the door yourself when you enter the room. The area around the hotel was pitch black and there was only a convenience store. Don't expect too many amenities. Women need full equipment. Smoking is allowed, so there is a distinct cigarette smell. It's a very inconvenient place if you don't have a car."

"The location is a bit awkward, so it's not a convenient place to get to unless you take a taxi or rent a car. There is a small public bath and an outdoor hot spring. Breakfast and dinner are excellent, but... the facilities are old, so the air conditioning doesn't work properly. Please keep this in mind if you are sensitive to the heat."

"This is a small ryokan in a small hot spring village. It's charmingly decorated and offers plenty of space to relax. The rooms are a good size and well-appointed. The lush green scenery outside the window was a delight. I ordered dinner and breakfast, and both were delicious. After checking in, I took a walk around the village. Right next to it was a stream with clear water and a walking path, and the neighborhood itself was beautiful. There's a very cute cafe nearby called "oriori." Buses run intermittently, and you can get there by taking bus number 70 from Saga Station. I rented a car, and it's a great place to visit the Imari pottery village in the west, Takeo Shrine, the library, and Nanatsugama on the north coast. It's also not far from the Yoshinogari ruins in the east. However, there were a few disappointments. I had soba for lunch, and was a little surprised to see it again for dinner. I expected dinner to be a Japanese home-cooked meal, so I was a little disappointed. Since it's a hot springs town, I was looking forward to the hot springs, but the baths were too small and the water was lukewarm, so I only used them in the evenings. When I first arrived and looked for the hotel, the sign was only in Japanese and was hidden, so I had to circle around a few times to find it. Still, I think it's a pretty romantic place to stay."

"The bathroom was also nice. There was a bathtub in each room, so it was good for relieving fatigue. The coffee the owner made was delicious, and all the items, including the coffee cups, were top-notch. Thank you so much, owner."

"The villa was very comfortable, but of course, it wasn't cheap. You get what you pay for! However, it was too far from the check-in area. If we weren't such avid hikers, we probably would have given up… The front desk service was okay, but it was just too far, maybe two or three kilometers away. Imagine carrying heavy luggage under the blazing sun, with your wife and kids at home feeling… The map wasn't very clear, and the navigation wasn't very good either. I suggest the front desk help us enter our destination, and then let the navigation guide us. Otherwise, getting lost would be a big problem."

"This guesthouse is truly an idyllic escape! After getting off the bus at the final stop, Google Maps still indicated a 400-500 meter walk. The uphill trek along a secluded path felt like a journey of transformation, preparing us for something special. As soon as we opened the door to our room, we knew it was worth every step. The wonderfully homey atmosphere instantly made us forget the fatigue from the climb. We quickly made our way to the public bath to indulge in the hot spring, then returned to our room to relax and await our delicious meal. Despite the language barrier, we were deeply touched by the owners' incredibly friendly and accommodating nature. It was clear that 'service above all' was deeply ingrained in their ethos. Tranquil, serene, and utterly comfortable – these words perfectly describe our entire stay. P.S.: You can ask the owners to provide pick-up and drop-off service from the station, especially if you have luggage. Otherwise, that uphill climb will certainly make your legs weary!"
