InterContinental being my favorite hotel, I always look for one wherever I go. I was in Shanghai for a short stay and I wanted it to be relaxing and elegant so… didn’t have to think too much about it. You guys never disappoint me. First of all, just by walking around th hotel you get a free history lesson about Shanghai from decades ago. Beautiful paintings on the wall, gorgeous architecture, y’all the bathtub in my room was… incredible. It made me forgive you for not having the spa working on that day. There’s this quiet room you can go to read a book or just enjoy the pictures of important events, people or movies. The food is good! I spent my morning walking around the beautiful garden. My room had a great view and a balcony, thanks to the gentleman who made my checkin. I tend to get the highest floor and he was super nice in getting a really good room for me when I explained what I wanted. On the way to my room I met this elegant butler who easily told me how to get to my room like he had the hotel map memorized in his head and gave me this Downton Abbey vibes, you know what I mean?! Amazing!!! Love it ❤️

When I first arrived at the lobby, I smelled a familiar InterContinental Hotel smell. When I checked in, I found that it was indeed a brand of InterContinental Hotels. The front desk was very enthusiastic. Seeing that I brought two children, they helped me change to a more suitable room type. It is very close to Qianguqing, and it takes only a few minutes to take a taxi. It is also convenient to Guojin. I will stay here again when I come to Pudong next time.

Overall, it is an excellent hotel. The location is extremely convenient, right at Xintiandi. The hotel is not brand new, but very well maintained. Two points I would like to make: 1. if you book your trip through third party, you cannot use your stay toward your frequent stay points (not a huge deal). 2. they do not have room to fit our family of 4. We need to reserve two rooms. This is because of the room type, not really anything to do with the hotel itself.

Selected the hotel as a trip.com diamond member and was offered to be given the benefit of accessing the hotel lounge which turned out to be a disappointment as the so called happy hour had nothing much except a couple of plates of snacks and some drinks. The lounge service is pretty ordinary, staff there were kind of so bored standing round. This is a total gimmick from both the hotel and Trip.com . However, the breakfast was good with a nice range of selections and decent service. Overall, the hotel amenities are starting to look dated and tired and the pool was tiny with the surrounding facilities look also a bit shabby. The 5 star status remain to be challenged.

Located in the bustling business district of Xuhui, Capella is much better than the ones in Hainan! It's quiet in the middle of the hustle and bustle, making it very convenient to go out for a walk or ride a bike. Although the design of the small five-story building is climbed up and down, the functional areas are indeed divided very well. The sanitation and cleaning are good. Both bathrooms and toilets are smart and have heating functions. They are very friendly to friends who come to Shanghai in the winter. The audio-visual room does not disturb teammates who want to sleep. The light shading in the room is excellent and the sound insulation is very good. , it was quite quiet all night (but I don’t know if it was because there were few or no neighboring guests), which was appreciated by teammates who suffer from insomnia. The service is also very good. From the time of check-in, every employee takes the initiative to say hello, greets you with a smile, and responds quickly to requests. As for breakfast, I think it can be improved. Breakfast is a la carte service and can be ordered and delivered to the room. I went to the restaurant to eat, but my expectations may have been too high. I felt that the product that day was not at an excellent level, and the staff did not feel very busy. Why do I always have to ask for more tea? Haha... The last unhappy thing is that because I like their body wash, I bought it for home use, but I forgot to check it in when I boarded the plane, and the security personnel took it away in vain😭😭😭I will bring my children back next time, continue. Keep up the service level!

The experience was good. The room was clean and tidy without any odor. The bed was soft. I could immediately relieve my fatigue after lying down for a night. There was a separate bathroom, which was divided into dry and wet areas. It was a smart toilet and also had a large wash basin. The breakfast desserts were very delicious. I've stayed in several Base accommodation before, this one rates well for room size, style, newness and condition. Great linen and towels, comfy bed, ground floor cafe is convenient, feels like a home away from home. Convenient location beside Line 13 station and underground mall with many restaurants, and not far from Line 8 & 4 at Xizang nan Lu. But not in the heart of the mid city action, there's not much around unless take 2 metro stops. That however is fine, it is very functional living. Will re-book in future.
