Atour was a life saver to me. I am deeply appreciative and grateful to them. I originally booked Ascott but had such a bad experience when I checked in (poorly maintained furniture, mouldy toilet, broken door latch). I was recommended Atour by locals and I called Atour at midnight asking if there are beds available (it was Christmas season and most hotels are fully booked). Their staff was professional and empathetic towards my situation. I was afraid that the room would not be able to accommodate 4 of us and they suggested that we could check out the rooms before booking. We went down the next day and they brought us to view a few rooms. This act of going the extra mile was extremely comforting for us. We had a great stay at Atour. It was new, modern, clean and the room was spacious and AI controlled. We had a great stay there. I am grateful to the staff Quan Yu who picked up my call and the other Quan Yu who showed me around the hotel for going above and beyond and made the rest of my SH trip a good one.
The only feedback is that the location is not as convenient and it would be great if there is a convenience store nearby. However, with the convenience of didi in SH, it wouldn’t be a huge problem.

The 'housekeeper' waited patiently for our arrival as we had issue sorting out the hail-riding booking at the airport. She had forwarded pictures with directions so it made easy to walk from main road through the small lane to find.
Being an old corner terrace, there's no lift. It's ok as the number of stairs up was not daunting.
A little cramped in the room. Both of us are small-built and staying only for a night, it's ok too.
Adequate power outlets though it would be perfect to have USB ports on the wall ;P
Several eateries are available in the neighbourhood. However, most don't begin business even if it's 8+ in the morning.
A short walk gets one to the metro station. If we had known earlier, we would have taken a ride to the accommodation from Xiaoshan train station. Nevertheless, we took a ride to the airport upon departure. (And it cost only 7 yuan per person!)
Overall, we are satisfied with the stay.

Super convenient location right in the heart of Xintiandi. Front desk was kind enough to upgrade us to a bigger conrner room so that we would be more comfortable as we needed an extra bed. Special thanks to concierge Seven who helped us book our transport to the airport. He contacted me to make sure everything was ok, even though he was on leave that day. Amazing service, we will definitely come back to stay again.

This hotel is the perfect choice if you want affordable yet really well located. It’s basically a 30 mn walk to everything, going either side of the hotel. We were able to walk comfortably to xintiandi, to the French concession, to the Bund…and it you prefer the metro, there are several stations within a few minutes walk. Line 10 takes you direct to and from the airport and is only 5mn walk from the hotel! The room as comfortable and very spacious, and best of all was view on the Shanghai tower! Really great at night! The breakfast was simple but enough. I’ll definitely stay here again whenever I come to Shanghai!

I had the pleasure of staying at this establishment recently and was thoroughly impressed with the level of cleanliness and attention to detail in every aspect of the property. The rooms were immaculate, and it was clear that the staff took great pride in ensuring that everything was spotless and well-maintained.
The location of this establishment is another major draw. Situated in close proximity to a metro subway station, it was incredibly easy to get around and explore the city center. Whether you're traveling for business or pleasure, this location is perfect for those looking to be in the heart of the action.
The staff were also a highlight of my stay. Friendly, welcoming, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that guests had a positive experience. From the moment I arrived, I felt like a valued guest rather than just another customer.
Lastly, I would be remiss not to mention the delicious Chinese breakfast on offer. A hearty and satisfying start to the day, the breakfast was a delightful surprise and added an authentic touch to my stay.
In conclusion, I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and convenient place to stay in the city center. With its close proximity to the metro station, friendly staff, and delicious Chinese breakfast, it truly has everything you could want in a hotel. The only downside I can think of is that the establishment could offer a bit more in terms of amenities, which is why I've given it 4 stars instead of 5. Nonetheless, it was still a wonderful experience and one I would not hesitate to repeat in the future.

A wall hanging completely captured me!
The location is quite good, just a five-minute walk from Laoximen subway station. The door is very generous, and you won't be unable to find the place when standing at the door. There is a Kuaike downstairs and Lawson across the street, which is very convenient. The front desk is very considerate, and they upgraded the room for free and took the initiative to provide toothbrushes (I have encountered someone who didn't give it to me even after asking for it), and they gently reminded me of the breakfast time. To be honest, I was a little shocked and repeated it again, because it was really unexpected that breakfast was available at this price in this location! To be honest, the room is very small and can only accommodate one person, but the facilities are still complete. When the warm-colored lights are turned on, it feels a bit warm. As I said at the beginning, maybe the wall hanging made me ignore some shortcomings. Anyway, I will stay here again next month!

Love this hotel! We are from Malaysia and did DIY travel ourselves. Free and easy. This hotel location is 100% perfect - just across the metro station (Laoximen) and walk up 800m you will find a mosque (for muslims). So halal food is also nearby.

GGuest UserClean room with bidet closet, free use washing machine, walking distance to yu garden, staff can not speak english, but willing to use their phone to make translations, even willing to help buy food in the restaurant next door because we can not use delivery apps.
RRx_travelsLocation was perfect (one crossing away from metro entrance) to get to The Bund and other iconic sites located on line 1 and 2. Service was excellent. As a foreigner I had many friends use Taobao to deliver before I had even arrived and the lady at the reception was able to confirm some of my deliveries had arrived before I even arrived at the hotel. They explained clearly where all the amenities were located and were very patient with all enquiries. Obviously the bunk room single room is cramped, however for the cost and other aspects I would definitely book again.
For context two large check in luggage inside room will be cramped. I had to flip the chair upside down onto the table to make space for one of my bags while I used the other.
TTOBACCOVANILLEThis hotel used to be Senz spa hotel, now became Double tree by Hilton. Because I enjoyed the spa and massage facilities last time I stayed I missed the massage used to be offered by this hotel but other than that I liked this hotel a lot. Very clean and slightly high ceiling in the room makes everything very comfortable and relaxing. The breakfast is kind of usual standard for this type of hotel but this hotel is directly connected to an excellent shopping street called Lidoway where I could find a lot of restaurants and bars just outside of the hotel. Highly recommended for those who are looking for relaxing stay close to Hongqiao airport and EXPO area in Qingpu

LLuis AlbertoTitle: Comfortable Stay with Room for Improvement
During our recent one-night stay at the Novotel Shanghai Pudong Chuansha, my wife, our 7-year-old daughter, and I experienced both positive aspects and areas that could benefit from enhancement.
Buffet Options:
The breakfast buffet offered a satisfactory selection of dishes, including both local and international cuisines. While the variety was adequate, we felt that the quality and freshness of some items could be improved. Our daughter enjoyed the pastry section, though it lacked some of the diversity we’ve encountered in other hotels.
Amenities:
The hotel provides standard amenities suitable for families. Our room was clean and comfortable, featuring modern furnishings.
Service:
The front desk staff were courteous and efficient during check-in and check-out.
Location:
The hotel’s proximity to Shanghai Disneyland is a significant advantage for families planning to visit the park. However, we found that transportation options to other parts of the city were somewhat limited, making it less convenient for broader sightseeing.
Overall Experience:
Our stay at the Novotel Shanghai Pudong Chuansha was comfortable, and the hotel adequately met our basic needs. However, there is room for improvement in areas such as amenity availability and service responsiveness. With some enhancements, the hotel has the potential to offer a more satisfying experience for families.
KKingsley LuoI had an incredible experience at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Shanghai, thanks to Karina! From the moment I arrived, Karina went above and beyond to ensure my stay was enjoyable. She was not only incredibly helpful with all my requests but also genuinely friendly and welcoming, which made me feel right at home. Karina took the time to offer personalized recommendations, and her attention to detail was impeccable. It’s rare to find someone who truly cares about their guests as much as she does. I highly recommend staying at this hotel and hope you have the chance to be assisted by Karina—she made my trip unforgettable!
GGabitLocation is a very good option for those who don't want to bother travelling early or late at night to the airport. The main issue for international travellers in China and at this hotel is that they do require Chinese mobile phone numbers only to get connected to wifi - sad, very sad. Well, as we should be leaving in the morning and check-ined late we didn't want to bother much about this wifi setup issue with reception.
The view is great in the morning, at least from the 702 room. The fridge was full with what you see down below.

GGuest UserQuite hard to communicate with the receptionist and staff at the hotel, but some of them were really nice.
Hotel room was small but clean, they change our towel every day.
Breakfast is the same menu for almost everyday, but enough spread from rice, noodles, wonton, bread, coffee.
Location very convenient, near east nanjing road metro station. Close to the bund.
PPanchita.POur family had stayed 2 rooms for 3 nights on the 27-30, Dec 2024. Our stay were memorable and amazing. The rooms were so clean with very nice view, the breakfast line were delicious and has many variety of food both western and Chinese. The staffs were the most impressive, they could speak very good english and very friendly. The duty manager is very helpful too. I forgot the souvenir which was the Chinese embroidered traditional fan and just realized when I got back home, the duty manager was very enthusiastic and putting a lot of efforts in getting the forgot item back to me. Thank you so much, I’m really impressed and highly appreciated your hard work and kindness.
FFamPlanFirst of all 5 stars to Peng Ho (何鹏) service, very helpful and proactive, helped with us during check in and when leaving the hotel with 🧳 and getting our ride to the airport.
Also 5 stars for another lady helped with our check in, she let me viewed a few rooms as I wasn't exactly sure about my stay, she prepared a welcome fruit platter for us.
The hotel is quite wore off, l9bby seemed ok, but once in elevator, corridors all appeared wore off and not clean, then the room arranged for us is full of smell, moldy and smokes, the room we settled is not as smelly, but still found stains, dirt etc in the room, I have especially requested a well cleaned and dusted room before check in due to allergies. Since t was our last stop of a 2+ weeks vacation plus it's only one night so we didn't move, if it is at the beginning or staying longer, I would've moved hoteldue to the first impression of elevator /corridor and room,I was tired that didn't even take picture of the room, our room was facing some old neighborhood, no scenery at all, plus it's noisy in the morning around 6, noises from heavy machinery.
But location is quite convenient, walking distance to the Bund, took us about 20 minutes walk to reach the starting point of the Bund.
