This is not the first time I have stayed in this hotel. But this time around, its a bit disappointing. The check-in time stated is 2pm. I reached the hotel around 3pm with my son. I was told that the room is not ready yet and was told to wait at the dining area and once the room is ready they will look for me and let me know. At the same time, I was given a coupon for a complimentary drink. When I was at the dining area, I realized that the coupon is only valid for ONE drink. I am upset that the hotel could not afford 2 drinks for me and my son. That is really upsetting. I waited until 3.30pm and no one came. I have to go back to the reception to check if the room is available. Only then did they give me my room key. I am not a petty person but this is not some 2 star or 3 star hotel and I am not expecting this. I am not coming back.

Singapore Weather

Singapore, located near the equator, experiences a tropical rainforest climate with consistently warm temperatures and high humidity throughout the year. The city-state does not have distinct seasons, but its weather can be broadly divided into two main monsoon periods.

Singapore can be visited year-round, but the best time to visit is during the relatively dry months from February to April. This period offers the most pleasant weather for outdoor activities and sightseeing.

Northeast Monsoon (December to Early March)

  • Weather: This period is characterized by frequent and heavy rainfall, especially in December and January. Thunderstorms are common, and there are occasional cool spells with temperatures dropping slightly.
  • Temperatures: Average highs range from 29°C to 31°C (84°F to 88°F), and average lows are between 23°C and 25°C (73°F to 77°F).
  • Rainy Days: About 15 to 20 days per month.
  • What to Wear: Light, breathable clothing such as cotton t-shirts and shorts. Carry an umbrella or raincoat for sudden showers, and wear waterproof footwear.

Inter-monsoon Period (Late March to May)

  • Weather: This is a transitional period with lighter rainfall and occasional thunderstorms. Humidity remains high.
  • Temperatures: Average highs range from 30°C to 32°C (86°F to 90°F), and average lows are between 24°C and 26°C (75°F to 79°F).
  • Rainy Days: About 12 to 15 days per month.
  • What to Wear: Light and breathable clothing. An umbrella or a hat for sun protection is useful, as well as comfortable walking shoes.

Southwest Monsoon (June to September)

  • Weather: This period sees less intense but more frequent short-duration showers, often in the late morning and early afternoon. There can be extended periods of dry weather with occasional haze due to forest fires in neighboring countries.
  • Temperatures: Average highs range from 30°C to 32°C (86°F to 90°F), and average lows are between 24°C and 26°C (75°F to 79°F).
  • Rainy Days: About 13 to 17 days per month.
  • What to Wear: Light, breathable clothing, and a hat for sun protection. An umbrella for sudden showers and a mask during hazy days can be beneficial.

Inter-monsoon Period (October to November)

  • Weather: Similar to the first inter-monsoon period, this period is characterized by frequent thunderstorms, often in the afternoon and early evening.
  • Temperatures: Average highs range from 30°C to 31°C (86°F to 88°F), and average lows are between 24°C and 25°C (75°F to 77°F).
  • Rainy Days: About 15 to 18 days per month.
  • What to Wear: Light and breathable clothing. An umbrella or raincoat for the frequent thunderstorms, and comfortable footwear.
