Singapore Hostels

A relatively new, cosy boutique hostel in a two-storey shophouse in the middle of historic Kampung Glam. Private rooms and shared baths on the 2nd storey (serviced by a lift) and capsule pods and a stylish lounge on the first. Our room was small but comfortable and very clean, bath towels were provided and there was ample clean, shared bathrooms with hot showers down the hallway - we never had to wait. We liked that they try to provide basic amenities, laundry facilities ($7 per wash/dry load) and filtered water dispenser on the first floor. Bonus: friendly reception staff, and location in a quiet strip just 2 minutes walk away from the mosques, shops and nightlife area. Great for sleep, shop and supper!

Cons: 1️⃣ Be mentally prepared, the bunk beds are really, really small, with no space to put your belongings. If you're over 170cm tall, your feet will stick out of the bed curtain. 2️⃣ The quality of roommates is random. On my second night, one roommate was still on the phone in the early hours of the morning. 3️⃣ There was a sweaty odor in the room, perhaps a lingering smell from the renovation? 4️⃣ I suspect the bedding wasn't clean; my legs were covered in bites, and they weren't mosquito bites. 5️⃣ The women's restroom occasionally requires queuing. Pros: 1️⃣ Excellent location, about a 400-meter walk from two subway stations, and very close to major attractions. 2️⃣ Staff service attitude is good. 3️⃣ Many guests are Chinese, so you can chat with them. 4️⃣ Cotton swabs, earplugs, toothbrushes, and toothpaste are provided free of charge, but you need to bring your own slippers, otherwise, you'll have to pay 2 SGD for a pair of 'couple' slippers.

The place is incredibly clean, I'd even say spotless. I stayed in an all-female dorm and didn't sleep well at all. Every night, someone would come back very late, usually around 3 or 4 AM, and then someone else would wake up early, around 7 or 8 AM. So, if you're a light sleeper, I wouldn't recommend booking a shared room; you really won't get any rest. The shared bathrooms and showers were tidied up daily and very thoroughly cleaned. There aren't many washing machines in the laundry room, and if you handwash, there's nowhere to hang your clothes. Once, I hung my clothes in a common area and someone took them down. The Black woman at the front desk, after taking my items and giving them back with a warning, seemed quite pleased with herself. I have no idea why she was so happy???? Encountering a good front desk staff member is really a matter of luck. Some are very polite, while others can be quite condescending.

Great location, very close to the subway station, and there's a bus stop right across from the hostel, making it super convenient to get to all the attractions. The overall environment is clean and tidy, and the staff are very friendly and patient with any questions. It offers excellent value for money, especially perfect for backpackers!

THE ROOM Capsule Hotel offers a clean, budget-friendly option for solo travelers and backpackers looking for a functional and social place to stay in Singapore. Located along Geylang Road, it provides essential amenities paired with convenient access to public transit. * Convenient Location: Situated just a few minutes' walk from Kallang MRT Station with a bus stop right across the street, making local transit fast and straightforward. * Solid Amenities: Pods and shared spaces come equipped with practical facilities including a microwave, refrigerator, laundry equipment, personal lockers, and charging points. * Shared Social Spaces: Features a cozy lounge and communal working space on the second floor that works well for remote working or connecting with other guests. * Things to Consider: As with typical capsule and hostel setups, expect shared bathroom facilities and potential noise in the communal dorm areas.

Overall, this hostel is quite clean. The room isn't very large, but it's cool, so I slept comfortably at night. The bathroom is very clean, has a hairdryer, and plenty of hot water for showering. It's a bit of a walk from the subway station, so it's better to take the bus.

The place is great! The location is amaizing, it is close to a lot of tourist places. It was clean and the AC worked fine (could be a bit quieter). It is good for sleeping, since it is not noisy (it will depend on the other guests). The bed can be a bit noisy when moving.

A low budget hostel situated at Chinatown,Singapore. Only five minutes walk from Chinatown MRT station. Offering bunk beds, private room and group booking services. I choose dormitory room with 10 bunk beds, it's quite when I'm arrived here ,at least there are six occupants. Each room has AC and lockers without padlock. So, be careful with your belonging. But the problem is each bunks hasn't curtain. I suggest hostel must make curtain for the private reason. Hostel not providing amenities such as towel, shampoo or body wash etc. you must prepared by yourself. But you can having coffee or tea even enjoying your food in dining room, also free for refill drinking water.They provide free wifi services. As a budget hostel , their room is clean and tidy, before you into room you should take off your shoes and keep in shoes rack. Overall good services and friendly staff. Keep maintain your standard services.

I had a pleasant stay at Rucksack Inn Hostel Chinatown. The location is excellent, very close to Chinatown MRT and many food options. It is a good choice for travelers looking for a convenient and budget-friendly place to stay in Singapore. Overall, I am satisfied with my stay ☺️

This area is Little India, surrounded by many Indian-owned shops. There are several MRT stations nearby, making transportation very convenient. Underneath Tekka Centre, you'll find plenty of local food stalls. There are also many shopping malls near the Rochor MRT station, worth exploring.
