Lovely breakfast served in a beautiful courtyard/garden area. I spent a wonderful day reading in the garden on the deck chairs. Wonderful place to relax and recover after visiting the salt flats before heading towards la Paz and Lake Titicaca. "Villa Antigua is very nice hotel located in the centre of Sucre. Built in the 18-sixties as a mansion, it was completely renovated in 2009. The hotel offers 21 rooms over 3 floors, and has a garden, a nice patio, a large top floor terracce, a gym & steambath, a breakfast restaurant, and a charming café. Free Wi-Fi. Staff is friendly and helpful. Our room was adequately furnished & decorated, with table & chair, TV & fridge, a high ceiling, wardrobe & safe, and a good queensize doublebed. We had a separate bathroom with toilet, washbasin & shower over the bath. The large window opens into the patio but has no mosquito screen. All was very clean. The buffet breakfast is good: bread, rolls & toast, ham & cheese, eggs made to order, butter & marmalade, fruit & juice, cereals, yoghurt & mineral water, tea & coffee. We found Vila Antigua comfortable and very quiet and we had a good stay. Good value-for-money. Highly recommended."

The room itself was tastefully styled with local,artworks, decorated bedsteads and colourful tapestries. A nice breakfast room on (I think) the sixth floor which had fabulous views over Sucre. The hotel team were very friendly and always helpful. A lovely place to stay in a lovely town."

"This is simply one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. Airy, sunny rooms cooled by gentle breezes high above the city. Quiet private accommodations within a large well landscaped walled compound. Easily within walking distance of this delightful world heritage city. This is the epitome of a small boutique B & B. The hosts are lifetime sucre residents who make sure their guests are well cared for. Don’t hesitate to book this one. We spent 5 nights here and wish it had been longer!"

"A disaster for calm. If you want peace, run away! Hotel that is aging poorly. Hotel which certainly had its charm many years ago. As soon as 2 people are talking on the ground floor near the small swimming pool or in the hall, all sounds are amplified by the glass roofs. It feels like a station hall. Blame it on the architecture and the clients who speak loudly at any time. Even in room 203, especially upstairs, you can hear everything that happens. A shower screen is missing. In short, a shame because beautiful architecture and comfortable beds but a disaster if you want peace and quiet"

"Pros: Great location, all the main attractions are about a 10-15 minute walk Delicious and extensive breakfast with some Bolivian specialties (don't miss the purple corn drink and view from the dining room) Very comfortable bed WiFi worked well Cons: The breakfast hours are bit confusing, the front desk and sign on the door says 7:30 am but the doors are open much earlier with guests done by start time. We had a early start for day trip so we requested early breakfast; we were provided with a basic breakfast in our room the night before. We appreciated the breakfast in room but the seated breakfast was far superior."
