I chose a room with separate bath. The bath is not a Western-style bath that you can lie in. It’s square shaped and about four feet wide and long. You can sit in it, but you can’t recline in it if this is something you’re looking for. The hotel offers an outstanding breakfast at the Tavernist. Breakfast here is easily more delicious than at more expensive hotels. Even the coffee was great. Breakfast is a la carte rather than buffet but the servings are perhaps even excessively generous. The hotel location is also very good. I wasn’t that familiar with Taipei when I booked but the location turned out to be convenient. It’s a few minutes walk to Zhongxiao Fuxing station, which can take travelers to a few tourist spots, and about a twenty minute walk to Huashan Creative Park. There are Japanese-style department stores with restaurants in the basements and upper floors in addition to local cafes and restaurants.

A good hotel that is well located in Taipei. The ben though the exterior is somewhat dated, the interior is adequate and well kept. Breakfast is pleasant and service attentive. The only word of caution is being given a room that is interior facing and can be somewhat dark in the day time; maybe uncomfortable for those who yearn for natural light.

They thanked me for choosing them and also took responsibility/ownership on things they did not do right the first time. - They took notes on things you said and requested with immediate response or within 24 hours if needed more time. - They practiced active listening, asked clarification questions to ensure what I needed/requested. - Excellent breakfast, full of variety. They kept standard items standard by providing them daily but also added some variety by changing 3-5 dishes. All foods are fresh and prepared on site. - Housekeeping service had great attitude and was efficient in cleaning throughout the entire stay. - They have an elevator. I appreciate how their words and actions are consistent, which is very different from some hotels (Best Western always acted inconsistently, Marriott, Hilton, and IHG hotels are spotty, some are good, and some are bad) in the US and Canada where they said/agreed one things and acted differently when I arrived at the front desk for check-in. Hotel services in Taiwan are generally much better in terms of service attitude and honoring their words. - Effective expectation management and communication - When raising issues, they took it with positive attitude: they always first owned it by providing a sincere apology, tried to solve it immediately. If they couldn't solve it right away, they asked for more time and provided a timeframe on when it would be solved. Throughout my stay, 50% of issues were solved immediately, and 50% were solved within 12 to 24 hours. No issues remained unresolved. - Common areas are always very clean and organized. Negatives: - Not always have people at the front desk to help open the heavy doors. Better to change it to auto-sliding doors. - The elevator carpet is gross and dirty: time to change it. There was a hair hidden underneath the hand towel on first day - raised the issue and they fixed it the next morning. Although the hotel is far from the city, everything about the hotel itself is amazing. Book this place to get away from the craziness of downtown, but be sure to leave from here more than 4 hours to get to the airport if you're driving. It can be troublesome. I’ll return here again because I enjoy the ease and air of the room. It fits~ Both Double and King rooms are nice and the Internet is blazing fast in case you need to stream or hold online meetings.

The hotel room was nice with all the necessities but I would recommend the hotel to invest in an air purifier for the room with no windows.. the air quality inside the room was not good at all and it release a musty smell. The hotel was almost walking distance to tourist attractions, shopping malls and even night markets. The services of the hotel staffs especially the front desk reception were attentive and courteous. You can even do your own laundry free with detergents provided at the hotel laundry room. We enjoyed our stay very much with our rooms view of Taipei 101. Mrt and bus station were just beside use hotel. Big improvement since my last stay before covid-19. Keep it up. Will be back again.

Highly recommended👍🏻 The hotel is located at the heart of shopping district besides MRT station. Lot of eateries nearby and the breakfast is good. They even serve free flow of snacks (assorted biscuits, mini pancake, etc.) after breakfast time. Really enjoyed the bubble tea from Orange Tea shop which is at downstairs only. Will definitely book this hotel again when I visit Taiwan.

Stayed for two nights. The facilities are really good and I feel very impressed. A down payment of NT$3,000 is required before moving in. I also understand this rule. Smokers should smoke outside. It’s a pity that NT$2,200 was deducted from the final payment. They said that the bags on the bedsheets have taken up the color and they cannot be washed and will be scrapped. Seriously. The hotel is very dated. My room has newer wooden floor and some more modern look cabinets but the bathtub has mold ( see pic). The one slim closet by the door is for hanging clothes. The shorter closet should have shelves or safety deposit box but no, only half hanging space. The worst part is the air conditioner. ONLY COLD AIR! It is cool at night so I asked for either warm air or just air. They apologized and said only cold air or I could turn the air off. It is super stuffy once the fan is turned off. The window has no screen so bugs can come in. Moreover, it is 10” away from a construction site. By the way, at checkin, I was told that construction noise will be from 8-5 everyday. Maybe someone could have put this in the listing. It is at a super convenient location. That’s why the two stars and not 1.

Got a private room here which was fine. Very clean. Nice facilities. But that's it. The breakfast was a ticket to a sandwich shop down the street. So basic. They also made you collect new tickets every day and refused to give them more than 1 day in advance. Absolutely worthless. I chose this place because I was solo traveling and I wanted to see if I could meet other travelers. That didnt happen as the communal spots are few and far between, so no one is ever in there. On top of that, something went wrong with my hotel key and I was locked out of my room late at night when I was trying to go to bed. It took them 30 minutes to get my door open. You can find cheaper hotels just as nice. Not recommended.

Breakfast is at the restaurant of Fengju Hotel. The buffet is not bad. The location of the hotel is really good, 5 minutes walk from Zhongxiao Fuxing MRT station, so it is convenient to go everywhere. 3 subway stops or half an hour's walk to 101 Building, 1 station to Taipei Main Station, 2 stations to Ximending MRT, 3 stations to Songshan Airport MRT or 120 Taiwan dollars by taxi. It is also 2 stops away from the duty-free shop, and next to the hotel are Pacific Sogo and Sogo Sogo. The room fee is only 350. The price/performance ratio is too high. It is very convenient to go shopping and eat. I will stay here next time.

Booked 3-person room but wasn’t happy with the condition. Requested to check out immediately since no bed was allowed to be added, and were told that all the 4-person room was sold out. Taipei was our last stop so we wanted a good ending and we needed a room for three nights stay. Spoke to the FO manager who reluctantly but finally offered an one bedroom suite. The room was spacious and bright. We were happy and appreciative initially but their beds and couches were believed to be full of dust mite. We were suffering from severe insect bites, esp our 4 years old son (whom photos can be provided later). Quite a disappointment despite the hotel was newly refurbished and centrally located. The hot spring is only open for 16 years old and above so the hotel isn’t family oriented.

The building does seem old but the interior and rooms were recently renovated. My only problem was their plumbing in the toilet.
