Winchester Arms

"Stayed for one night as we were looking for somewhere to stay close to Vivary Park. The room itself was of a good size with quality bedding and towels provided. It was clean with a flat screen TV and tea making facilities. The breakfast was very good indeed. Large selection of cereals and condiments. The full English was lovely, one of the best I've had. Only negative was the carpets in the communal areas which could do with changing or new flooring laid. Also some of the decor is a little dated, but I suppose that this is an old country pub. Overall an excellent stay with exceeded food. Oh and the host is a bit of a character. "

"We have just spent a lovely weekend in Taunton. Having booked late we are so pleased to have found such a great hotel - walking distance to restaurants & off-street parking a big bonus. Our room (room 1) was clean & comfortable with a lovely large bathroom. Richard kindly helped with restaurant recommendations which we took his advice on and thoroughly enjoyed….thank you! We will definitely be back & have recommended you to my family when they come down to visit my sister who lives 25mins outside Taunton."

"Sunday lunch for my brother’s 50th birthday. All our starters were delicious. The roast was plated, and it was a generous portion. The vegetables were presented in dishes which I like as you can have the amount you want. The sticky toffee dessert is a must have. The only reason I have given 4 and not 5 is because the table was a little small for the size of our group and we felt a little squished, but do not let this put you off if you are looking for a delicious roast."

Greenham Hall

"I love an English occupier run B&B and Greenham Hall did not disappoint. The welcome was so warm, the property is stunning, beds comfy, rooms spacious, curtains when closed block out the light. Breakfast was delicious, especially the home made damson jam. We enjoyed the fresh coffee and orange juice. The hostess Caro gives a very warm welcome and was very hospitable, flexible and also an interesting and accomplished woman. It is also very reasonably priced. We would love to return when we are next in the area."

"Wonderful hospitality from Liz this week and a luxurious place to stay! We arrived very late due to traffic delays but kept in touch with Liz by text who was more than accommodating and recommended a local pub to eat en route. A beautifully appointed room, easy parking and a fabulous breakfast. A great stopover before our ongoing journey to Cornwall. Thank you Liz!"
