"The hotel is okay, but it lacks any local character; it's just an ordinary resort hotel, more suitable for Portuguese families with children. The hotel is quite "economical"—no complimentary water, and coffee in the room is chargeable… If you're a foreigner specifically visiting Tomar, I highly recommend choosing other local hotels near the castle, such as the monastery or the other hotel pictured. The last two pictures are of other recommended hotels, not this resort hotel."

"We had a fantastic night's stay and rest at Tomar story. It was extremely clean and the room was decorated beautifully. We loved the themed aspect of our room and the window and view of the river was beautiful. The hotel staff were lovely and looked after our luggage outside of the check in / checkout times. Tomar is a brilliant riverside town and the visit to the Castle and Church of Christ to see the Knights Templar headquarters has been the highlight of our Portuguese tour."

"My husband and I just returned from a month in Portugal. In that month, we stayed at eight different hotels. By far our favourite hotel was hotel Republic at Tomar. What makes this hotel so special is the personalized service from the staff. Without exception, every staff member was so warm and welcoming, and would go out of their way to accommodate your every request. By the time we left, we felt like they were family. We also had the opportunity to meet the owners of the hotel and they are warm and welcoming people and obviously said a high standard for their hotel. The hotel is in an excellent centralized location. We highly recommend this hotel."

"This cute apartment was an easy 10 minute walk from the train station. It is in a great neighborhood and is very secure. The building does not have an elevator so expect one or two flights of stairs. The apartment itself was clean and furnished with excellent amenities. The washer was so handy after two weeks of travel. The beds were comfortable and both the bedding and towels were high quality. The location was superb with an easy walk to all that Tomar has to offer. Three different grocery stores are nearby as well. Thank you Flattered for a great stay!"
