"What a beautiful place! We had a wonderful time staying in this lovely hotel. If you have a dog there’s plenty green to walk around, our dog got a lovely toy gift and a bowl for water to use in the room. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious, Yasin the waiter was so helpful! Beds are comfortable, pool is nice and kids are allowed before 6pm, Overall I would stay again."

"Hello, I booked a room at the Hotel L'Univers for Valentine's Day. I came with my wife and then we made a reservation at the restaurant for a special Valentine's Day menu. We were asked to arrive before 9:30 p.m., which we did to get the menu that was intended for us, except that we arrived well before to be sure of having the special Valentine's Day menu. We arrived at 8:45 p.m. and we were told that it was too late and that there was no longer enough for everyone, so I am very disappointed. I express my disappointment. I say that I made the reservation a week in advance and that I was promised that we were entitled to a special Valentine's Day menu. After expressing our dissatisfaction several times, we were offered to make the menu that had been agreed but with a limited quantity. It is really a shame for such an establishment because the place is magnificent. The hotel with swimming pool, jacuzzi and hammam is wonderful but the catering is not up to the author of the establishment. Very disappointed. We reported the incident to the reception on the day of our departure and we were deducted €40 from the price of the special Valentine's Day menu but we would have preferred to pay the agreed price and be served correctly as agreed so it's a shame for such an establishment"

Room was located facing a street and there was no noise to speak of. Absolutely perfection from start to finish. Many food options within minutes. Close to Tours Central Station. "Perfect base to visit the castles in the Loire Valley. The receptionist was very helpful and accommodating. Just be reminded that 12:00-14:00 and after 20:00 there is no reception, so try to arrange the check in afternoon. The room was spacious, had fridge, stove, basic cutlery, glasses, pans. And the best point: location 7 minutes from Tours station and Carrefour city."

"Excellent stay. Very central location, we paid about 3 euros to park in the next street down overnight . Whilst there is no reception, getting in via mobile QR code etc was dead simple. Paid a little extra for the executive room and it was worth it, very smart and large. Tours - great town and you are in the centre. Breakfast in a very smart room with an outdoor terrace. Everything you would need to eat. Highly recommended"

"To put this stay into context we were on our way back from attending the Annecy Animation Festival so had had a week of sauna like living in an apartment without air conditioning and sleeping in 27 degree night temperatures. The sheer bliss of a cool hotel room was so amazing after a week of 38 degree C days. We arrived around 6pm after a 335 mile drive in our EV involving recharging en-route so being recommended the next door Hotel Mercure Restaurant on a Sunday night that we were told had vegan food options was very welcome as it involved just a 50 yard stroll. The meal was disappointing - overpriced with poor 'sniffy' service and a single vegan menu dish. The non-vegan menu items were pretty lacklustre and the desserts were woeful and way below what I would expect from any half decent French kitchen. AVOID the Mercure is my advice. The Ibis Budget is a good clean well appointed hotel if you just want an overnight stay while travelling. 7 miles from the city centre so if you want to be able to walk to the main tourist attractions in Tours you should book a city centre hotel."
