"Parador is state owned luxury hotel converted from historic buildings. I booked this hotel because I was walking Camino de Santiago - Portuguese way. The hotel is right on the way. The hotel sits nicely along the Minho river. It is not near the church or supermarket but it is walkable. The room is spacious, clean and comfortable. I must say the receptionist was very helpful and friendly, I think her name is Marie. She tried to help us with our luggage transfer. Really appreciate."

"- Hotel well located near the town to go by car, with free outdoor parking. - Breakfast is good and plentiful. - Be careful when you are leaving, because the pool may not be available or be under construction and the hotel does not warn you on its website. - The air conditioning does not work as such, since it is programmed to only come out hot or cold, that is, the client cannot set the temperature they want in their room. - At reception there is some unpleasant person to serve the public."

"An unbeatable location in the fortress and our room had views over the Minho to Spain. Overall the 1960s/1970s vintage feel was ok but the consequence of that is that many of the fixtures and fittings in the bedroom and bathroom are very dated and certainly the bathrooms are in need of modernisation, although the bathtub was welcome. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, the bar staff less so. We did not eat in the restaurant so cannot comment but the breakfast was a bit underwhelming, odd eggs and the worst coffee consumed after a week in Portugal. The coffee really needs to get sorted out. The little pastel de nata were very good though. On the whole an underwhelming experience which did not live up to the Pousadas de Portugal’s reputation."
