"We stayed at VJs guesthouse from 30 June to 2 July 2023. It is definitely not upmarket! We had cold water to shower in and 2 threadbare towels with holes in to use! Had to ask for extra blankets in winter, as none were in the cupboards. No milk available just coffee creamer... Who uses coffee creamer with tea? Duvet was thin.Shocking actually and embarrassing because I booked for friends and family. Tourism grading of this establishment is required. "

"We recently stayed at Forest Hall as part of a bridal party for a wedding hosted in PE. The property is beautiful and the accomodation 5 star. We were offered a wonderful breakfast each morning and Dave (the owner) and his mum went out of their way to accommodate our party. I would highly reccomend Forest Hall if your travels happen to take you to PE and we will certainly be back if circumstances require. Thank you for a wonderful visit."

"I paid 50% deposit when I booked a room for my husband and myself. When we arrived at the Guest House I wasn't sure if I had paid or not and how much, so I paid the full amount of R1500-00 with my credit card. (I was a bit anxious at that stage as my husband had eye surgery that day and my mind was pre-occupied with taking care of him). When I realised that I had overpaid, I spoke to a staff member the day we checked out, a lady a reception, and she said "I thought you had paid, I was sure of it". So she said she would tell her boss and I would be reimbursed for the over-payment. That was last week (16th February 2026) Despite several phone calls and e-mails being sent, I have had absolutely no response. I feel cheated. I feel that they should have checked before I went ahead and made another payment. I feel that the owner is deliberately ignoring me, because they don't want to reimburse me. I will never stay there again."

"My husband and I stayed at Thunzi Bush Lodge for a weekend. We had a wonderful time. The view from the Heron cottage is beautiful. What a way to wake up to the birds chirping. One thing that we wish we knew before we went was that there aren't any Uber drivers in the area. You definitely need to go there with your own transport if you are planning on travelling in the area."

"This B&B exceeded our stay in every way and I cannot say enough good things about our stay. Our hosts were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The property is beautiful- the photos do not do it justice. The meals were incredible. The rooms were lovely and comfortable. Beds comfortable and shower had perfect water supply. "The staff were great, the beds comfortable and breakfast well prepared. It has secure on sight parking. It was very clean but some of the furnishings and carpets are a bit worn and we would have preferred butter at breakfast instead of margarine. The pool, lounge and bar area are nicely decorated and if we had been there a bit longer, we would have loved a swim in the pool. The front parking lot could use some more trees for shade and it would be nice to turn out the bright outside lights at night. Despite the blockout curtain a lot of light still crept into the rooms. Overall it was perfect for our needs and I am being a bit nit picky, but more to assist than critisie. I would stay there again"
