"The resort is beautifully designed with the full view of the majestic Amphitheater, the very spacious, well equipped chalets are so peaceful and with good distance to the other chalets to keep your stay privately. The private braai and esp. the hot tub are a real plus and very enjoyable. Breakfast buffet is very good, the staff are so helpful and friendly, although the pancakes were very different on 2 different days (no critics there😀 - one world-class, one good average), good portions and fresh, maybe a professional coffee/espresso-machine could be a perfect addition. We did also a challenging hike up to Sentinel Peak/Tugela Falls via the chain ladders which were thrustfully and professionally arranged and accompanied by Lunga on recommendation by the General Manager, Anton, who is the mastermind behind all the organization and communication in the resort. With his life experience and communication skills he lifts all other staff, esp. at reception to a new level which made our stay really a highlight of our trip, thanks again!"

"What a special place - we were married at Cathedral Peak 25 years ago and visited in August 2026 with my Parents and Son. We were lucky to have been there when it snowed which was awesome and so beautiful. The service from booking to our stay was fantastic. I really love that everything is how it always was - with excellent food, friendly and helpful staff, wonderful hikes, and comfortable rooms. Highly recommended. "

"We booked in for 2 nights on the 23rd and 24th of September. Our host Magda was warm and welcoming even at a 23h00 check in. She was so obliging and walked down to the guest room with milk, tea, sugar and coffee in hand to check us in. The room, kitchenette and bathroom was exceptionally clean. We were never asked for payment at any stage of our stay. I would highly recommend Memra Regards Charlton "

"WE WENT THERE TO CELEBRATE OUR 56TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY. OLD BUILDING BUT EXCELLENT AMBIANCE AND NICE SHADED PARKING. THE ROOM WAS HUGE AND THE SHOWER WAS GOOD WITH NICE HOT WATER. THE BEST PART OF OUR STAY WERE THE EXCELLENT DINNERS WITH STEAK THE FIRST NIGHT AND LAMB CHOPS THE SECOND NIGHT COOKED TO PERFECTION. LOVELY THREE COURSE MEAL. WE FURTHER ENJOYED OUR OUTING TO THE SPIOENKOP BATTLEFIELD WHICH IS ABOUT 30KMS FROM THE LODGE."

"I had the opportunity to stay for a week at aha Alpine Heath, nestled on the hills of the Northern Drankensburg. It was like heaven on earth. The place is beautiful, well kept, the food is great, with a mix of local traditional dishes to international cuisines. The challets style accommodation is perfect for family or for a romantic getawa or even business travel. There are plenty of activities onsite but ill recomment the hiking. The site of the lodge from one of the hills in the hiking trail is breathtaking. The staff also, they are great, they make you feel like you are at home with your brothers and sisters. I'll recommend Alpine Heath anyday for anyone visiting the Northern Drankensburg."

"We had a wonderful stay at Montusi Mountain Lodge and would definitely come back. The location is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by the stunning scenery of the Northern Drakensberg. It is a perfect place to slow down, enjoy nature and explore the area. We especially enjoyed the walks and trails around the property and the peaceful atmosphere of the lodge. What really stood out for us, however, was the exceptional hospitality and friendliness of the entire Montusi team. Unfortunately, both of our daughters became sick during our stay, but everyone was incredibly kind, caring and helpful. We felt very well looked after, which we especially appreciated while travelling with children far away from home. The accommodation was spacious and comfortable, the food was very good, and the whole lodge has a warm, relaxed and personal atmosphere. Despite our girls not feeling well for part of our stay, we have very fond memories of Montusi. A beautiful place with genuinely wonderful people, highly recommended for families and anyone visiting the Drakensberg. We would definitely return!"

"Day 1 Check In was easy and quick. Staff are very welcoming and friendly. We stayed in the self-catering Accommodation is lovely and spacious. Place is clean. There is everything you need in the kitchen. There is lots and lots of stairs inside so if you have leg issues or vision problems maybe ask for a disabled-friendly room. The lighting is very dim. A porter helped us with our luggage (I did see other reviews saying that there was no one to help with luggage). Saw some Zebra Roaming Around The timeshare tea at 3 was a waste of time. From the spreads that other resorts cater for, I was shocked with their tea. Was basically a plate of sugar donuts. We got back after dinner and the temperature started dropping. There was no wood for the fireplace. Not even electric blankets or extra blankets. Housekeeping brought us very quickly after calling them. We used the heater in the room. Warmed up quickly. Hotel dinners was delicious. Service for the lunch at the restaurant was terrible Overall a good holiday."
