"All in all, an excellent hotel/resort. The location is perfect due to its proximity to the beach and the old town. The service is very good; the staff treated us exceptionally well. Everyone is polite and helpful. A young, dark-haired woman at reception, in particular, gave us some very good tips. A young man, born in Germany, was also incredibly helpful, remembering our morning routines like a pro and immediately serving our favorite coffee. The brunch/breakfast is varied and delicious. The rooms are a bit small, but still nice and clean. The pool area was like a little oasis of tranquility."

"Truly an excellent choice. Fairly new hotel, perfect location 5/10 minutes from the center, kept as if it had been opened yesterday! Clean, well-kept and comfortable standard rooms. Very attractive location because it overlooks Pizzomunno and the beach, welcoming and well-positioned swimming pool. Abundant and very varied breakfast. Very courteous staff. Last but not least, a big round of applause to Mrs. Angela who practically manages the reception. Courteous, always smiling, available, affable, professionally prepared to best manage customers, and in my opinion the best that one could wish for and expect. "Very disappointing. It’s a beautiful property in a beautiful area, but that’s where the beauty ended. We were there near the end of the season (mid October) and were only one of three people staying. We must’ve been stuck in the worst “rustic cabin”! Cracked walls, no soap in dispensers, broken shower. Then came dinner in the restaurant. Worst meal I’ve ever had in Italy! All deep fried. Felt like we were an inconvenience to the 2 people I saw there. Their wine was just ok."

"In the overall experience, more than positive: in the first place, the cleaning of the room and the common environments is at the highest vote, the pool is large enough even if we found the bath with the water massage extinguished. The bar is a little undertone, and the restaurant is very carefully noted: the tables are prepared like fast food, without a dressing with plastic sub-plates. The pity of good to good but a terrible fast service: as soon as they saw the empty plate, they took away and immediately they carried the next round without a moment of breath. So much that after the first day, we chose to pretend that we were not finished to have so much slowness that you could not feel swelling at the end of the meal. The very large, but well-equipped beach with a great bar and restaurant. The most quiet, no noise and noises are both unpleasant and then, the nearness to the historic centre, 10 minutes walking, allows you to walk and enjoy a spectacular panorama without having to take the car."

"Like a lot of people who have reviewed this hotel previously we stayed here for three nights as part of a Riviera travel company tour of Puglia. Of the three hotels we stayed in on this tour it was the most Italian in style and the least business corporate and a lot of what other British visitors have complained about are things that enamoured it to me. Yes it is a bit of a strange layout, being two wings, each with their own lifts and there is a separate breakfast room in one wing and the main restaurant room is in the other separate wing, which takes a bit of navigation first time round. Yes the two lifts in the main building are small and not the quickest, so you will need to queue on arrival, especially if you are part of a party. But after this they were perfectly fine. The rooms are very good ours being quite spacious with balcony equipped with a small table and chairs? It had a Large comfortable king-sized bed (was the usual two singles joined together but you could hardly tell). There was a decent sized wardrobe with a built in safe and the room benefited from very efficient air conditioning. A small but functional bathroom with a walk-in shower unit with a strange built in massage unit. Tried to initially use this but it wasn’t very practical, so kept to the efficient shower head most of the time. The food at both the breakfast service and the two evening meals we had included was very good. The evening restaurant service starts promptly at 7 and is the usual anti-pasti table followed by primo the second courses, and the service is typical of more Italian style hotels in this part of the country. So, if you decide to attack the anti pasti table before the staff are ready you will be told to sit down. It is not the staff being rude, it is you not understanding the procedure. In fact all the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful, especially the staff at the small hotel bar. Yes, the drinks prices are more expensive than you will pay at a bar in the Old Town, but please show me a hotel where they are not. And one of the big pluses is the hotel location. It is in a quiet residential area but only a five-minute walk to the nearest beach or 10 minutes to reach the Old Town. There is a church next door that does chime on the hour but it stops at 10pm and the first peel is at 8am. All the public areas of the hotel were comfortable including the nice outside pool area, with its small unheated pool ( or at least it was at the beginning of May). All in all we enjoyed the stay here."

"Extraordinary! Our expectations were greatly exceeded, our choice was purely random, instinctive, we did not expect such a loving, almost familiar welcome. We didn't expect the hotel's location to be so strategic, one step away from the sea and within walking distance of the center. The services offered are multiple, comfortable rooms, excellent cuisine and variety of dishes and excellent service. Attractions for all adults and children with swimming pools with slides for the little ones. But our particular compliments go to Carol and Simona for their work, which in just one week pampered and entertained us with their entertainment for both children and adults. Congratulations to all the staff, I will definitely be back Davide, Giusy, Ilaria, Francesco"

Relais la Pretura ★★★★

"Relais La Pretura is a small hotel, so if you're looking for big hotel facilities - 24hr Reception, Room Service, Laundry, etc, find somewhere else. If you don't need those, the rooms are comfortable and a decent size. The breakfast buffet is served on the roof terrace, with good views of the town. And best of all, the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful (thanks Martino!), even managing to strong-arm some tickets for us on a sold-out boat cruise. The restaurant recommendations were also spot-on. Being small (and occupying the upper floors of the building) also meant we had difficulty finding the place. We knew where the hotel should be, but we drove past the location twice without seeing anything at ground level. It was only when we looked up that we saw the name at the top of the building! Although you can't park outside the hotel overnight (there is a paying car park about 10 minutes walk away), you can stop long enough to load/unload luggage. There are public squares either side of the hotel with bars/restaurants, so if you are an early/light sleeper, maybe bring earplugs - though it didn't really bother us."
