"Absolutely beautiful! The weather was perfect when I arrived, and the view from my window looked like a painting. The hotel is conveniently located right above the train station. The breakfast even had brown cheese, which was a treat since this was the only place in Norway (out of 3 nights) that offered it. I arrived quite late, and they upgraded me to their best room."

"Store Ringheim Hotell is a family run business and it shows in all the lovely detail and personal attention at every step. On the grounds of the family farm that has been in the same family for 10 generations, the landscape is idyllic and you could spend hours gazing at the mountains and valley below. While the buildings and style are quite humble, the decor is modern, handsome and very very comfortable. We stayed in a superior double and it was larger than any of the same category we’ve found elsewhere in Norway with a very comfortable bed and good pillows. We enjoyed a delicious four course dinner at their restaurant, featuring a wonderful mushroom soup made from wild mushrooms picked the day before, perfectly cooked steaks and a delectable chocolate fondant. Breakfast was typically generous in the Norwegian fashion with home made berry jams from berries picked on the farm and local mountains. I would absolutely stay again."

"The hotel is right opposite the station, very convenient. I stayed in a room facing the lake and had a small balcony. The scenery from there was very beautiful. My friends who were traveling with me originally stayed in a room facing the mountain. After coordinating with the service staff, they helped them change to a room facing the lake. The service quality was very good!"

"Stayed for two nights. Service was very basic - more like a bed & breakfast. Staff not available after 10pm, room temperature for main building rooms centrally regulated and cold at night, occasionally slight smell of fertilizer outside and in cafe. Poor food options - only offered set menu at dinner (needs 25h booking in advance, they didn’t tell us at check-in), no room service, limited breakfast buffet without even cappuccino (waitress explained “the bar only opens at noon”). Place seems very understaffed - we never saw anyone at reception, you have to ring a bell and then (most of the time) someone will come. Our room was small and simple but modern with nice view. Still felt overpriced considering service quality."

"Honestly, this was the worst hotel I stayed at during my Europe trip. There was no service to speak of, they wouldn't even provide tissues. The flimsy bed felt like it could collapse at any moment, and there were bugs everywhere. To top it off, I was woken up by loud train noises in the middle of the night."

"We had a very comfortable and relaxing night at the hotel. We had dinner which was delicious. Our server Sonya was so welcoming and made sure our 11 year old son had a meal option that excited him. The room was cozy and quiet. We had a wonderful sleep. After a long day of hiking the warm shower and comfortable room were so appreciated. Breakfast the next morning was made up of salmon and meat smoked on site, homemade jam. It was fresh and delicious."

"This is an antique-style hotel, said to be over a hundred years old. The lake is just across the road, and the scenery should be quite nice on a clear day. The hotel's furnishings and facilities exude an 'old money' vibe. Perhaps Europeans appreciate this sense of history and aged charm. While I found it novel, the hotel is simply too old! Historical charm doesn't necessarily make for a comfortable stay, and the price is quite steep. Maybe there aren't many options in Voss, and Fleischers is considered one of the better ones, so they don't lack guests. I wouldn't recommend it to friends. Very low value for money!"

We couldn’t get food either nights, I think the manager missed a trick here not informing us in advance but he just didn’t seem too interested! The staff were pretty elusive overall, the girls at breakfast were lovely though & helped us with the buses (although the buses weren’t reliable & we ended up depending on taxis)."
