Aspiring Lodge Motel
"We love to stay here. Suitable to us because travel in group. Its beautiful and classy."
Edgewater Hotel
"Step out of your room and you're greeted by green grass, autumn leaves, and a lake. A short stroll takes you right to the lakeside. You can follow the path all the way to the ancient trees and the lone tree, with snow-capped mountains all around in the back. This is truly a fantastic hotel!"
Hampshire Holiday Parks – Wanaka
"Love the tiny cabin which we stayed for 2 nights. Comfortable bedding & clean interiors with absolutely amazing view of the mountain. Would definitely recommend"
Oakridge Resort Lake Wanaka
"Love their hot pools and amenities. Location would be 5mins driving from city. If you have car would be very convenient, I don’t think you can walk to city with this distance."
Archway Motels & Chalets
"Staff is very nice. Fully equipped. Nice location."
Wanaka Hotel
"The hotel at the center of the town. However. It's a bit old and although they did refurbish the room but there is no ventilation in the room."
Adventure Wanaka Hostel
"Great location, close to food truck and supermarket, and the heat pump really works"
Alpine View Lodge
"This a beautiful cottage, set in a beautiful location! Would love to book this place again!"
Te Wanaka Lodge
"It was a pleasant stay in the hotel due to its location within walking distance to town centre and the Wanaka lake. The breakfast was excellent. It was certainly value for money."

Marina Terrace Apartments, Wanaka
"Marina Terrace Apartments are pure Luxury. Karen could not have been more helpful. Our Apartment had an amazing view of the Lake. The Apartment was spotlessly clean with everything needed for a Luxury stay. Enclosed garage was handy. A short stroll to all restaurants and shopping. We will be back again when next in Wanaka. Thankyou Marina Terrace Team."
Mishika Retreat and Lodge
"Where do I even begin? Mishika Retreat in Wanaka completely exceeded every expectation we had for a family getaway. From the moment we arrived, the stunning backdrop of the Southern Alps and the crystal-clear waters of Lake Wanaka made us feel like we'd stepped into a postcard. The Accommodation was spacious, immaculately clean, and thoughtfully designed with families in mind. Plenty of room for everyone, beautiful furnishings, and those mountain views from the windows never got old — even after several mornings waking up to them! The Staff were exceptional — warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. They went out of their way to make our family feel at home, from helping us plan day trips to arranging little surprises for the kids. That personal touch made all the difference. Activities & Location — being based in Wanaka means you're spoiled for choice. The retreat made it easy to explore everything the region has to offer, and we came back each evening to a peaceful, relaxing environment that felt like a true sanctuary. For Families, this place is a 10 out of 10. The kids were happy, the adults were relaxed, and that combination is honestly hard to find. We didn't want to leave. Mishika Retreat Wanaka is the kind of place that stays with you long after you've checked out. We are already talking about coming back next year. Highly, highly recommended. Don't think twice — just book it."
Lakeside Apartments
"The stay is definitely enjoyable. Facilities in placed are well thought out. The unit was spacious and clean. The apartment is conveniently located near a mini super mart and plenty of food options."
Alpine Resort Wanaka THC Hotels and Resorts
"Perfect"
Club Wyndham Wanaka, Trademark Collection by Wyndham
"Love the place as it’s quiet and carpark is abundant. There is also two in house cats which are really cute."
Black Peak View
"A plus was the complementary breakfast. Very peaceful environment, close to town, helpful and friendly host."
Aspiringlofts
"Friendly, helpful hosts and the most stunning of lake & mountain views from the balcony. The loft room comes with parking, a fridge stocked with essentials (and a home-baked treat!) and we slept like logs in the comfiest bed of our NZ stay so far."
Mt Aspiring Suite
"We stayed in room 12 from February 7th to 8th and forgot our iPad. We haven't heard anything from the cleaner/park? We've emailed, and we'll call Lise van Caspel & Hedzer Klarenbeek on February 9th."
Alpine Motel
"Awesome room and views all around, would recommend"
Wanaka View Motel
"Very good place to stay - clean, well maintained property and spacious room, reasonably priced; comfortable and quiet, would stay here again. Please note that this place offers different types of rooms - we spent the night in the basement suite, which does not have 'a view', or a kitchenette, but this is clearly highlighted when booking (on room selection). If any of these items is important for you, make sure you book one of the more expensive apartment-style rooms above. A guest laundry is available."
Fairway Motel & Apartments
"The room was spacious and very clean, with a small kitchenette and a fridge. The bathroom was also quite large. We were on the ground floor, and outside there was a big yard with a table and chairs where we could sit, sunbathe, and have tea. It's not far from the city center, and the price, which was a little over 700 RMB, was super value for money. Just one thing: when I booked through Ctrip, the deposit deducted was a bit over 729 RMB, which converted to a little over 181 New Zealand Dollars. However, when I actually paid for the room with my credit card at the hotel, it was charged a bit over 185 NZD, which was about 3 NZD more. This extra charge might have been a service fee, so it's something to be aware of when booking in the future – paying with a credit card at the hotel might incur extra fees."
Clearbrook Motel & Serviced Apartments
"Nice service apartment, very good location drive to wanaka three just 5mins"
Wanaka Luxury Apartments
"The best accommodation of my trip to New Zealand! I didn't see a front desk; check-in was self-service. They provided a key and a simple paper map in the mailbox at reception, and I found my room after a short while. It was a complete one-bedroom apartment with a spacious living room, a bedroom connected to a small garden, and even a walk-in closet. Very American style and quiet, convenient parking, and fully equipped with heating, a kitchen, and other amenities – fantastic! And it's worth mentioning that it was the only hotel in the South Island where I stayed for two nights that offered housekeeping service during the break!"
Wanaka Homestead Lodge & Cottages
"The location is great, right next to the lonely tree. The owner was very welcoming and checked in an hour early even though we arrived early. The house and grounds are also beautifully decorated."
Ahurei Apartments
"Compared with the net red ederwater, I recommend this apartment, especially the family, with 3 beds, independent garage, everyone can sleep well, 10 minutes walk to the lonely tree attraction, 10 minutes walk from the city, the picture is the front snow mountain landscape, the door is a large lawn, Children can easily let go of themselves, Wanaka has few people, very casual, it is good to slow down for a few days"
