"This hotel was very special. The staff professionalism and care is evident from the cleanliness and presentation of the rooms to the lovely breakfast. The architecture is very interesting, the rooms are comfortable, and I would recommend this hotel to any traveler. After traveling through Africa for many years and staying in many hotels, this one makes the most sense. The right size, perfect decor, comfort, and genuine care from the staff. Plus- you can walk to at least 2 very good restaurants. The price for the convenient location is more than fair. Plus the pool is a great amenity! If ever in Ziguinchor, I would gladly stay here again!"

"Superb setting on the banks of the Casamance river. Here you can escape immersed between the water of the river and the magnificent wooded garden. The sweetness of Casamance life. Our 2 connecting rooms were very good, and the hotel service was very professional and friendly. On the restaurant side, the service is more appropriate depending on the people who take care of you. The grilled chicken and shrimp skewers were very good but what a slow service, even though we were only 2 tables in total for 3 or 4 servers!!! We spent two hours at the table for a main course and a dessert! You must therefore let yourself be carried away by the flow of the river and forget time, like the waiters forget you."

"After years of living in Bakoteh, we were looking for accommodation in Sanyang, Gambia, for a short holiday. We found several accommodations via Google Maps, and Kaira Kunda appealed to us the most. Kaira Kunda is a guesthouse with six apartments. It looks very neat and well-maintained. Our apartment, no. 2, looked neat and clean, even under the bed. There's also a "watchman," named Modu, who keeps everything clean and maintained, answers all questions, provides advice, and helps where needed. A taxi driver, Madi, is also available to take you anywhere you want at a reasonable price. Kaira Kunda is located in a quiet area where you can enjoy walking. Except for the two main roads, all are dirt roads. The people you encounter during your walks are all friendly and approachable, and everywhere you'll encounter chickens, goats, and the occasional pig, all foraging for food. In the immediate vicinity, you'll find several local shops where you can buy breakfast, fresh tapalapa, local bread, with or without butter, mayonnaise, or something else. Other basic necessities are also available. The selection varies by shop. If one doesn't have it, another will. There are also several restaurants in the area, but we didn't try any of them. Every evening, we were served authentic African food, prepared by a local woman. A 10-minute walk away is the Sanyang Highway, lined with small shops, businesses, a taxi stand, and a transfer point for the minibuses. Don't be fooled by the barbed wire on the guesthouse wall and the bars and fences in front of the apartments. We never felt unsafe outside. And try to look past the chaos and poverty; it is, after all, a third-world country. If you can manage that, you'll have a fantastic stay and will definitely want to return."
