"please help me to write a hotel review. The hotel is nice,its have supermarket nearby. But parking also nice just the space a little bit small for you to park your car. but it is very convenient to bring your luggage direct to your room. the room is clean and tidy,just the light is quite dim. and the car from outside the road is quite bising since the room is at the corner near to the vamp. The swimming pool is nice but dont have the children pool. The breakfast is okay and have many delicacies which like malaysia also. Also, since our room was located at the corner near the ramp, there was some noise from cars on the road, especially at night. The swimming pool was nice and well-maintained, but it would be even better if there were a separate pool for children. Breakfast was decent, with a good variety of dishes, many of which are similar to Malaysian cuisine, so it felt quite familiar. "Early Check In before 12pm, few times stay here but this time doesnt need to put deposit ($200) like before. Staff is a boy (frgt to ask the name) is very friendly. Check in process is easy & fast. This time no outside parking coz many events in the hotel, so I park my car in the basement which is free parking till I checked out. Just gv the receiption our car plate no. Satisfied with dis room (529) clean & big room worth the money with free breakfast for 2pax."

"For its price, this hotel is quite decent. Just be aware that in some rooms, the toilet and shower are not en-suite but located on the floor. The room itself was perfectly fine, not too small, and it was nice to have a window. On the downside, the internet speed was slow. I also wished there were more showers and toilets, and that they were cleaner. The hotel's location is not bad, close to the bus station. If you're arriving by bus from Kota Kinabalu, you can even walk there. There are shops and cafes nearby."

"The Centrepoint is a historical hotel. Its very old and still operating. I had a huge room, everything was ok. Bed super comfy, bedding ok. Breakfast is incredible ! So many options!!! Staff are super Friendly and always helped me booking my taxi with Dart 🤗🙏🏽 the only thing didn't like is the old style. I prefer modern hotels. All the room and hotel is very old, and the AC is so cold. Even I put it in ”fan modus only” at 30°c and it was cold.... Otherwise nice stay."

"The hotel is located quite far from the city center, but it does provide a free shuttle service to and from the airport. It is also not very close to the sea; however, this is not a major issue since swimming is prohibited at the nearby beaches anyway. Additionally, there are no cafes or shops within walking distance of the hotel, which makes the location even less convenient. The prices at the hotel’s cafe are overpriced. The hotel’s design feels somewhat outdated, but nothing critical. What was truly disappointing, however, was the service. The hotel presents itself as a 4-star property, yet it is surprisingly strict about a very basic necessity — drinking water. Guests are provided with only one bottle of water per person per day. There is coffee and tea available in the room, but to boil the kettle you need additional drinking water, which the staff refused to provide. They insisted that water had already been supplied during housekeeping and that no more was allowed. We had to keep asking for it as if they were personally paying for it themselves. That was extremely unpleasant. The tap water is yellow, and there were also issues with the hot water. Only one person works at the reception desk, which is clearly insufficient for a hotel with this many rooms, resulting in long waiting times. The reception staff are not knowledgeable about nearby attractions and do not assist with arranging tours, suggesting that guests find everything out on their own. Unfortunately, the overall service was extremely disappointing."

"We stayed at Embun in Brunei and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The property is beautifully maintained, blending modern comfort with tasteful local touches — spotless rooms, comfortable beds, and thoughtful amenities that made our stay effortless. The location is peaceful yet conveniently close to key attractions, and the sea views and surrounding trees were perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. What truly set Embun apart were the hosts, Diana and Jimi. Warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, they went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Diana anticipated our preferences, arranged excellent local recommendations, and made check‑in seamless with a friendly, professional manner. Jimi’s local knowledge was invaluable — from arranging transport to sharing insights about hidden gems around Brunei. Both were always available without ever being intrusive, striking the perfect balance between professionalism and sincere hospitality. The food recommendations and small personal touches (welcome refreshments, spotlessly clean bathrooms, and prompt responses to requests) made us feel well cared for throughout our stay. If you’re visiting Brunei and want a comfortable, restful base with hosts who make you feel like a valued guest, Embun with Diana and Jimi is highly recommended. We’ll happily return."

"The hotel's facilities are a bit old, but it's very clean, especially the sheets and bedding. There's also a balcony, which is great for drying clothes. The two staff members at the front desk, Sophie and her colleague (I'm sorry, I can't remember the other name!), were incredibly warm, friendly, and professional. They patiently answered all our questions. The hotel's location is excellent; it's within a ten-minute walk to the museum, Jame' Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque, the market, the water village jetty, and the bus terminal. Taxis are very scarce in this country, so being close to public transport is a huge advantage. To the left of the hotel is a supermarket, and to the right is a restaurant with affordable food. A big thank you to the hotel for the free airport transfer and the helpful tour map. My main purpose for this trip was to photograph proboscis monkeys, and the jetty offers convenient speedboat access to the Brunei River mangroves."

"I stayed for two nights at this hotel, and it offers great value for money. It's conveniently located within walking distance of a shopping mall, tourist attractions like the Old Mosque, and various restaurants. While the room isn't luxurious, it has all the basic amenities you need for a comfortable stay. Breakfast was a buffet on the first day and à la carte on the second. I personally enjoyed the mild, lightly salted flavors. The hotel also provides a pre-booked shuttle service, which I used to get to the airport and other attractions. Note that the gym and pool are managed externally; they are within walking distance but outside the main hotel building. You'll need to pick up a pass from reception to access them."

"Overall a good option for a budget stay in BWN, hotel offers complimentary airport pickup and drop which is a really good facility to have, as grab etc do not work in BWN ( you can download Dart through ) Hotel also offer a city bus tour ( excl Friday ) Location of the hotel is perfect for seeing the main sights ( highlife in pics ) and most things are walkable in that area , it’s literally around the corner from the Radisson and the Brunie hotel so if you want their location but on a budget then this is a good option Rooms are clean and serve their purpose but offer nothing beyond what s standard room would but that’s reflected in the price , I would stay again when in BWN"
