Everything was great. You don't even have to leave the JR station building to check in on the 4th floor. The onsen on the 6th floor was quite nice, though it could get a bit crowded during peak hours. The Blue Sky Lounge on the same floor was excellent, offering drinks, snacks, and a relaxing space. Breakfast had a good variety, and all the dishes were quite refined.

Is conveniently located within 5 mins walk from the aomori station Well the room is the conventional small size of most Japanese hotel. Opening up a 30’ luggage is tricky Location is the bonus point. We were lucky to be still able to catch a great dinner around the hotel when most restaurants are closed. Hotel provides great amenities and is very clean. It’s totally worth the price we paid

The hotel is within walking distance of Aomori Station and attractions such as the Nebuta Museum WA RASSE, Aomori Bay Bridge, and Setsuda Shrine. Directly opposite the hotel, there's a restaurant serving delicious Miso Milk Ramen. If you turn right upon exiting the hotel and walk towards the station, you'll also find a renowned local restaurant specializing in sashimi and various scallop dishes.

This hotel is located on Aomori's main street, about a 5-10 minute walk from the JR station. I checked in around 10 PM that night, and the front desk staff was incredibly nice and helpful. They meticulously explained the breakfast and check-out times, as well as the room cleaning schedule. Communication in English was seamless. The room size was quite large for Japan, and the twin beds could be pushed together. There's a Lawson convenience store downstairs, perfect for grabbing discounted rice balls and bentos every evening. The main street below the hotel also offers a wide variety of dining options, almost all of which are excellent. Most restaurants require reservations, but a little tip is to go around 5 PM to potentially snag a table without one. I wouldn't recommend the hotel breakfast, and frankly, I don't recommend any hotel breakfast in Japan compared to China due to the limited selection. The latest entry for breakfast is 9:30 AM, with food starting to be cleared at 9:45 AM and finishing at 10 AM – the meticulousness of the Japanese is something I just can't get used to! Later on, because we couldn't wake up early and didn't enjoy the food, we opted for convenience store rice balls and oden instead. However, the restaurant staff were still very friendly and professional. In conclusion, it's a bit of a walk from the JR station, but not too far. The price is on the higher side, but the room is relatively spacious for Japan, and the service is a big plus. I would definitely choose this hotel again if I return to Aomori.

Superb views, buffet dinner options, diverse indoor outdoor bath options with salt and clear water!! A rare gem  for families. Staff spoke English at front desk and restaurants, and welcome descriptions note is written in English as well. Alternate timings at bath for Men and women assures equal views for both. The outside open air bath at the beach is probably the hit and can get crowded at sunset and less so during sunrise. The open air bath attached to the indoor area bath offers better sunset views, from an elevation of about 30 meters. We (family of three) enjoyed it very much and probably rank it the best of our three prefecture experience with respect to the bath.

March 26th 2025 - Japan had Gale wind advisory which means the wind gusts were strong enough to cause JR and other rail services to be impeded by delays. Unfortunately this delay caused us 8-10 hours of our time. We had no option but to stay the night in Aomori as past midnight there are no public transportation services other than taxi. From Shin Aomori to this hotel it cost us just around 1000 yen which was well worth it - considering it was cold and windy. The Hotel is located about 5-8 minute walk away from 7/11 and a Lawson, maybe 10-12 minutes from the Family Mart. This is a Port city so it is unique in a way I cannot describe. Its quiet, yet there are karaoke bars and regular bars open well past 2AM - this is different than most cities in Japan. The taxi service here is strong; we used Go Taxi. Uber eats is possible here as well as we ordered around 12:30 am and got our food within an hour from order time - everything made fresh and the restaurant was slightly further than found in bigger cities. The hotel’s amenities were outstanding- all sorts of skin care, the standard Japan amenities (comb, toothbrush, razor, head band for when you wash your face, cotton swabs, you name it they had it. Well i mean to convey the fact that even higher end hotels dont carry nearly as much. The staff was extremely helpful and efficient. Used Papago to translate and communicate and there was no issue. Last minute booking 70$ and I was impressed considering ive stayed in hotels triple the price with less room, poor cleanliness, and overall disappointment. Not this hotel, extremely great and happy my fate led me to this hotel.

The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from Aomori Station, which can be tough with luggage if there's a lot of snow. The room was quite spacious, easily accommodating two open suitcases. I highly recommend the hotel's natural hot spring; it was very relaxing. The ramen served in the evening was also quite good and thoughtfully prepared. Breakfast was excellent and varied, a definite recommendation. Plus, there's complimentary apple juice and coffee available all day.

The location is excellent, just over 300 meters on foot from Aomori Station, right behind the Fish and Vegetable Market (where you can get 12 self-selected seafood bowls for 2000 yen). I agree with many reviews; the hotel is quite old. It has been around for a while, so there are no USB outlets whatsoever. The room size is decent, allowing enough space to open a suitcase. However, the bathroom is extremely small. How small, you ask? You'll hit your head when standing up from the toilet, and you're bound to bump into something when turning around. But, my significant other was very satisfied. Even though it's old and the bathroom is tiny, it has a large public bath and its own restaurant. The public bath is also open to the public, with a communal lounge area, manga, and chairs for relaxation, and both indoor and outdoor bathing options. So, the issue with the bathroom is tolerable. The hotel's restaurant operates until 11 PM, and my significant other commented that the food was good and cheaper than outside izakayas, offering a good selection of basics (rice bowls, noodles, steak, sashimi, fried dishes, etc.). Because it has its own restaurant, the breakfast area is also spacious, with apples and apple juice that were delicious. Overall, I highly recommend it.

11381600****The hotel staff were incredibly friendly. The Hakkoda Ropeway was canceled, and we were planning to take a public bus to Sukayu Onsen ourselves. When the staff learned of our plans, they proactively arranged a shuttle bus for us. We also found out about a snow hiking tour at Sukayu Onsen on Xiaohongshu and decided last minute to join it. A special thanks to the front desk attendant, OMA SAN, who helped us communicate with the hiking tour guide, allowing us to successfully join the tour and avoid any regrets on this trip.

GGuest UserThe hotel is about a 10-minute walk from Aomori Station and isn't on the main commercial street, but it's just around the corner from it. It's very close to Hirota Shrine, almost directly across the street. As soon as you enter the hotel, you're greeted by the scent of apples. There are apple models on display on the first floor, and the elevators are decorated with various apple illustrations and names. The breakfast selection is quite limited. While there are a few local specialties, the overall variety of dishes is too small. The scallop meat was very tiny and shredded, not whole pieces, putting it on par with the breakfast offerings at budget chain hotels.

FFengyuezhibianI've long admired the reputation of the Hoshino Resorts, and this was my first time staying at one of their properties. The ”Kai” series is supposedly a mid- to high-end resort hotel specializing in hot springs, but overall, I was a bit disappointed. First, the hotel's location is quite secluded, in the Owani Onsen area of Aomori Prefecture. It's relatively close to Hirosaki City, a mere 10-minute train ride away, but it's quite a distance from Shin-Aomori Station, the Shinkansen terminus, taking nearly an hour. This late September visit to Owani Onsen might have been off-season, but the temperature was pleasant, the crowds were sparse, and the hot spring village surrounding the station was tranquil. If you make a reservation in advance, the hotel's shuttle bus will pick you up at Owani Onsen Station, a roughly 10-minute ride away (though I later discovered the hotel is also a 20-minute walk, which is still quite close). But upon entering the hotel, the popularity of the Hoshino Resorts became apparent. The lobby was nearly full upon check-in, instantly diminishing the sense of tranquility. The hotel is small, but with 40 rooms, it feels much more commercialized than a traditional Japanese onsen hotel. There are no private baths, and the public baths aren't rotated, and the bathing environment is quite ordinary, with absolutely no special features. This kind of arrangement shouldn't be found in a high-end hotel focused on hot springs. I stayed two nights, with two nights and four meals. Meals rotate, as is typical at most hot spring hotels. However, the first day's meal was better than the second. Overall, the dining experience was only mid-range for this price range. Perhaps due to its proximity to the northern waters, the sashimi was decent, but the selection was mediocre. The other food was even less memorable.

GGuest UserMy main reason to go to Ajigasawa was to visit the Takayama Inari Shrine with its snaking Tori gates. It’s about a tenth the length and size of Kyoto’s. Found this ryokan by reviews in the area. It was a toss up between this and the nearby hotel; which turns out to be run by the same group! The ryokan shows its age. But it’s very comfortable, clean and the service, especially by Noro who used his translation app so well, was impeccable! They have map of the property in English. If you drink (alcohol), it’s available in spades! There’s unlimited snacks, water, soda, popsicles, coffee, tea and alcohol for guests. The onsen is open to public, it seemed like the whole village descends after dinner to have a dip! We spent one night: dinner and breakfast were excellent!
