I chose this hotel based on reviews from Trip.com users, and it really didn't disappoint. It truly feels like a royal palace garden hotel, and best of all, the price is incredibly reasonable. You can stay in such a beautiful place for just a few hundred yuan a night! Plus, you get free access to the Panmen Scenic Area next door, and the night view there is so stunning it feels otherworldly. We were even lucky enough to catch a 'datihua' (iron flower) performance, which was absolutely amazing. And their buffet breakfast is fantastic, really extensive, and only 68 RMB per person – such a great deal!

This hotel boasts a modern, minimalist style and is very clean. You can control things with voice commands, which is a nice touch. It's not far from the subway station, making it convenient to get to all the attractions. Shiquan Street and the Master of the Nets Garden are just a 10-15 minute walk away. There are plenty of local eateries around the hotel, plus an ALDI supermarket for groceries. When I checked in, they kindly upgraded me to a room with a window and allowed a late check-out until 2 PM, which was really helpful. They even gave me two small sachets when I checked out – highly recommend! 👍

1. This was my second trip to Nanjing. Last time, in March, I came for a marathon and a whirlwind 'special forces' tour. This time, it was a pure 5-day, 4-night leisure trip with two adults and one child (10 years old). But Nanjing is truly massive, so we still averaged 30,000 steps a day.
2. Nanjing's subway system is quite developed. Xinjiekou Station alone has 24 exits, which can be dizzying! However, most subway stations are still a bit of a walk from the main entrances of attractions. The key central transfer stations are Xinjiekou, Gulou, Dahangong, Jimingsi, Yunnan Road, and Shanghai Road – knowing these makes planning travel and booking accommodation much easier.
3. This time, we stayed at Jinling Hotel, one of the so-called 'Big Four Hotels.' We experienced both the newly renovated rooms in the Asia Pacific Tower and the Jinling Tower, as well as both regular and Dragon Boat Festival rates. The prices are indeed high. How to put it? I personally think its biggest selling point is its unbeatable location. (Overall value for money, compared to hotels in Hainan, Guangzhou, Tibet, and Yunnan, and even compared to hotels in Nanjing's Hexi area, isn't particularly high).
4. In the Asia Pacific Tower, we had a 50th-floor, 2-meter king-size bed room. The view from the window adds at least 30% to the room price. Excluding the bathroom, the main usable area is about 12 square meters. The bathroom has a separate shower and tub, and is wet/dry separated. The king bed is big enough for two adults and one child. There's also a short sofa, so a child under 1.4 meters tall could theoretically sleep there. Therefore, this room type could compactly accommodate two adults and two children (if both are under 10, and if the hotel allows).
5. Jinling Tower has two room types. Rooms marked as 'Yizhi' on certain booking platforms are newly renovated, while unmarked ones are older. The biggest difference is whether it has a shower or a stand-up tub. The Yizhi twin room has 1.3-meter beds, with a main usable area of about 6-8 square meters. The bathroom has a traditional layout: shower on the left, toilet in the middle, and sink on the right.
6. The breakfast in both towers seems to offer the same dishes. The Asia Pacific Tower's breakfast is on the 56th floor, and the window seats offer a truly good view, looking east and northeast. On a clear day, you can see Purple Mountain and Xuanwu Lake. Jinling Tower's breakfast is on the 1st floor, but the flow design feels a bit off, as there are too many tables packed too tightly. The breakfast is rich, satisfying, and features local specialties, but for someone from Yunnan, there's a lack of leafy greens and spicy options.
7. Both towers require key card access for elevators. Delivery riders cannot deliver directly to the rooms in either tower. However, if you include your room number in the delivery instructions, a robot can deliver it. The phone room to the right after exiting the elevator in the Jinling Tower also has a delivery locker. Anyway, there are tons of food options inside Xinjiekou subway station, so we barely needed delivery.
8. The lobby restroom in the Asia Pacific Tower is to the right of the front desk after entering. In the Jinling Tower, it's to the back-right of the front desk (outside the restaurant). The Asia Pacific Tower offers unlimited complimentary welcome drinks; the sour plum flavor is quite good. The 25-meter pool is in the Asia Pacific Tower and has no lanes. I tried it in the morning, afternoon, and evening, and could generally swim continuously without needing to consciously avoid others.
9. Overall, based solely on the room types mentioned, I'd rate the Jinling Hotel an 80-85 out of 100:
Breakfast: 16 points (personal taste issue)
Rooms: 14 points (Asia Pacific Tower) / 8 points (Jinling Tower new room)
Sleep Quality: 19 points
Amenities: 18 points (deducted 1 point for no drying rack in the bathroom)
Service: 19 points (soft services are excellent; Yunnan should learn from this)

Sofitel Lianyungang Suning is in an excellent location, right in the city center and next to Suning Plaza, making it super convenient for getting around and shopping. The room was clean and tidy, with a panoramic floor-to-ceiling window offering expansive city views. The bedding was comfortable. The front desk staff were warm, professional, and responsive. Overall, a very satisfying experience. I'll definitely stay here again!

Arrived at the hotel early in the morning after the Dragon Boat Festival, and they upgraded my room. The room was quite spacious, still retaining that classic Hyatt style. Surprisingly, there was a telescope in the room, though it wasn't particularly useful. The hotel's location is absolutely excellent. You can take the subway directly from Xuzhou East Station to right downstairs. Below the hotel is a bustling commercial street with shops and restaurants of all kinds. To the south, you can walk to Huilongwo and Hubu Mountain. Just across the street to the north is the Confucius Temple, the 1818 Night Market, and Fuguo Street is also nearby. Several must-try restaurants on the 'best-of' lists are all within walking distance. It's perfect for enjoying food and drinks without getting too tired, making it an ideal way to experience Xuzhou.

This place is perfect for business trips! It's quiet, spacious, and super close to the high-speed rail station. Plus, they offer coffee and late-night snacks, which is a lifesaver for us workers, haha. I think it'd be great for tourists too, because the rooms are genuinely huge and have everything you need. The staff also make you feel really safe and well taken care of! 👌👌

Pros:
The building's cruise ship-like design is highly distinctive and unique. Located right next to Jinji Lake, the entire building lights up at night, creating an absolutely stunning view when combined with the lake and the city's nightscape across the water. Evening strolls around the lake offer fantastic photo opportunities.
The frontline staff are excellent. The doorman actively helped with luggage, and the front desk reception was warm and courteous, responding quickly to any questions.
Cons:
The family room was cramped, seemingly converted from a standard twin room. Due to the hotel's curved cruise ship architectural structure, the overall space was on the smaller side. After placing the beds and children's toys, the activity area felt very crowded. The attention to detail was lacking; there was no step stool for children in the bathroom, which is a noticeable shortcoming compared to similarly priced family-friendly hotels.
The hotel has been open for some years, and the facilities are showing some age; the carpets in the public areas had noticeable stains, which was unsightly.
During the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, the swimming pool was extremely crowded. Coupled with the pool's age and small size, swimming felt very cramped. I recommend avoiding peak times if you plan to use it.

Newly opened shop, no taste. Environment, health and service are good. There are a lot of food nearby, Huaiyang cuisine and lobster can be tasted. Next to Heyuan, I didn't go in. I took a look at the hotel balcony and it was pretty good. You can go in and go around next time. It took about 5 minutes to walk to Pishi Street. At night, there were a lot of people who went to turn around, but there was nothing to buy. Take a taxi to the Grand Canal Museum and Slender West Lake is also a starting price, which is quite convenient. The Huaiyang Cuisine Museum is also good, it is now charged, remember that the first time you come is still free. Overall it is worth staying!

Before check-in, I received a message from Luanne at the hotel, who thoughtfully reminded us of all the details we hadn't even considered and made excellent arrangements. A big wish of mine when returning to Nanjing and staying at the Zifeng InterContinental was to see my alma mater, and this time it was perfectly realized. I saw my alma mater embracing the purple aura of Zijin Mountain, a moment I'll remember for a long time.
Hotel near Xuzhou Yunlong Lake Tourist Area/Xuzhou Amusement Land Resort,Xuzhou
GGuest User2026.06.26
The location is absolutely unbeatable. Yunlong Lake is just a few steps away, literally right next to a 5A scenic area. You can walk out the door and stroll along the lake, enjoying the breeze. It's about a ten-minute walk to Yunlong Mountain and the Han Portrait Stone Art Museum, and Xuzhou Museum isn't far either. No need to rush in the morning, perfect for a relaxed trip. Parking is free for drivers, and there are plenty of spaces, so no worries about finding a spot.
The hotel also upgraded our room. The huge floor-to-ceiling window offered a direct view of the entire Yunlong Lake. In the evening, the lake shimmered with golden light during sunset – it was incredibly therapeutic to just sit by the window on the sofa and relax. The bedding was just right, with both soft and firm pillows, so even those who prefer firm pillows can sleep soundly. The bathroom had a wet and dry separation, with both a bathtub and shower. The toiletries had a subtle, high-end scent, not a cheap artificial fragrance. After a day of sightseeing, a bath was perfect for unwinding. The cleanliness was impeccable, with corners and the vanity sparkling. It was a very comfortable stay.
Breakfast deserves a special shout-out! It wasn't the usual generic buffet. All the local Xuzhou specialties were available! Freshly fried dough sticks, 'laomo juan sanzi' (pancake rolls with crispy treats), and handmade 'jianbing guozi' (savory crepes) were all there. No need to wake up early and queue for local breakfast outside. The freshly cooked rice noodle station was super popular, and the beef bone broth was incredibly fresh. Western pastries and freshly ground coffee were also available.
The hotel's facilities are comprehensive. The constant-temperature indoor pool was super relaxing after a tiring day. The gym had enough equipment. The view from the executive lounge was absolutely stunning; enjoying a drink while looking at the nighttime lights of Yunlong Lake created an amazing ambiance, perfect for couples or friends. The Chinese restaurant served authentic local dishes, with delicious 'digou ji' (pot-stewed chicken) and Huaiyang cuisine. It was great to have the option to dine in the hotel instead of going out.
The service was warm and attentive. Check-in at the front desk was quick. We requested a high-floor lake view, and the staff did their best to accommodate. Special thanks to Bree at the front desk; she was very responsive to our needs, and her attention to detail was incredibly thoughtful.

CChuntianrannaifenBooked this place for a business trip to Nanjing and was pleasantly surprised. The room was very spacious, with a large bay window offering excellent natural light. The breakfast spread was extensive, and the shredded radish pancake was absolutely delicious! The lounge on the first floor was also very convenient for business meetings. My foreign colleague traveling with me also spoke highly of it. If I return to Nanjing, I would certainly choose to stay here again.

GGuest UserStaying at Liuxiang Hotel with kids was a fantastic experience! It's located in an old alley, offering a peaceful retreat amidst the bustling area, and you're right by the scenic spots. GGuest UserI booked Hanyuan because it is within walking distance to my folks home. And my grandma used to work at Nanjing Agricultural University, which the hotel is affiliated with. I read others’ reviews and knew it is an old facility. I did not have unrealistic expectations.
We arrived late at night. Taxi driver dropped us off at the side entrance that has numerous stairs to the door. We had lots of luggage. As we got out of the cab, we saw some staff member in the lobby looking out. Instead of coming out to help us, he walked away. My husband, myself and our seven year old all carried/dragged multiple items up the stairs to get into the hotel lobby.
We checked in and decided that we would need to add a bed for the kid. House keeping came quickly to set up the bed but was reluctant to provide pillows for the additional bed. I had to repeatedly ask before they agreed to bring an extra pillow. Don’t understand why there is such resistance to equip the additional bed with pillow- after all, we did pay for the additional bed.
Everything else was pretty good during our first three-day-stay. We then went away to visit families elsewhere for a week before coming back to this hotel.
This time, our car drove onto the ramp at the front entrance. As soon as we entered the building, lobby manager came to offer us help. He helped us deliver luggage to our room. We are very appreciative of his assistance.
We ran into some issues at the front desk this time. They asked for our passports again and took our pictures for a second time. When I mentioned that we were just here a week ago and all information was taken already, we were told that all information has been erased as we checked out. When we checked in/out the first time, we informed front desk that we were making the hotel our base camp and will be coming in and out a few times. It’s strange that they would delete our information and redo everything all over again.
Again we need to add a bed. House keeping brought a roller bed which has a stained mattress pad. I asked them to bring a clean one, they said they could not. They said they didn’t have any clean pads. They said the only option is to remove the pad and put the sheets directly on the mattress. They further suggested that since the sheet is clean, dirty pad doesn’t matter and that every mattress pad under bed sheets has urine stains. His words made my stomach turn but I was too tired to fight so they went ahead put sheets on top of the mattress pad that has a big yellow stain. Again I asked for pillows for the additional bed, they refused at first, upon my insistence, they agreed to bring pillows. They also took out a blanket from the cabinets under television and put it on the bed.
When the seven year old was ready for bed, I opened the blanket and realized it’s cover is dirty. It’s dusty and has multiple stings of hair on it. I called house keeping, a lady quickly bought over a clean duvet cover for the blanket but refused to take away the dirty one. She insisted that we keep the dirty duvet in the closet. I did not understand her rationale but there isn’t anything I can do. So that dirty duvet cover stayed in the closet.
Maybe I should not have come back to this hotel.

GGuest UserThe room was filled with sunlight, and both the hotel itself and its surroundings were quiet and comfortable. The TV was huge, you could cast to it, the picture quality was unbeatable, and the sound system was also great! The staff were all very kind and made us feel welcome. The hotel's saltwater pool was also very nice. The only minor drawback was finding some uncleaned hair on the toilet and sofa in the room. While it was a small flaw in an otherwise great experience, it would be even better if they could pay more attention to these details.

Check-in Experience
We arrived early at around 6 AM due to the difficulty of booking train tickets during the holiday season. Although check-in was at 3 PM, the staff kindly accommodated us with an early check-in for an additional fee.
Accommodation
We stayed in two types of rooms during our visit:
Single Room - Spacious and located in a peaceful, quiet area of the property.
RV Room - Situated near the camping area where families and friends gather around a large bonfire for singing, BBQ, and games.
**Ratings**
Staff: 8/10 - Friendly and accommodating throughout our stay.
Shuttle Service: 10/10 - The driver was exceptionally pleasant and always smiling. Since my daughter has asthma and walking long distances is difficult for her, we frequently requested shuttle service between locations. This was especially helpful as ride-share drivers typically drop off at the entrance, which is quite a walk from the rooms and facilities.
Breakfast: 10/10 - Excellent variety of traditional Chinese dishes. They were accommodating when my husband requested takeout.
Cleanliness: 10/10 - Both rooms were clean, including the beds, towels, and bathrooms. As my daughter’s asthma is triggered by dust, I was pleased that the rooms were clean enough that she didn’t experience any sneezing or symptoms. We all slept well for the entire five days.
**Things to Consider**
It’s highly recommended to have your own car, as the property is quite far from the city center.
If you enjoy nature and outdoor activities, this place is ideal. Activities include:
- ATV rides
- Fishing area
- Playground (note: adults are charged rather than children, so it’s more economical for only one adult to enter)
- Small animal area featuring rabbits, ostriches, and llamas (15 RMB entry)
- Train ride (30 RMB)
The coffee shop has a wonderful atmosphere and aesthetic appeal, making it popular for photos. The property itself is spacious and perfect for leisurely walks. There’s also a temple nearby, approximately 20 minutes away by car.
**Challenges We Faced**
My daughter developed a fever and experienced diarrhea during our stay. When I called the front desk for help, the staff member wasn’t very accommodating and suggested my husband go buy medicine. This was difficult for us as foreigners who don’t speak the language well. I felt sad and helpless, especially when we couldn’t get any taxis or cabs to pick us up. We wanted to take her to the hospital, but no cabs were available.
However, the next morning, a staff member spoke with me who was extremely kind and accommodating. They even offered to drive my daughter to the hospital, which I declined because we needed to catch our train and she was feeling better after taking medicine. They drove us to the South Railway Station and thoughtfully gave my daughter bags and drinks. It was a very kind gesture that we truly appreciated.

They upgraded our room to one with an open-air balcony – too bad it was raining, so we couldn't enjoy the breeze! Haha. The room was very clean, and the amenities were excellent, even Shuuke toothpaste! They also gave us a pretty little fan when we left. The hotel's location is perfect. UUntamedFootprintsLocation is convenient as there is a mall, night food street and a nearby tram station.
The front office is located on the 5th level; not on the ground floor. But there is an entrance on the ground level for hotel guests. The front office lady who did the room check-in for us is helpful. However, the rest are less than friendly.
There is an in-room safe which is rare for hotels in this category. When we attempted to use it, we realized that it couldn’t be locked. Front office sent a maintenance staff who encountered the same problem. As a result, he replaced it and the issue was resolved.
There was an eye-opener incident with the in-room safe which convinced us not to use it. We returned to our room on the second night (21st March 2026) and couldn’t open the safe door. After a few failed attempts, we contacted the front office which sent the same maintenance staff who replaced our safe the previous night. To our surprise, he opened the safe with his personal code. I would think a decoder or gadget of some sort would be required in order to open the safe.
There was central air-conditioning which proved insufficiently cold. We had to open the window to cool down the room.
Terry slippers were not the standard setup. Plastic slippers were provided. However, terry slippers were provided upon request.
Plastic bags are not provided with the rubbish bins. Unhygienic!
Only a box of tissues was provided. Most hotels provide 2.
The refrigerator isn’t cold enough.
Coffeemate was provided. It should be drip-coffee.
The master switch was located next to the room door which was very inconvenient. In most hotels, it’s at the bedside!
The shower cubicle floor and sink countertop have stains.
Hair-conditioner was not provided. Instead, a conditioning shampoo was!
There was only 1 wall hook. There should be at least 2.
Water seeps through the shower cubicle door. This can cause injury should one slips.
There were only 2 washers and 2 dryers. They looked like household type; unlike Atour which is commercial type thereby more powerful. In addition, you have to manually add the detergent as it doesn’t not dispense automatically. There’s pros and cons to this arrangement.
The washing and drying was a nightmare! It takes 50 miniues to wash and 90 minutes to dry. The ‘standard’ is 30 minutes to wash and 35 minutes to dry. There was one time when it took 105 minutes to dry our pants!
Timing is good; 6:30am to 10:15am (weekday) and 6:30am to 10”30am (weekend).
Breakfast was delicious and had a good range of food. It came with bread and butter pudding! Food was constantly replenished.
Staff service was excellent! They aim to please. So, 4 stars service is for the staff who served at the breakfast area/restaurant.
On the whole, we get the impression that the hotel management is trying to cut operating cost except for breakfast.
GGuest UserWe stayed 1 night in this lovely hotel on a Sunday night. We managed to check in early at 1 pm and was upgraded from the 30 sqm king room we booked to a larger 41 sqm room. The room is new and used lovely bath amenities, an Australian hotel brand. Our stay came with a set dinner for 2 persons and the food was delicious. The pricing in the hotel restaurant is similar or cheaper than any other regular Chinese restaurant outside. We paid the next day at lunch time to eat Chinese food at the hotel again as the restaurant environment is nice and service is good. They have a very well equipped gym which unfortunately we did not have time to use during our 24 hour stay. Our room rate included breakfast and the selection was generous, the only negative would be the coffee beans they used are too acidic but that’s a personal preference. The location of the hotel is slightly to 1 side of the Suzhou old city but some sights like 网师园 are walking distance. Suzhou city is actually quite spread out, no one location is best for sightseeing. The great thing is didi only cost less than RMB10 per ride from this hotel so it is still very convenient. I would not bother with the Suzhou subway, it is not as convenient as the one in Shanghai. Oh yes, the cable TV have english programming which is nice for a hotel in China. I believe this Artyzen Habitat brand is managed by the Macau Shun Tak group. Will stay here again for good value and service. 这个酒店非常好,值得回来再住。五星级的设施,四星级的价钱。
