The room was incredibly clean and cozy, and I could see Mount Fuji right from my window once I pulled back the curtains. My favorite ******** parlor was just downstairs, which was a huge plus! It was also super convenient for grabbing things from the convenience store or finding a place to eat. The hotel's dinner with sashimi and beef was delicious, and the breakfast offered a great variety of options. The restaurant also had a direct view of Mount Fuji, and the service, as expected, was excellent. The hot spring was fantastic—you could soak while enjoying the mountain views, creating such a peaceful atmosphere. I'll definitely be back!
Staying here when visiting Fuji-Q Highland is incredibly convenient. You get priority park entry in the morning, and you can even register your facial recognition for the park directly in the hotel's basement. The highway bus stop is right outside the hotel. The breakfast restaurant offers stunning views, and the food selection is both diverse and delicious. I also booked dinner, which was equally satisfying. The executive floor is definitely worth it!
The room was clean.
Amenities were provided.
The breakfast was varied and delicious.
It was a wonderful hotel with a Japanese feel throughout.
I also used the large public bath,
but there was visible dust on the fan in the changing room.
The ice cream and lemon water after the bath was very good.
I would like to use it again.
I'm currently staying at the Tokiwa Hotel in Kofu and I already miss it. I could feed the koi in my room, and living in the gardens was a delight. The hotel offers a shuttle to Iwa Onsen Station at fixed times, but reservations are required. I asked Ctrip to make reservations, but they couldn't get me there due to the low number of guests. Taxis are also available. It's not quite walking distance, but the ten-minute drive is enough. Upon arrival, I saw koi everywhere, along with many unique rocks and several breathtaking gardens. My room was a Japanese-style A-shaped room on the first floor, right by the water, where I could feed the koi. I loved it so much I bought four bags of fish food. When I booked the room, I didn't have a room for two meals, but I asked Ctrip to add breakfast and dinner in advance. We didn't have time to book dinner at the hotel, so we had dinner on the first floor in our room. It cost over 14,000 yen. The service and the girl who brought us to our room were very nice, friendly, and attentive. Although she didn't speak Chinese, she was very attentive and gentle, and a very nice person. The dinner was a bit average, but the Wagyu beef was delicious, and it was a pleasant and enjoyable meal in our room overlooking the gardens. Breakfast on the second floor was a bit simple, around 3,500 yen, which is not expensive. The downside is that the first floor is too close to the water, and the sound of running water is noticeable at night. Fortunately, I brought good-quality earplugs; ordinary earplugs probably wouldn't have blocked it out. The bathroom has no windows and is on the first floor, and there's a small urinal that smells a bit. However, the curtains do provide blackout shade, which is a positive comment. The large hot spring bath is excellent, with a large open-air bath. The room also has an onsen, though the pool is a bit shallow. I didn't book a meal. There's a convenience store 500 meters away, and an izakaya across the street for evening dining. You'll need to look for one at noon, as the hotel doesn't offer lunch. The lounge offers excellent coffee 24 hours a day. This was a wonderful stay for koi enthusiasts. The hotel isn't busy, but it's well-maintained. The room's flower arrangements are fresh, the hairdryer is a RefA, and there's a piggy bank to keep mosquitoes away. I'd definitely book again. It's much prettier than the Tokiwa Hotel, whose rooms are filled with artificial flowers, which is rather tacky.
The location is easy for travellers with cars. Otherwise shuttle bus to town is not available all the time. Breakfast is good, dinner not so much. Wet and foggy during our star so couldn’t see much views. Staff don’t speak much English which makes the stay not pleasant. Hotel facility is great, and clean, nice resort when you have car and speak Japanese.
I booked classic room. A little old but spacious. Apart from that, it was amazing! B1 is for kids!!! They have alot of games/ stations for kids to play whole day! Onsen also included!! On good day, you can stars glazing too. They have lounge access for classic room too. Small snack section. Classic room really basic, dont expect too much. This hotel was my pit stop before heading back to Tokyo (:
The hotel staff provided excellent service, even offering a hand-drawn map for reference. The location is incredibly convenient; whether you're coming from Gotemba Premium Outlets or taking a bus to Tokyo, you can board right at the hotel entrance.
We were lucky enough to have a view of Mount Fuji from our room, which my friends absolutely loved for taking photos.
The front desk staff spoke good English, so communication was seamless.
The 150 JPY per person hot spring bath was an amazing value! On a weekday evening, it wasn't crowded at all, and it even had an outdoor bath. I imagine it would be absolutely beautiful if it were snowing.
Yamanakako Choju Inn was, without a doubt, the best accommodation I experienced during my 12-day trip to Tokyo. Even though our stay was only for a short night, it left an incredibly wonderful impression.
**Location & Environment:**
The inn is nestled approximately 500 meters from Lake Yamanaka and is incredibly close to the bus stop, just a 3-minute walk away, making transportation very convenient. The town itself is built on a slope, and the inn's slightly elevated position offers panoramic views of the surrounding buildings. It’s tucked away from the noisy main road. Taking an evening stroll below the inn, accompanied by the mountain mist, was truly enchanting. The clouds drifted between the buildings, ethereal as gauze, gently enveloping the quiet village. Walking alone, my footsteps muffled by the damp earthen path, I felt as though my very being was dissolving into the vast whiteness of the fog.
**Hygiene & Facilities:**
The inn's decor features traditional Japanese tatami architecture. Unlike the often cramped hotels in cities like Osaka and Tokyo, the rooms here are remarkably spacious. Opening the window, you're greeted with the fresh, fragrant scent of rain-soaked earth mixed with flowers and plants. The cleanliness is impeccable; upon entering the lobby, guests are asked to change into Japanese slippers, truly ensuring a spotless environment. The tatami mats and bedding were meticulously cleaned, and the traditional Japanese style immediately evokes a sense of comfort and relaxation upon entry. There were no unpleasant odors anywhere, and the soundproofing was excellent. A crucial highlight was the hot water supply – and the water heating system was spotless! The second floor boasts a very comfortable bath, fully equipped. Soaking in the tub after a busy day, shedding my clothes, felt like stepping into another world. The inn also offers bicycle rental services, which were literally half the price compared to those outside, making it incredibly convenient. On the walls, there are maps detailing photo spots and restaurants around Mt. Fuji, making it super easy to plan your itinerary for the next few days.
**Service:**
Both the kind lady at the front desk and the owner are Chinese, which made communication incredibly easy. During our one-night stay, they helped my friend and me tremendously. As two young men in an entirely unfamiliar environment, we naturally had many questions, and the lady at the front desk enthusiastically answered them all and recommended nearby attractions. The next day, as we were leaving, my friend and I struggled with buying tickets due to our lack of Japanese, but the owner kindly helped us book them online – which was an enormous help!
The experience this inn provided is truly beyond words. Photos P1-P5 show the interior of the inn and views within 300 meters; you can see the majestic Mt. Fuji standing tall just a short walk from the inn. P6-P7 are of Lake Yamanakako, very close to the inn. Taking a walk or enjoying the breeze by the lake in the morning or evening is a fantastic choice. P8 shows the inn's interior environment, which is very spacious overall. P9 is a screenshot of the owner helping me with a Shinjuku bus inquiry – a huge thanks to the owner! P10 is the Mt. Fuji navigation map displayed in the lobby. The last bonus picture is one my friend and I took that night. Although the photo is blurry, I believe this isn't a technical flaw but rather a profound memory, etched even deeper than a clear recollection, a gift from time itself!
The hotel service was excellent. They had a private car pick us up from the station and also dropped us off when we checked out. After checking in, both dinner and breakfast were meticulously arranged, and the onsen was very comfortable. My only minor regret is that check-out is quite early at 10 AM, which doesn't leave enough time for another dip in the onsen after breakfast. On the bright side, our room on the 3rd floor offered a view of Mount Fuji.
Facilities: The facilities here might look a bit dated, but they are perfectly functional and exceptionally clean.
Service: The service here is absolutely unbeatable. From the moment you drive into the parking lot, someone is there to assist you. It was my first time checking in while seated in a lounge area; the staff take care of everything for you. Then, a dedicated person escorts you to your room and patiently explains how to use everything – truly incredible.
Location: It's within walking distance of Kawaguchiko Station, but the hotel still provides five shuttle buses an hour for convenience. Plus, our room offered stunning views of Lake Kawaguchiko right outside the window. Of course, there are also rooms facing Mount Fuji.
Food: Dinner here is quite varied, mainly Japanese and Western, and the taste is excellent. Breakfast, however, is a bit sparse. It might be better to book a room without breakfast, sleep in, and then combine breakfast and lunch by eating out.

Ssiufungjeh🌸 Hotel Mifujien – A Front Row Seat to Mt. Fuji’s Majesty
If you’re looking for unparalleled views of Mt. Fuji, look no further than Hotel Mifujien. Nestled right beside Lake Kawaguchiko, this hotel offers one of the most photogenic and soul-soothing panoramas of Japan’s most iconic peak.
🗻 The View: Absolutely Breathtaking
The highlight of our stay was the view — and it’s no exaggeration. Whether it’s early morning when the summit catches the first rays of sunlight, or during a serene sunset, the unobstructed view of Mount Fuji reflected in Lake Kawaguchiko is simply unforgettable. I woke up early just to capture a time-lapse of the sunrise, and it was worth every second of lost sleep. We also filmed a sunset time-lapse, and again, Fuji didn’t disappoint.
⸻
🚶♂️ Getting There: Worth the Scenic Walk
Although the hotel offers a shuttle bus pickup service, we chose to walk from Kawaguchiko Station — and it was a delightful decision. The 20–30 minute stroll is scenic and peaceful. We even stopped by a local supermarket for some ice cream while enjoying views of Mt. Fuji in the background. It was an experience that made us feel like locals soaking in a perfect day.
⸻
🛏 Tatami Rooms: Authentic and Comfortable
The tatami-style room was clean, spacious, and gave us a deeply authentic Japanese lodging experience. Sliding doors, futon beds, and traditional touches made our stay both relaxing and culturally immersive.
⸻
♨️ Hot Springs: Cozy, Not Crowded
The hotel features both indoor and outdoor onsen (hot springs). While not particularly large, they are a nice bonus to unwind after a day of exploring. Since they only accommodate a few people at a time, it’s best to avoid peak hours.
⸻
🍱 Meals: Included and Delicious
Our stay included both breakfast and dinner, and the food was outstanding. A beautifully arranged kaiseki-style dinner showcased seasonal ingredients, fresh sashimi, grilled seafood, and hot pots. Breakfast was equally satisfying with a variety of small dishes and a perfectly cooked grilled fish. Everything was crafted with care and served with hospitality.
⸻
📝 Suggestions:
• Bring a tripod if you’re planning to do photography or time-lapses — the view is too good not to capture properly.
• Try both the indoor and outdoor onsen during quiet hours to fully enjoy the experience.
• Use the shuttle service if you’re carrying large luggage, as the walk (while scenic) do take around 30 minutes.
⸻
⭐ Final Verdict: 9/10
Hotel Mifujien is all about the view — and it delivers. Combine that with great meals, clean traditional rooms, and hot springs, and you have the perfect base to enjoy Mt. Fuji in all its glory.
EEvan 勾勾The location is more suitable for driving to, much like being in a forest resort. Although the rooms show signs of age, the space is very spacious and comfortable. While it's a bit inconvenient to walk a distance to reach the hot springs within the resort, it can still be considered a pleasant stroll.
MM238400****I booked this room specifically for the Mt. Fuji view. It was much cheaper than other hotels in the area, but really, all you're getting is the view and a place to sleep. I hadn't booked a room with an outdoor hot spring, but there wasn't even a bathtub in the bathroom, nor a large public bath. For this price, I really think there should be a tub. For meals, sukiyaki was the only option, so thankfully I'd bought some ready-to-eat meals at 7-Eleven. The view was good though.
GGuest UserThe location is easy for travellers with cars. Otherwise shuttle bus to town is not available all the time. Breakfast is good, dinner not so much. Wet and foggy during our star so couldn’t see much views. Staff don’t speak much English which makes the stay not pleasant. SShanghaiqianqianThis hotel might be the best value for money by the lake. It's directly facing Lake Kawaguchiko, and Mount Fuji is right to the left, so you can enjoy beautiful views without even leaving the hotel. The breakfast buffet is incredibly rich and the hotel service is excellent. Highly recommended!
SStephaniezdpThe room is a Japanese-style tatami, and there's a hot spring right on the first floor, located by Lake Kawaguchiko. Dining at night can be a bit of a hassle; if you don't want to eat at the hotel, you'll need to walk about ten minutes to an izakaya. Be sure to check the bus schedule at the entrance beforehand, otherwise, it's nearly a 20-minute walk to Kawaguchiko Station. There are buses to the outlet mall at 9:10 AM and 10:10 AM, but on popular days, it's advisable to buy tickets in advance as there might not be seats available if you buy on the spot. On-site purchases require a credit card or cash; Alipay and WeChat are not accepted. I imagine Lake Kawaguchiko would be beautiful during cherry blossom season, but in winter, I personally prefer staying at Lake Yamanakako for the beautiful lakeside cycling.
AAnonymous UserThe hotel staff can understand English and Mandarin, can communicate accordingly, and are very polite to guests. The facilities provided by the hotel are also good, and the hotel is next to the cable car attraction, which is very close and convenient. The hygiene is also good. Thanks to the staff for their help.

AAnonymous UserI love everything here, the room, the view from the room, the onsen and the dinner set. Just a couple of small things. When I asked if we could use the hotel bicycles, the front says it’s not for guests. However, I did saw a couple of tourists ride them the next day. One thing I think could be improved is, door lock is still using key. Would be better if changed to keycard.
ZZac ZhangThis is the BEST Japanese hotel I've ever stayed, best facilities and Services, with Mt Fuji view right in your room. We've requested to stay in room 442, which has the best view of Mt. Fuji from the Onsen in your room
