If you decide to go without a tour, you should definitely do two things: be prepared for a long line and study information about the place in advance to understand the full scale 🤲 So take a tour to avoid all this 😅 And, of course, visiting Beijing and not visiting the Forbidden City is strange 😑★

We really had a wonderful day at the temples and the palace. Beautiful to see. For a small extra charge, we even booked a boat trip to the Summer Palace. A nice mixed international group. The tour is in English and our guide Gary speaks the language well. He has an incredible amount of knowledge and knows how to convey it to the group in a very fun and pleasant way. Great guy!! Linda was absolutely amazing! She was not only a wonderful tour guide, but also a very kind, helpful, and caring person. She helped us with every little problem and always made sure that everything was going smoothly.
Her knowledge of Chinese history is incredible, and the way she explained everything made the history come alive. Her English was also excellent, and we could communicate with her easily throughout the entire trip.
We truly enjoyed our time with Linda and were very lucky to have her as our guide. Thank you so much for everything, Linda! ❤️

Sophia was great in explaining the details to us and also being very accommodative to both of the kids who asked the most random questions. She made it more engaging by asking random quizzes and the kids loved it. Also appreciate that she took us the opposite flow which helped us have less crowd during the tour. Thank you again Sophia 🙏🏽
