Stepping into the lobby of Shaoxing Hotel, I finally understood what it means to find luxury 'hidden' in Jiangnan. It’s not the ostentatious, gilded kind, but rather white walls and dark tiles, winding paths leading to private courtyards, like a meticulously preserved Jiangnan garden. Passing through moon gates, circling around rockeries and ponds, Fushan Mountain is just a stone's throw away, with lush tree shadows stretching right to the windows.
The front desk didn't hand me a room card, but a heavy brass key tied with a silk ribbon, feeling as if it could unlock the gates of some ancient mansion. The elevator walls were adorned with ink paintings, local masters' renditions of Shen Garden – the willow branches in the painting still drooped, as if you could hear the sighs of Lu You and Tang Wan.
Suddenly, I realized that a five-star rating isn't displayed on a wall; it's hidden in the details – the weight of that brass key, the warmth of a handwritten note, the uncontainable pride in the tea master's eyes when talking about tea.
The next morning, I was woken by birdsong. Pulling back the curtains, an old man was practicing Tai Chi in the courtyard, each movement slow, much like the pace of this city. Breakfast was at the buffet, and beyond the Western options, there was a dedicated Shaoxing snack station – freshly fried stinky tofu, freshly wrapped ai jiao dumplings, and freshly cooked Ciwu Dajian noodles. The chef, a local auntie, muttered as she cooked, “The broth needs to be ample, the noodles firm, and the toppings freshly stir-fried for the best aroma.”
When leaving, the front desk asked if my stay was enjoyable. I said it was excellent. Even after driving a long way, I looked back and could still faintly see the white walls of Shaoxing Hotel standing amidst the tree shadows. It’s not flashy, not showy, just like this city – reserving its best for those willing to slow down.

This hotel stay truly exceeded my expectations! Not only were the views from the window stunning and pleasant, but the service was also incredibly thoughtful and memorable. From the warm and attentive check-in at the front desk, to the housekeeping staff who promptly responded to requests and kept the room spotless during my stay, even the restaurant staff were meticulous, proactively recommending dishes and refilling tea and water. The entire experience was top-notch, and I will definitely choose this place again for my next trip!

Chose to stay at the Sheraton Huzhou Taihu Lake, and it was a wonderful experience with beautiful views and a pleasant environment, perfect for a relaxing family trip. We had butler service, and our butler was incredibly attentive, following up on every detail. The service was impeccable, really top-notch! The room was very clean with excellent attention to detail, and the facilities were complete and in great condition. Highly recommend!
Huzhou Giraffe Manor Hotel is, without a doubt, a fantastic place for kids. It has two main highlights:
1. You can find various small animals everywhere and interact with them up close, which is really fun.
2. During breakfast, you can get close to the giraffes and even feed them while you eat.
My child absolutely loved it! However, if you're visiting on a weekend, try to get to the restaurant before 8 AM for breakfast. Otherwise, all the seats near the giraffes will be taken, and people won't want to leave – and who can blame them, haha!
Now for a few drawbacks, mainly concerning the room facilities:
1. We stayed in a wooden cabin, and there was a persistent odor in the bathroom. I'd suggest the hotel place some air fresheners in the bathrooms, as the smell wasn't pleasant.
2. When the air conditioning was first turned on, there was a musty smell. It would dissipate after a short while, but we had to open the door to air it out. The downside was that opening the door let in mosquitoes, which was a dilemma.
3. Speaking of mosquitoes, they can be quite a problem during the warmer months.

The room was quite clean and quiet, and the view from the window was the Public Security Bureau, which gave a great sense of security. The second-floor platform is perfect for photos, especially at night when the lights are on. It's also very close to the exit of the pedestrian street. The hotel even helped us buy tickets, and we could freely enter and exit until 5 AM the next day. When the hairdryer broke, they quickly sent someone to fix it. We were so tired on the first day that we slept until almost check-out time around 11 AM, but when we asked if we could extend our stay, they let us check out at 2 PM. This hotel is really good!

I'm not sure if it's because I booked through Trip.com, but I always get rooms at the very end of the hall. This time, I was even placed right next to the restaurant. From 5 AM, I could hear the clanging of dishes and then the chatter of people coming in for breakfast. I didn't get any good rest. I also forgot some pastries I bought from the mini-fridge in my room, and the front desk didn't call to ask if I still needed them. They mentioned a 'small surprise' upon check-out, but I wasn't offered one, nor did I ask.
Pros: The staff member who helped with my luggage was really nice and proactive. The hotel's location is excellent, with a shuttle stop right outside and very close to the main street, which is super convenient. The dining environment is also beautiful.

The room was cozy, and the front desk staff were very kind and gentle. The hotel's location is excellent and super convenient. We were charged an extra fee for bringing a pet, but the front desk gave us a discount, which was nice. Overall, it was a great stay, and I'll definitely come back next time. Very satisfied!

Let's start with the issues: The package stated that the mini bar was free for the first round, but the fridge cabinet in the room was locked. The bedding felt a bit damp. The shampoo and shower gel had a slightly cheap, artificial fragrance.
Now for the positives: The guesthouse's location is close to the scenic area's exit, making it convenient for getting around. The facilities are complete, and I was surprised to find a water dispenser with direct drinking water. Plus, there was a switch on the stainless steel rack – was it for heating? That's a thoughtful touch. The breakfast selection was also plentiful.

The Hotel was absolutely gorgeous.
All staff from the beginning extremely helpful and supportive.
Starting with the smart check in person Nishant who speaks wonderful English, going on with the nice room service ladies to all people serving breakfast, the lovely chef from Xian with his great dishes.
The room is spacious with a great view to the lights of the close amusement places and wonderfully illuminated bridges.
We would certainly come back and enjoy life at the Marriott Taizhou.
Once you are in Taizhou please don't miss the yellow caves 黄岩石窟. People at the hotel will tell you how to get there .
Marvelous and unforgettable experience!!
True for Hotel and yellow caves!!!
Thanks!

GGuest UserThe hotel's renovation is quite impressive, they spared no expense, practically a complete tear-down and rebuild. There's absolutely no hint of an old hotel, which shows the owner's generosity. For a 22-story building, having 5 elevators is excellent, and it doesn't seem to be shared with office spaces.
Back in the room, the amenities are perfectly adequate. While the original room size couldn't be changed, everything else you'd expect is there. The only thing missing is an indicator panel in the elevators.
Breakfast: For the price, it really has everything you could ask for, including several live cooking stations for things like noodles and fried dough sticks, and it all tastes delicious. I'd even say it's better than the Yiwu Marriott. If I had to pick a flaw, it would be with the staff themselves; the training seems lacking. In just half an hour of dining, I saw the same man and woman chatting privately, pushing and pulling each other around.
Housekeeping did a good job overall, though I think they should pay more attention to checking the sofa in the future. Providing 4 bottles of Nongfu Spring water helps reduce the need for refills, which is a big plus. The teapots and cups are both attractive and high quality, and even the coffee cups at breakfast are excellent.
The front desk staff also deserve praise; the concierge on WeChat was always responsive to requests.
The delivery robot for takeout is incredibly fast, whether it's due to the order system or the robot's speed, I'm not sure. Either way, it was faster than I expected.
Given its proximity to Yiwu Tiandi, if they just improve the breakfast service staff a bit, this hotel, in every other aspect, offers great value. Even at a price point ¥50-¥150 lower than the Marriott, it would still be very much worth staying at.

MM702023****A big thank you to the butler and hotel staff! From the delightful room upgrade upon check-in to the thoughtful and attentive butler service throughout our stay, every detail made us feel incredibly welcome. The butler was both professional and friendly, always there when we needed something, yet also providing us with ample personal space—the service balance was just perfect. The hotel's location is also ideal for families; our child's highlight every day was visiting the squirrel park downstairs. Breakfast was delicious and the commute was convenient. We will definitely be recommending this hotel to our friends and look forward to our next visit!
AAnonymous UserThe room is very clean, comfortable and hygienic. Children like it very much, but I feel it is more suitable for couples because the design of the bathroom is a bit inconvenient for parent-child families. There is also a bathroom on the first floor, but there is no shower. Parents of the opposite sex have to take a shower in advance. Other than that, it is almost full marks. The service is very, very, very good. The brothers are very handsome and the sisters are also very beautiful. They have a strong sense of service. The housekeeper is responsive to every request. A care package is provided every day, which is a canvas cosmetic bag that can be taken away. The toiletries are lelabo, and there are enough drinks. The restaurant is not big, so make reservations in advance. The food is very delicate and the taste is good. Afternoon tea and hot spring bath are also provided. It is very, very, very comfortable!
AAnonymous UserI booked the Yiwu Marriott Hotel for a foreign client. Cici called ahead to ask about their check-in preferences and arranged the room exactly as I requested. The client was very satisfied with their stay. The room was very clean, and although the facilities were a bit dated, they were all well-maintained. The breakfast offered a wide variety, and the service was excellent; everyone greeted them when they passed by.
2206158****Family trip, the hotel is located in the city center, and parking is convenient. The best part is that both twin beds are 1.5 meters, which is great! The cleaning staff (auntie) was very enthusiastic, and the front desk check-in was highly efficient. The hotel only has an outdoor swimming pool, which is a shame because we couldn't swim in winter. The breakfast is more Chinese style; although the variety isn't super extensive, it's enough.
Uuncle royI've stayed here multiple times, and each time I walk in, it feels incredibly fresh and new. The decor and location are absolutely fantastic. The staff are so warm and welcoming, and the rooms are spotless. All the in-room amenities are quite new, and having a subway station right downstairs makes getting around super convenient.
JJingjinghebiancao1955This is a pet-friendly serviced apartment under the Ascott brand, with a cleaning fee of 500 RMB per stay. I booked an Executive Suite for three nights for 2532 RMB, and the price wasn't affected by the Chinese New Year surge. The room type is excellent, at 75 square meters, with functional divisions. It's even more convenient and well-equipped than a regular hotel, providing things that make a longer stay easier. My son had plenty of space to move around, and our hygiene habits are good, so the housekeeping staff always remembered to close the door quickly after cleaning to prevent our pet from getting out. 😊😊😊 I would definitely consider staying here again.
GGuest UserMercure Hangzhou Westlake Hubin is an absolute hidden gem in the city center! My stay was incredibly comfortable and rejuvenating, completely meeting and even exceeding my expectations. The hotel's location is unbeatable, right in the Hubin business district, within walking distance to West Lake and the subway station. It's super convenient for getting around, with all amenities nearby for dining, entertainment, and shopping. The room was cozy and comfortable, with soft, skin-friendly bedding and gentle lighting, creating a perfect atmosphere for relaxation. The thoughtful details really stood out: plenty of power outlets, a large refrigerator, and smart bathroom features, all showing great care. Breakfast was a real highlight; the extended dining hours meant no rushing, and the authentic Chinese soup dumplings and rice noodles, along with fresh Western breads, cold cuts, and exquisite desserts, catered to all tastes. What truly impressed me was the warmth of the service. All staff members were smiling, friendly, and responded promptly to requests, patiently answering questions without rigid protocols, which made me feel very welcome. It’s perfect for couples, friends, or family trips, ensuring a safe, secure, and pleasant stay. It’s definitely on my top list for Hangzhou; I'll be back for sure!
CcrushaoEscaping the city hustle for a two-hour drive led me to Huzhou naked Retreats Moganshan, a top-tier resort in the Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai region. It's the perfect place to unwind like the old money, with a weekend of pure relaxation that cures all fatigue. The century-old castle stands majestically atop Moganshan, its stone walls draped in ivy. Stepping through the door reveals cascading bamboo forests and mountains shrouded in mist. Its vintage European charm exudes understated luxury, with every detail showcasing a timeless elegance, perfectly catering to the discreet quality enjoyment favored by the discerning.
There's no need to rush. I woke up to watch the sea of clouds drift over the mountains from a lounge chair on the terrace, with mountain breezes carrying the scent of bamboo. In the afternoon, I indulged in an English afternoon tea at the castle, with delicate porcelain cups and exquisite pastries, all while gazing at the breathtaking mountain scenery from the window. Time simply seemed to slow down. As evening approached, I soaked in the cliffside infinity pool, embracing the mountains as dusk fell, washing away all traces of restlessness.
This isn't a place for quick sightseeing; it's for a pure weekend of relaxation, enjoying the slow pace of mountain life. The charm of a short getaway in the Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai region is truly captured here – living poetically within a century-old castle, harmonizing with nature, and savoring every precious moment.
