The view from this hotel is absolutely stunning; you can see the entire Sassi district at a single glance. It’s also very easy to access by taxi, which is a huge plus in Matera. The room was spotless, including the bathroom and sink, and the staff welcomed us with such warmth.
The breakfast was delicious, but the view from the breakfast area was the real highlight. Having breakfast here felt like a sightseeing experience in itself. If you're coming to Matera, I highly recommend staying at this hotel!

This hotel is pretty good. It is a resort hotel. When I booked the hotel, I chose a room type with 2 beds, but Trip.com passed to a third party and then to the hotel was a big bed. Because I arrived late, the waiters were off work, but the front desk still very nicely upgraded my room type, arranged a suite, and solved the problem in time, so this hotel is quite good. Room facilities are not bad, clean and tidy, this hotel nearby is definitely recommended.
The hotel is located in the core area of the old city. It is a hotel with a long history and cultural heritage. The balcony can see the panoramic view of the old city. It is very good location. The reception staff is warm and friendly, the room is spacious, very clean, the facilities are new, the air conditioning is easy to use, and the night sleep is very quiet. The parking lot is about 150 meters from the hotel, which is very convenient.
Excellent hotel but way out of town in a lonely industrial area, perfect for those with a car.
Wifi in some rooms is quite disappointing too.
other than that, modern facilities including swimming pool (closed in December obviously), ample car park, large bedrooms, and superb breakfast.

GGuest UserI recently stayed at the Aquatio Cave Luxury Hotel and Spa in Matera, and it was an unforgettable experience. The rooms are carved out of historic caves, offering a unique and enchanting atmosphere that blends modern luxury with ancient charm. The location is perfect, nestled within the Matera Sassi UNESCO World Heritage site, providing easy access to the city’s main attractions.
The hotel’s amenities are top-notch. I particularly enjoyed the spa facilities, which include a sauna, hammam, and a heated indoor pool. The staff were incredibly professional and attentive, ensuring that all my needs were met with a smile. The cleanliness of the rooms and common areas was impeccable, adding to the overall comfort of my stay.
One minor downside was the cost of some extras, which felt a bit high. Additionally, while the cave-themed rooms are stunning, they might not be for everyone due to the unique layout and lighting. Despite these small issues, the overall experience was exceptional, and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious and unique stay in Matera.
EedwardLYKA Timeless Gem in Maratea
From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and instantly felt at home. The property is stunning—spacious, beautifully maintained, and full of charm. We especially loved the private rocky beach with crystal-clear turquoise water—a rare find.
The hotel carries a vintage 50s–60s vibe but is well-updated for comfort. Though we didn’t get to use it this time, the tennis court was a nice bonus. Overall, a peaceful, elegant retreat that we can’t wait to return to.
There was a small miscommunication about sunscreen availability at the beach club—we were charged ( 59 euro for the sunscreen) at checkout without prior notice- as we thought they provide sunscreen when we asked for it at the beach. ( lost in translation 😛) It didn’t affect our experience, but clearer communication would have been appreciated.
Staff were lovely, warm, and helpful throughout. A true hidden gem—highly recommended for a relaxed, upscale getaway.
GGuest UserReally great one night stay. The hotel is very conveniently located for the autostrada. It was easy to check in and the reception staff were pleasant. We were advised parking was at the rear of the hotel where there was plenty of space. Our room was clean and modern, with a lovely comfortable bed.
We had dinner in the restaurant and were pleasantly surprised by the choice available, as we don't eat meat, there were vegetarian options and of course fish, and the quality was excellent. It was also reasonable in cost.
We had breakfast the next day where there was ample choice of scrambled egg (and bacon), cheeses, bread and pastries, cakes etc. Would thoroughly recommend.

RRowena Yin TingA nice boutique hotel with friendly staff at a good location with restaurants nearby. We booked two rooms - the room on 2nd floor is good but the one on ground floor smells a bit of mould. Perhaps because it’s inside a cave. Breakfast choice is limited with fruits, toast with tomatoes, and cakes. You can order boiled or scrambled eggs as this is the only hot food they serve. We are fine with that but more as fyi.
GGuest UserThis was our second time staying at this hotel. We specifically came to Mateta for one night from the Salerno area to enjoy the spa and dinner. As always it did not disappoint! The junior suite room was spectacular. The spa was amazing. The a massages were amazing. The restaurant they recommended for dinner was delicious. The staff is great. Left looking forward to our next trip back! See you soon Gattini!
YYingwuうkongLet me talk about the price first. I personally feel that the price/performance ratio is quite high. The price of one night is about four or five hundred and breakfast. This is a family hotel with about 5 rooms in it. Each room has a bed, a toilet, and a shower in the toilet. The room is very clean. Check-in needs to be checked in before 9 pm, call the merchant in advance, and check out needs to be refunded before 10 am. The proprietress is very good, and she helped me to make an appointment for a taxi when I was about to leave. You can give a five-star praise!
CCJFroVery enjoyable stay. Lovely staff. Nice coffee and breakfast though quite simple. Would have liked some fresh orange juice in the morning rather than the cheap from concentrate stuff. Very happy on the whole though.
On the whole good value for money for the sleeping in a cave house type place in Matera.
Extra marks for the hotels dog Peggy who is adorable :D
TTiantianExcellent experience overall! The lady at the front desk and the restaurant staff were incredibly polite (though there was an older gentleman at the front desk who seemed a bit cold, always on the phone). The hotel's location is superb and very convenient. We had a truly comfortable and pleasant stay. This really left a great impression of the country on us. Highly recommended!
