Breakfast is good and it gets lots of choices. Room size is acceptable. Air conditioning is not enough that it is quite hot inside the room. Maybe itbis cold outside and it switches to heaters instead of cooling mode.

The hotel's location is excellent, right next to Kyoto-Nishiōji Station on the Sanin Main Line, making it incredibly convenient for trips to Arashiyama and Kyoto Station. The hotel entrance is next to a FamilyMart, and it's an automatic door, quite discreet, so I initially had trouble finding it. The room wasn't huge, but the east-facing rooms offer a view of Kyoto Tower. The washing machine was a bit old. If you need to use it, you can get coins from the front desk.

This was our third stay at Agora Hotel Shijo Kyoto, and once again, it did not disappoint. The location is absolutely perfect—right in the heart of the city, making it easy to explore Kyoto’s highlights. Our room was spacious enough to comfortably fit two large suitcases, with plenty of space left to move around freely. The amenities provided were more than sufficient for a comfortable stay. We also appreciated the refreshing welcome drinks upon arrival, which was a nice touch after a long day of travel. Overall, a consistently great experience and we look forward to staying here again.

The room was a bit compact, but for this area, it was considered spacious. The cleanliness was impeccable, which I was very satisfied with. The location is excellent, offering a quiet retreat while being close to bustling areas with comprehensive commercial amenities. It's about 500 meters to Karasuma Subway Station, and Kiyomizu-dera Temple is a three-kilometer walk. The onsen facilities were a little small but still well-maintained, and it wasn't crowded before dinner. Great value for money.

Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Kawaramachi Jingo-ji A truly unique experience, only available at a hotel integrated with a temple, is the 'Morning Service Experience' (500 yen). Exclusively for guests, this Jodo-shu Buddhist service is held daily in the lobby. I received a paper detailing the service flow and participated from my seat. It was a refreshing and optional activity. I wouldn't recommend staying here if you're traveling with parents; it's incredibly cramped, and space is extremely tight for the price. Honestly, for over 500 RMB, you'd get better value and comfort at a budget hotel. **Facilities:** The space is extremely cramped. As shown in photo 2, the toilet and bathtub are practically on top of each other with no separation. Additionally, there's a raised step between the bathroom and the main area, which is a significant tripping hazard. **Environment:** The overall environment feels very enclosed and claustrophobic. I was quite taken aback to find a bar table just 20cm from the bed. **Service:** Chinese-speaking staff were available, but they initially provided the wrong door code, preventing me from entering the room.

Facilities: Well-equipped, spacious room with a cozy wooden design. Hygiene: Very clean, and the bathroom is large. Environment: Very close to the subway station, and the surrounding area is quiet. Service: Very welcoming, and they even gave us a small gift.

Great location if you take hankyu line train from Kyoto station exit 4 is just right in front of the hotel. The room is like normal Japanese size; small but organized. My mom and I both are big but still comfortable. And when you want to back to Osaka with luggages no worries, exit 4 has elevator down to B2 floor which is platform located. Near by hotel has family mart, bus stop which is take only 1 ride to go to lots of attractions such as Kiyomizu-dera, Hokanji temple, and Pontocho alley. Staff also great, they are so helpful, and if you are Thai bet your luck to find Thai staff 😀. I also booked with breakfast, their breakfast is so good like traditional Japanese things, but also has some bread and soup provided. Overall, I will 100 percent back here again for the next trip.

I had a great stay at Agora Kyoto Karasuma. The hotel has a calm, elegant atmosphere, and the rooms are thoughtfully designed with a minimalist Japanese style that feels both modern and cozy. The location is perfect, close to transportation, shops, and great local restaurants, which made getting around Kyoto very convenient. The staff were kind, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything I needed. Their hospitality made the experience even better. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and I would definitely choose Agora Kyoto Karasuma again on my next visit to Kyoto.

Excellent hotel with a fantastic location. The public transport links nearby are great; within a 5-minute walk, you can find subway, private railway, and bus stations. There's also a small and a large supermarket right next door downstairs, plus a convenience store across the street. A really good choice!
