The only downside was that crossing the road felt a bit nerve wracking due to the heavy traffic in the area. The owner was incredibly friendly and went out of his way to help us find the accommodation, which we really appreciated. The room itself was clean, the amenities were decent, and it was nice to relax and watch a few shows on the included projector system."

"Beautiful hotel located overlooking the lake. Room size was generous and room was clean. We booked a room meant for triple sharing. After requesting for extra bed for adult, no additional water and toiletries were provided. Also, the shower soap was not replenished and we had to request for it to be topped up. Same with other toiletries like hand soap, shampoo and conditioner which were only filled one eighth of the bottles. It's not what I would have expected from a 5-star hotel."

"This hotel is really great, and the views are fantastic too. The aesthetics have a beautiful Song Dynasty feel. We stayed in a courtyard room, which was incredibly comfortable. In the mornings, I could sit in the rocking chair, enjoying the scent of the flowers, and at night, I could watch the moon. The hotel breakfast was excellent (I absolutely loved the smoked fish!). The food at Zhuquxuan was also delicious (it truly deserves its Black Pearl rating!). Suzhou weather can be unpredictable. When it rained, instead of sightseeing, it was much nicer to just sit in the hotel bar, enjoying a drink and watching the rain."

"This hotel offers great value for money. The hotel itself is like a small Jiangnan garden, and the rooms are clean, tidy, and well-equipped. The toiletries are custom-made with a unique and pleasant scent; guests can even purchase their favorites from the hotel. Every day, they provide complimentary Nongfu Spring mineral water, plus two additional free beverages. The hotel's own restaurant serves delicious food, easily comparable to popular local eateries, and in-house guests get a 10% discount. The breakfast spread is extensive, catering to various tastes. What's even better is the complimentary late-night snack, which includes two or three small dishes, milk, soy milk, snow fungus soup, bean porridge, and peach crisps. A warm bowl of snow fungus soup before bed is just perfect. I'll definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends. Oh, and on the day I checked out, which happened to be my birthday, the hotel even gave me a special Suzhou gift – that was a really thoughtful touch!"

"Was not Impressed as there marks on the room floor and no carpet. Looks wirn out. Sofa cushion was loose and not firm so you sank in once you sit down. Washing machune and dryer requires a local number to start it and mine was a foreign number. Staff was nice to use their own phones to help. Breakfast spread is good and the chicken noodle soup is fantatstic. English tea was very diluted and not hot. So not really impressed with it. Cup in the room was not ideal to hold hot drinks as there was no.handle.so it was impossible to hold it and drink as it will be too hot to hold it."

Mo Ke Yuan itself is a Jiangnan garden brimming with history and cultural heritage, situated at No. 10 Daxin Bridge Alley, Pingjiang Road, Gusu District. The hotel provided a dedicated butler-driven shuttle service, conveniently taking us to and from the subway station and parking lot. The garden's layout is exquisite, featuring beautifully arranged scenery where each section boasts its unique landscape and charm. What truly touched me was that the hotel presented me with a massive branded cake, a wonderful surprise for my birthday. The garden's owner noticed our child was lively and active, a bit mischievous yet endearing, and surprisingly gifted them an expensive 'Zhuangyuan' (top scholar) brush pen! This trip was truly unforgettable, and I will definitely bring my family back to stay here again next time!"
