Hotel Don Diego by Ĥ
"We booked a couple of rooms here for an overnight stay with the four of us. It was easy to find and there was plenty of street parking. The reception team were friendly and helpful and our rooms were immaculately clean. We had paid a little extra for the garden view rooms which had their own balconies and overlooked the park. I'm so glad we did that as it meant we weren't facing the road and that is my only criticism here in that there is some traffic noise through the night, so I would advise other guests to do the same. Its location is great as its less than ten minutes walk to the area of town with all the restaurants and bars for an evening meal."
Vila Gale Isla Canela
"The first 2 weeks in October we booked AI at the Vila Gale on Isla Canela. The hotel cleanliness, all the Staff, the Spa and definitely the wine could be 4 Star. However the food was dismal and at times just like a cafeteria, very basic, bland, little variety, served cold (Microwave to heat it provided) and to insult the guests further salt and pepper are in teeny tiny packets stacked in baskets you have to remember to take back to the table with you. Not one cruet set in site in the only dining room available to AI diners. There was also the mystery of DessertGate, as the holiday progressed the desserts diminished until there remained a choice of one of two cakes or jelly with icecream. Without a doubt the worst AI Hotel food we have ever experienced anywhere in the world. Clearly TUI needs to be looking into the problems being encountered with the food as soon as possible before it takes bookings for another season. Something else we were disappointed in was that the resort and surrounding area was already in 'closed for the season' mode, hardly any bars, cafes open and no boat trips or ferries running to other islands and most of the chiringuitos on the beach were closed giving an air of desolation everywhere. That being said we enjoyed the company of all the guests we met."
Parador de Ayamonte
"We are fans of Paradores and always had excellent experiences in them! This one was not different. Spacious rooms, lovely views, excellent dinner and very friendly and professional service! Looking forward to our next parador!"

"Constant frustration at the lack of communication of hotel policies and reviews. One person says one thing someone else tells you something else. Have to work out for yourself where things are. Not everything is all inclusive unless you have the upper tier. Wasn’t made aware of this on booking. Stand at bar for ages waiting to be served while they serve whoever they want in any order they want. Supposed to be stress free holiday yet have constant annoyances and frustrations. Won’t return. A shame as it has so much potential"

"We have just packed to go home in the morning. This is our second time we have visited this hotel it is amazing from the staff that greet you to the cleaners waiters and top marks for all the chefs in the kitchens the food here is amazing so much chose all well cooked and displayed lovely. The drinks are reasonable 3.60 euro for a glass of wine which is very nice. We used to have our meals further down in the dining room it was like an orangery bit quieter in there. Our room was cleaned every day clean towels every day rooms always smelt lovely when they had been cleaned. If you like walking it’s mostly flat walks along the front you can walk round to another little village by the sea a much cheaper supermarket there. We used to stop off and have a small lunch at the English bar that is round the marina excellent food and you get a. proper pint of beer for 4 euro. The hotel has lifts all working ok. Last year we stayed in a room watching the fishing boats coming in and out but found it a bit noisy early mornings and late at night if you want a quieter room just ask. Woukd we stay here again yes we would I can honestly say in the 20 years we have been having holiday this has been the best one we have stayed at. Oh I must mention the guys round the pool this morning showing us how to make sangria also drink it they were very good. Always fresh fruit and lovely selection of breads"

"OK the hotel is in a very quiet and peaceful area, very close to the beach and its beautiful walks. And its architecture is very pleasant. OK the rooms are nice. They could be bigger - and the general impression will also probably depend on the size of the terrace you have. OK the buffet meals offer a very large and healthy choice. OK the outdoor pool is very nice - the inside pool as well but the area is very small and can only accomodate amax; od ten people at a time, which is clearly not enough. The animations (aquagym, evening shows) are nothing to write home about. The animation team members are young. They are unsmiling. Their level of English is hilarious. The all inclusive and all inclusive+ formulas are very surprising and disappointing, since they are quite expensive and only offer you a 50% discount on a large number of drinks, which I had never seen anywhere else. Some members of staff in the restaurant are very rude. And I still cannot believe that on the day of our departure (at 6.30 am) it was impossible for us to get access to the restaurant and have even a light breakfast - which is unheard of and unacceptable."

"we rented out an appartment here for a little less than a week. The town is small, so i would definitely recommend having a car in this area, unless you're fine with only staying at the pool and/or beach, and staying in the immediate area for food — the area is blocked off by waterways on all sides but you can take a ferry into Isla Cristina for a few more options (also small though) We took a day trip to Sevilla and Olhao portugal from here, which were very doable. The appartment itself was fine, nothing too special. The kitchen is small but has everything you need. Bathroom had a smell. sadly we didn't have nice neighbours, they were Brits who played loud football games and music all day, and they didn't listen to our requests to tone it down. The staff said they couldn't help us. We were also missing linnen for one of the beds. we went to the desk a few times in the afternoon before it was finally delivered around 21:00. The pool area is nice but it depends which part of the resort your rooms are in, which pool you can use. Since we were in the appartment area, we had one pool available. The hotel had 2 + a slide, and daily dances / music to entertain the children attending. We definitely preferred our side, but the sound from the other pools was present most of the day. There's many exts and entrances to go to the beach, it's only 5 mins away, which is great."
