"I was booked in for work and had booked an additional night privately. I had such a terrible nights sleep that I did not stay for the additional night. I requested a refund but never heard back. There was no air conditioning in the room and the windows only opened a few inches. It was unbearable. From 5am there was continuous noise from below. Vans delivering, bins being emptied. I gave up trying to sleep and went down to the gym at 6am. I was like a zombie for the conference through lack of sleep."

"A poor example of a well placed Holiday Inn. The room was unfortunately very poorly cleaned . There were stains on the bedside tables from mugs and glasses . Something had also been spilled on one . The same for the furniture unit . The chair was badly stained . Even though it calls itself a ultra cleaned , covid safe hotel. Around the inside window frame there was a considerable amount of black mould , particularly in the corners . Finally , the was no anti slip mat for the shower. When I reported it. There was no offer to get me one . I requested an additional towel and was given 6 , ‘just in case you don’t see us again’ was what the housekeeper said . The restaurant was fair if late at night with no other option . I chose not to have breakfast the 2nd day. I would not recommend this motel to anyone despite the proximity to the M4 . Anyone’s money can do far better elsewhere and I would suggest they do that. I have emailed the manager directly and I have emailed the front desk for the attention of the general manager and in 6 weeks have not received an acknowledgement. I will not stay in a Holiday Inn property anywhere in the world in future because of this experience and lack of concern by the general management."

"The only reasons I gave 4/5 stars for service was the self service hot beverage station and making your own toast. Order their specials better, however, this time my poached eggs were not soft. Excellent wine and excellent bar lunch which they allowed us to eat in the restaurant which was a bonus. I love this location. Walks through the wetlands and to Penarth and easy links to Barry Island. Spa brilliant and the quiet area next to the gym brilliant for reading"

"I had an enjoyable stay at the Staybridge suites in Cardiff. I had a good size room with amenities such as all kitchen needs etc. Good lighting in the room and bathroom, shower had two head options, and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast is available and topped up regularly..even 10 mins before ending. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful and attended to our requests promptly. There is a car park on site however, it does get quite filled up by the end of the night so it is first come first serve. Overall, a very nice stay."
