Relax on the porch seating or take a stroll to the beaches of Lake Superior. Enjoy a private sauna or bonfire while watching the skies or take to the endless hiking trails Cook County has to offer, the options are endless!Our cabin is located on a 40 acre parcel just off a private very well maintained road. Privacy is well maintained for a quiet getaway. Full of wildlife in the undeveloped area, we’ve spotted various types of animals and birds ranging from small to large. The 14x28 cabin offers a poplar and hickory built kitchen for food preparation needs, with a faucet for cleaning, and a neat dining table to eat with space. 7 windows are provided for a look at nature along with blinds for privacy along the sleeping area. Fridge/ freezer to keep food/drinks cold. Sleeping offers a queen size log bed for a needed nightly recharge. Enjoy outdoor dining or watch as a campfire crackles. Rock fire pit provided along with birch firewood for a sweet and soothing chance to enjoy the warmth. Clean and spacious outhouse is provided for bathroom needs.Enjoy the off grid experience while being able to keep your food and drinks cold along with indoor/outdoor lighting. 4 USB outlets are provided along with cigarette lighter ports for charging needs.House Rules: -This will be based as a “glamping” type experience. “Leave it as you found it” and let others enjoy the space. Cleaning supplies are provided for an easy refresh! This helps keep stays more affordable if we all can do our part.- Water is all carry in!To use the sink we provide a fill jug that has to be placed back in cabinet after filling to supply the faucet. Dump bucket under sink drain. - Pack in your own bedding to enjoy your favorite comforters and pillows. - Easy access is provided with an electronic keypad for easy entrance/exit.- Guests are welcome to hike around the entire 40-acre parcel along with all adjacent federal land, up to 200 acres. Lots of leg room for adventures!- We provide dry birch firewood for easy and clean outdoor burning, toiletries, and all cleaning supplies needed plus garbage bags for a clean and fun experience.- Take note of recommended burning times as we would ask all guests to not burn during any dry times, for the safety of you, and anyone else along the north shore!- While we have 12VDC power available for lighting and USB outlets, our standard 120VAC power is not available unless a generator was plugged into the back of the homes inlet.
