"I had an outstanding stay at The Catalyst Hotel in Sandton. From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm, professional, and genuinely welcoming, making the check-in process smooth and effortless. The rooms are modern, stylish, and impeccably clean, with comfortable beds and thoughtful amenities that made it easy to relax after a long day. The attention to detail throughout the hotel is impressive, creating a luxurious yet comfortable atmosphere. One of the biggest highlights is the hotel’s excellent location. It’s conveniently situated close to Sandton City, Nelson Mandela Square, and the Gautrain, making it an ideal choice for both business and leisure travellers. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of fresh, delicious options, and every meal I had at the restaurant was of excellent quality. The facilities, including the gym, pool, and spa, are well maintained and add tremendous value to the overall experience. What truly sets The Catalyst apart is the exceptional customer service. Every member of staff went above and beyond to ensure my stay was enjoyable, always greeting guests with a smile and a willingness to help. If you’re looking for a modern, comfortable, and well-located hotel in Johannesburg, I highly recommend The Catalyst Hotel. It offers outstanding value for money and delivers a level of hospitality that makes you want to return. I will definitely be staying here again on my next visit to Sandton."

"I loved everything about this hotel. I got drinks menu on arrival which was served free of charge, wasn’t expecting that in South Africa🤪🤪 Check in was super quicknand smooth, beautiful room with proper amenities. The hotel is in a good location sorrounded by nature. The services was 10/10, with super friendly and helful staff. I was impressed by the breakfast options and the restaurant itself….stunning and aesthetically pleasing. I didn’t like their cocktails menu🥺🥺 they don’t have classic ones. 90% of their cocktails are made with sminorf 18/18 which isn’t cool. Overall, this is a great hotel and would definitely come back!"

"This hotel comes highly recommended. It's only a few minutes' walk from Sandton Station. The only downside is the lack of an underground parking garage. The hotel facilities are of good quality. When you check into your room, make sure to check the door lock yourself. The first room they gave me had a broken lock, but they promptly changed it, and then everything was fine. The front desk service was excellent. When my tour guide arrived at 6:00 AM for my day trip and couldn't find me in the lobby, the front desk didn't give out my room information. Instead, they came to my door and knocked to let me know the tour agency was waiting downstairs and I should go down as soon as possible. The security guards also helped point out which vehicle was for my booked day trip. The service was great, and the surrounding area is reportedly safer than the downtown city hall and prison areas."

"This is a great hotel , in a good location. The check in was smooth, room service is a bit slow though. House keeping is excellent, I like them so much . The facility is great but I didn’t like the pool area , is always packed with so many people. Some of them weren’t even guest at the hotel . Which make it a bit unsafe to leave your belonging just lying around. I mean you have to pack up everything every time you go to the loo. The pool area had no space to sit and chill on especially in the afternoon. The bar takes a bit long to prepare drinks . The waitress/waiter were amazing. I just didn’t like the check out time . 10 am it’s too early and they weren’t keen on extending with just one hour . I don’t think I’ll book again . Safety issues. If other people didn’t have that much access to the hotel I wouldn’t mind staying there again."

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Still One of My Favourite Hotels in Sandton! I’ve stayed at @Sandton Hotel before, which is exactly why I chose it again for a much longer stay this time. I’ll start with the only hiccup. I booked in February 2026, when free parking was one of the reasons I chose the hotel. By the time I checked in, the parking policy had changed and there was now a charge, which came as a surprise as this wasn’t reflected anywhere in my booking. Thankfully, the hotel handled the situation very efficiently and honoured the conditions that applied when I booked, so I didn’t have to pay. Fantastic customer service, but definitely something future guests should check when booking. Outside of that, @Sandton Hotel remains a firm favourite! The staff are lovely, the hotel is clean and beautifully maintained, and the team is incredibly responsive to guests’ needs. I always feel safe here, the location is extremely convenient, and the breakfast is fantastic. And as you can probably tell from my photos, I simply could not get enough of those gorgeous sunset views! 🌅 Another wonderful stay. Highly recommended!"

"This hotel is was definitely one of my favorite stays. I made my booking around 7pm for a stay later that same night, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating throughout the entire process. The rooms are impeccably clean and wonderfully spacious, easily ranking among the best hotel accommodations I've experienced during my visits to Johannesburg. The attention to detail and commitment to guest comfort is evident in every aspect of this wonderful establishment. From the warm welcome at the front desk to the well-appointed, comfortable rooms, this hotel has exceeded my expectations and solidified its position as one of my top preferred places to stay in the city. Although bathrooms may need a bit of an upgrade, I am confident that I will be returning to this hotel on my future visits to Johannesburg."

"The hotel is conveniently located close to the station, literally a 5-minute walk away. The grounds are large and secure. The restaurant near reception is very pleasant with decent food, though the wait was excessively long. We waited almost an hour for a burger... Otherwise, the room has everything you need, including dishes. A hairdryer is available upon request. The soundproofing isn't great, but luckily our neighbors weren't noisy. Breakfast was a bit repetitive but very tasty. The potatoes at Pablo's restaurant were particularly impressive."
