"The service was great but we chose this hotel because it had a spa bath and was on the cheaper side. Well our first room the spa bath didnt have hot or even warm water. In the second room they didnt have the spa bath but the shower leaked badly all over the floor. On top of the shower leaking our tv didnt work either. We could only watv. Highly disappointed. My fiance and i will never stay here again. The only good thing was that the rooms were clean."

Bolivar and Harpers Ferry are adjacent to the national park protected wilderness area, and the wildlife hasn’t heard about property lines yet! You may see wild animals on the property during your stay. In the early morning and late afternoon, deer will stroll over from the national park to graze on our grass. Possum and raccoon will roam the alleys looking for a snack. You may even see a snake or two or a big bug. These critters are all part of our ecosystem and we treat them with respect and caution. Down River Inn is a beautiful vacation rental in Harpers Ferry. We have 4 other nearby full vacation rental homes in Harpers Ferry and have been hosting visitors since 2011. Conveniently located in a semi-rural neighborhood setting with large yard, hot tub, fire pit and large field in the back. The home has cable internet and wifi and free off-street parking.
Slope side home in the winter months to Snow Riders which allows for excellent access to the tubing runs. Lights and potentially other guests on the slope may be seen from the home.
Info on the heat and air conditioning:
1 On cool nights, there is a gas stove in the living room for your enjoyment. Please only run the gas stove when you are in the living room. It is warm enough that the regular house central air will not turn on and the rest of the house may get cold if left running.
2 There is a thermostat in the hallway for the main level and upstairs heat and air conditioning. Vents can also be adjusted if it is too hot or cold in the upstairs vs main floor.
3 the basement has 2 thermostats - 1 for a/c on the far wall and one for the baseboard heat on the left wall. Please only turn on one at a time or they will “compete” with each other.

1 On cool nights, there is a gas stove in the living room for your enjoyment. Please only run the gas stove when you are in the living room. It is warm enough that the regular house central air will not turn on and the rest of the house may get cold if left running.
2 There is a thermostat in the hallway for the main level and upstairs heat and air conditioning. Vents can also be adjusted if it is too hot or cold in the upstairs vs main floor.
