First day the internet didn’t work and was fixed the next day .very windy and cannot swim or dip in the beach full of corals and swell too strong .the hotel could do some renovations to room and upgrade linen since it’s not worth the price you pay .maybe consider enclosed eating area for those who don’t appreciate being annoyed by bugs flying around you , there seemed to be a wasp nest just outside my bathroom . Food was great and staff accomodating to change things around . There was no charge for room service which is a plus ."

"There were too many negatives to list here - but the worst was the cold shower after 1 minute of hot water , an air conditioner that leaked water all over the furniture and floor, poorly maintained facilities, food items not available which were listed , no toiletries replaced so had to ask for toilet paper and body wash - we stayed 7 days! No advice upon arriving on what our “complimentary” breakfast actually included so when it came to us leaving they tried charging us for breakfast that should have been free. Overpriced for what I consider equal to a hostel. And thanks for plonking a family right next door to us two nights before we left in a place which was practically empty so we could hear them cough, laugh and smoke dope on the balcony!! And the lack of blinds and barking dogs all night - arggh!!!!"

"Friendly and helpful staff. The furniture is old and needs to be updated. Hot water is unstable, it was often necessary to rinse with cold water. A broken clock hung on the wall, which was very annoying. At night, small lizards run along the walls inside the bedroom and the ceiling, which made sounds, which is also not pleasant to hear at night. The pillows are long and hard. Dirt accumulated in the washing machine in the tank, which did not wash, but, on the contrary, stained the washed clothes."

The owners, a husband and wife, were very welcoming and helped us arrange a driver to take us to the airport and introduced us to the snorkeling animals."

"Staff were lovely. The resort is run down and nothing like what was advertised. No TVs worked, no bathrobes, no beach, not sound proof, spa was unusable, toiletries, bottled water, tea and coffee was not restocked, bins not emptied, ant trails and cockroaches, loud music and yelling from across the lagoon, holes in walls with wires hanging out, broken or missing light bulbs and major plumbing problems. The toilet backed up through the shower drain, no maintenance man available. Two days later our villa was flooded with raw sewage. Belongings that were not soak in sewage smelt like sewage. Chinese man, Alex, was just going to mop the floors. We were eventually moved, twice, first villa had cockroaches in the fridge and same plumbing problems, second move was to a mould apartment with an unusable shower. We slept in the clothes we were wearing as our belongings were scattered between three villas and the resort laundry. Management, Annie, was unsympathetic and unhelpful and we were offered a free meal. Our belongings were washed and given a full refund after constant complaining. The swipe cards also opened other apartments. Four rooms was the most we seen occupied at any one time. Why can this resort advertise what they are not offering? Going through previous reviews it has been like this for quiet awhile. Shame on the booking agents."

"I can’t recommend this place highly enough! The owner and operators are absolutely wonderful, so very friendly and helpful. The owner employees locals from the village located behind the the resort, they are filled with happiness and huge hearts ♥️ If you enjoy unplugging from the fast paced crazy world we call daily life do yourself a favour and visit this beautiful resort!"
Trees and Fishes Private Retreat
"The hotel is about a 40-minute drive from the city center and is not very large. It has its own beach and small pier. Guests can use canoes and SUPs for free; masks need to be rented. It's recommended to rent a car. The hotel charges 7000 VAT for a one-way trip to the city center, and 30,000 VAT for a full day's use with a driver. They don't give room keys; they say it's only for staff and guests, so there's nothing to worry about. Even our room door was difficult to close properly, so we just left it open. The food at the hotel wasn't very good. Breakfast was okay, but the penne pasta we ordered for lunch was extremely salty, and the fish burger for dinner had a bread as hard as a baguette. The pizza was okay, and the fries were good. The scenery is beautiful. We stayed for four nights, but lunch and dinner were the most inconvenient."

"The location is amazing on the point in Havannah Harbour with stunning views to Moso island and Lelapa Island. From the the staff greeting us with a welcome song when we first arrived to the service at every meal the staff are amazing. So happy and friendly and willing to go out of their way to ensure we were looked after. Nothing seemed like a problem. The snorkelling of the resort is amazing just go at high tide when it’s not so dirty. Can’t exactly put into words how amazing our time was here."

"I travelled to Port Vila as part of a team of 4 volunteers - we all volunteer for Taskforce Kiwi and were travelling on to Ambrym Island to carry our damage assessments after Cyclone Lola. We stayed twice at Kaiviti Motel - and the owners and staff were wonderful - very accommodating and friendly. We didn't have a car but everything is in walking distance - the location is perfect. We had a 2 bedroom apartment with kitchen, and found it to be very clean and suited us well. We were either working or in the pool."

"The little nest egg that co-owner David and his team have at M Resort is clearly a diamond in the boutique accommodation options throughout Vanuatu. We stayed here for 4 nights, and when David, the live-action compendium, greeted us with a fresh cool towel and chilled coconut, his passion and enthusiasm for what he had created were evident. He explained his resort, ("his" as a third co-creator and builder), the unique nature of where it is situated, on a protected reef, and what options were available to us as a family of four. Nothing was pushed onto us, nothing was a sales pitch; it was just an education of what was there. We stayed in one of the three currently available villas, mere feet from the sand. A picturesque view of Lelepa island and the crystal clear water between. The island is also a day trip that is a must, seamlessly organised through David with one of the Lelepa village locals. The villa's main room has ample space to store your belongings, an ensuite and a built-in robe. The only drawback at the time was the lack of blackout curtains because getting changed in pitch-black darkness left it to anyone to guess if your pants were on the right way. It also means that when the sun is up, you're up. The second bedroom is also well sized, with plenty of space and a large bed, same again with the third bedroom, with two singles. Overall an abundance of space. Large main bathroom, for all your bathroom needs. There were a few differences between villas, as some had blinds, some didn't, some had appliances like ovens, and some didn't. These details are purely for context and in no way diminish the hard work David is evident putting in every day. The restaurant is open and available from 0730 through to 2100, and the staff are simply amazing. It is quite obvious that some are new to hospitality/waiting, but their politeness, courtesy and consideration are the best we have experienced on our so far 8 days in Vanuatu. Even with the few extra things we asked of the staff, such as grinding up a coconut for sunburn and cutting up some market-bought pineapples, they did so without hesitation and with a smile. Food is of great quality and optimal freshness. Sourced from the local village. A few items were forgotten from dishes occasionally, but it didn't take away from the freshness and flavour. The grounds are maintained daily, and while some of it is missed, there is at least an effort. A tidy-up of the rubbish, specifically under the villas, will make a world of difference. Shutting up the beautiful glass sliding doors at night is a must to slow the amount of moisture and residue and furnishings found in the morning. I hope for the sake of sustainability these guys can work out a way to maintain the longevity of the property. Considering its current new life, there are already signs of wear and tear by means of surface rust on finishes, and warping of wooden surfaces. Some of the soft furnishings have a damp feel to th"
