Canyon Country Lodge ★★
Entrada Escalante Lodge ★★
Prospector Inn
"We have come to Escalate every year for 20 years and always stay at Prospector Inn. This family owned motel is always clean, staff are always friendly and helpful and its location is the best for exploring the Escalante Staircase. This year we were here over Thanksgiving. Jackie , our front desk hostess, cooked a full blown Thanksgiving dinner for her staff and invited any guests as they came in. What a treat and boy what a great cook!!! This made for a most memorable Thanksgiving!!"
Ponderosa Inn ★★
The Inn of Escalante ★★★
"Stayed 2 nights in their King suite which had a Very Comfortable king bed with attached outdoor porch. This place is clean and quiet and right in the middle of this small town. Great A/C. Large room with 2-person dining table as well."
Red Rock Ranch Log Cabin: Large, Fully Furnished, 5 Bdr, sleeps 12, 3 levels ★★★
Cowboy Country Inn ★★
Escalante Grand Resort ★★
"We arrived shortly after the office closed at 5pm. A note with our name on it was taped to the door along with notes for 3 or 4 other late arriving guests. We were unable to enter our cabin with the only provided code, which was for the community showers. My wife and I both called and texted every number we could find to try and find out how to get into our cabin as we had no where else to stay and had already paid for the cabin. We were unable to reach or get a response from anyone. I walked to the closed office hoping to find someone. I saw a young lady in an adjoining building but she kept motioning for me to go to the (closed) office. I finally got her to open her door and explained my dilemma. She (Emma) explained that she was off work but was very nice and walked with me to our cabin to show me how to use the (incorrect) code. She checked our paperwork and agreed that they had not given us a code for the cabin, but only the code for the showers. She then told me the correct code and opened our door for us. Other than that frustrating incident, our stay there was unremarkable. For reference, our cabin interior was smaller than most chain hotel rooms with a small bathroom and shower. The sink in the bathroom was extremely small, with the bowl about the width of my open hand from finger tips to wrist and perhaps about 12” long. It was mounted tight to the wall. It was impossible for me to shave or wash my face in the sink without getting water all over myself and the floor. To clean her face, apply makeup, etc. my wife used the small sink in the corner of the bedroom next to the tiny microwave as there was no place in the bathroom to put any of her items. Unfortunately, the lighting wasn’t good in that corner. Emma and a guy came around one evening handing out alcoholic drinks to everyone from the back of the pickup truck. It was a nice gesture but ignored that some guests and children cannot or do not drink alcohol. We weren’t disappointed in the cabin itself as we expected it to be somewhat rustic. It’s a cute, simple log cabin. We were VERY disappointed that we NEVER received a single callback or text response to our attempts to contact someone about our check-in dilemma nor did anyone from management ever apologize or check on us. Their customer service needs a LOT of improvement."
