The Hotel Route-Inn Shinano Omachi Ekimae is an ideal spot for travelers wanting to discover the city. The Hotel Route-Inn Shinano Omachi Ekimae is an ideal choice for travelers who want to take in the sights and sounds of Omachi. Boasting a convenient location, the hotel is just 100m from Shinano-Ōmachi Station and 46km from Shinshu-Matsumoto Airport. Guests will find Ichinoya, Steam Locomotive C56-94 and Nishi Park just a short distance from the hotel. After a long day of sightseeing, guests can retire to the comfort of the hotel. This Omachi hotel features parking on site. According to our guests, this hotel provides a very high level of service. This hotel is a popular accommodation for guests traveling with families.

"We booked two rooms for a 7-night stay, and the experience was great. We primarily came for skiing, and staying in a hotel with kids always feels more convenient than a guesthouse. Plus, guesthouses near the ski resort definitely aren't as clean or well-equipped as hotels, and they aren't necessarily cheaper either. We rented a car, so staying at this hotel made it super easy to get to the surrounding ski resorts. The hotel was very clean and offered breakfast. While the breakfast wasn't particularly lavish and didn't quite suit Chinese tastes, it generally met our needs. The hotel restaurant also offered à la carte dinner options that were reasonably priced and delicious. We'd wake up early, have breakfast, go skiing, then return to the hotel for dinner and a dip in the hot spring. This made traveling with kids much more relaxed. After a full day of skiing, being able to enjoy a good hot spring bath and a restful sleep without rushing was truly the most pleasant part of our trip. If we come back for skiing, we'd definitely want to stay at this hotel again."

"Buffet breakfast was great, children eats free. We have a car so is accessible. Ski field a short 8 mins away. Onsen was nice, unfortunately not all guests followed the rules. Would be perfect if they provided Japanese toiletries in the hotel room (Dove brand provided). Room with balcony was beautiful. Overall we really enjoyed our stay, the facilities, hospitality. Highly recommended."

"It was raining on the day we arrived, but it wasn't cold and we were able to sleep peacefully in our private room. It would be nice if the shower had a little more hot water, but it was okay. I think it's a good place to stay before climbing a mountain. The staff were kind and explained things to us carefully, which made me feel at ease. Shinano Omachi was a town I had been following on Instagram and wanted to visit."

The Kurobe Sunvalley Hotel was recently renovated in 2023, making it a fantastic choice for those staying in Omachi. Traveling to the hotel is easy with Shinano-Kizaki Station located approximately 5km away and Shinshu-Matsumoto Airport roughly 51km away. The nearby area boasts an abundance of attractions including Omachi Golf Center, わっぱらんど and Shotatsuyama Izumitake Temple. In their spare time, guests can explore the hotel's surroundings. For those driving themselves, parking is provided on site.

"If you're coming for skiing, and prioritize value for money and comfort, this hotel is truly worth recommending. The staff are generally very warm and attentive, and they're very knowledgeable about ski-related details: helping with sending and receiving ski equipment and luggage. The entire check-in process was very reassuring and saved a lot of energy and time. Regarding meals: Breakfast is Japanese style, relatively simple but sufficient. However, dinner truly exceeded expectations: the dishes were varied and tasted excellent. If you stay for multiple days, there will be some repetition in the menu, but the overall quality is very high. For those who don't mind repetition, it's perfectly fine. For this price point, the value for money is really outstanding. Skiing convenience: The ski resort bus stop is right across the road from the hotel's back exit, very close. Even with a lot of ski gear, it's not tiring. After skiing, you can return to the hotel and immediately enjoy the hot springs, which is very comfortable. This significantly enhances the experience for those who ski consecutively. The hotel has hot springs, which are very refreshing after skiing. The rooms vary in age: Japanese-style rooms are relatively older, though some have been renovated. The rooms are very warm, making for a comfortable stay in winter. If you're coming to Hakuba/surrounding areas for skiing and want good value, delicious food, and hot springs, without prioritizing nightlife but focusing more on practicality and comfort, I highly recommend choosing this place."

"The hotel doesn't have any restaurants; if you want to eat, it's about a 5-minute drive or a 10-minute walk. The rooms are spacious, but there's no table, which is a bit inconvenient. The hotel has a hot spring, and the environment is very nice and comfortable; it's worth staying at."

"Everything was ok, quite standard. It was clean and really, no problems. I only have a slight issue with the toilet: The shared toilet is shockingly small, and for the female one, it says that 2 can fit in there. Thankfully I was alone for my showers if not it would be really awkward. I also found it weird how if the main toilet door opens, the person changing can be seen by anyone outside. :( Otherwise, it was a pleasant stay and a good rest point for those going on the kurobe alpine route trail."

"It was a very big hotel with nice onsen (although it smells a little of chlorine) the place was swarmed with tour groups so buffet quality was not great but edible with quite a lot of variety. Parking was spacious. I gave 3 stars for service because we encountered a rude souvenir shop staff who yelled at us in Chinese and continued doing so even after we told her that we are not Chinese!"

"This is the first time I stayed at a Hoshino resort. Perhaps my expectations were too high.  Food quality was the best reason to stay here. The restaurant offers an elaborate menu. The onsen is the next big feature of the hotel. It was not as big as seen in the advertisement. Perhaps wide angle was used. Location was not great. Not much to do nearby. The free transfers to Omachi helped to kill time if you have no plan to ski at Hakuba.  Service was patchy. Below are two examples: 1) Asked reception about train tickets conditions in general but the response was we are not train company. We know that but would appreciate help in calling into the train company or checking their website in Japanese. 2) Over a supposedly fancy dinner, the server was rushing us to finish by asking us to move unfinished food items from one plate or another by ourselves to make space for the next dish. I would have expected the server to wait for us. On another occasion, the server left the next dish on the table, with lid closed, without explaining what it is. We were not sure if we should start eating or wait. The server came back in a few minutes realizing that she had not explained to us yet and apologized.  With better service and things to do nearby, the hotel will see happier customers."

I went to Hakuba to ski for half a month and wanted to stay in a hotel with a kitchen, so I chose this place. It’s not far to drive to Hakuba Ski Resort every day, but the car cannot be parked in front of the house. It has to be parked in the free parking lot outside, but it’s a bit difficult to drag the luggage back to the room in the snow! There is no big problem with the room. There is enough hot water. The room has an air conditioner and a heater, so it doesn't feel cold. But for some reason the bedroom has no door. Maybe there is only one air conditioner in the whole house, installed between the living room and the bedroom? It's a bit administratively confusing, the details are as follows: I booked Base 2, but when I checked in, the staff gave me Base 1. I asked again if it was Base 1? The staff answered yes. I thought it was a deliberate arrangement by the hotel and did not investigate further. However, when I came back from skiing the next day, I found a notice posted on the gate. It said that the staff had given me the wrong room by mistake and asked me to go to the front desk, but they did not explain the solution. After arriving at the front desk, I could not communicate with the staff, and he did not say whether he wanted me to change rooms or pay more or anything. He just apologized for giving me the wrong room. I took the initiative to ask him if there would be other guests checking in. Otherwise, can I not move? Because I had already unloaded all the items in my four large luggages, it would take a lot of time to pack them up. Plus, I was exhausted after skiing all day and hadn’t eaten dinner yet. The staff was also hesitant and kept pressing his phone, but he didn’t use his phone to translate for me, so I was speechless… After at least twenty minutes of arguing, I took the initiative to suggest that I move back to Base 2, but he just kept saying OK OK. When I asked him to get the key to Base 2, he was stunned and asked me why? How can I move in if you don’t give me the key? There was no cleaning or housekeeping during the stay, even the garbage from several days was not cleared, which was really unhygienic; towels and other supplies were not replenished either.

The hotel's four-person room is larger than expected! The hotel's interior environment is better than expected, and there is also an open-air hot spring. The receptionist at the front desk is an old man, his English is not very good, his attitude is average, and the service experience is not very good. But based on the cost-effectiveness, it is still recommended!

The main purpose is to take the bus to Ogizawa from Shinano Omachi Station for 540 yen. It is just opposite the bus stop. The next morning, take the bus to Ogizawa, which is about 25 minutes and a little closer. The courtyard environment is nice, the interior furnishings are also very Japanese and pay attention to details. The dinner and breakfast are quite rich. The guest's luggage was delivered, and the staff wiped the wheels very carefully. The service is good.

We love the location because it's not far from Hakuba where we go skiing. The facilities at the hotel are great; bath, gift shop, vending machine. However, they don't have a laundry machine which is not convenience for people who come for skiing. Breakfast and dinner are super delicious. The room is spacious, we booked the Japanese style with futons. However, we wish they come and fold the futons while we were out. Other than that, it's very nice hotel.

I’ve stayed at many ryokans throughout my travels—often making up half of each trip—but this one felt a bit different. It seemed to be run by just one person, who I assume is the owner. Everything was self-service, which might be understandable considering it was the most affordable option among the ryokans in the area. Most amenities required an extra fee, such as towels. Payment was made by dropping coins into a basket and making your own change, which wasn’t very convenient—especially since I didn’t carry much cash. One thing I appreciated was the luggage delivery service. I was able to leave my bag at the lobby before check-out and have it sent to Toyama Station (for about 4,000 JPY, cash only). What stood out was the creativity in the shared spaces. There were several common rooms designed for relaxing and spending time—perfect if you’re traveling with friends. You could play ping pong, read books, watch TV, or use the canteen, which had a microwave and dishes available. They even had coin-operated massage chairs and a small fitness room. However, I must mention two important downsides: 1. Limited nearby dining options – Many restaurants shown as open on Google Maps were actually closed. The only one that was open had extremely slow service—I waited nearly an hour for dinner. 2. Insects—large ones – Unfortunately, I encountered big insects in my room, which made it hard to sleep. (He even provided insect-catch tape for me while introduce the room) I stayed awake most of the night, worrying it might come back—especially stressful since I had to get up early the next morning to catch a bus to Ogizawa. Minds you, stairs only, need to carry your luggage down by yourself. Overall, while it offers good value for the area and has unique communal features, this ryokan may not suit travelers who prefer full service, cashless payment, or guaranteed comfort.
