"This hotel is about 1.5 km from Tsuruoka JR Station. The nearest bus stop is 'Science Park.' The hotel itself is newly renovated, surrounded by rice paddies, offering a beautiful and clean environment. Breakfast is a Japanese-style buffet featuring locally sourced ingredients. Dinner requires a reservation, as dining options nearby are limited to a convenience store. There are three dinner set menus, which I found a bit pricey, but the food was delicious, especially the bread and desserts. Service was, as always, attentive, and the hot spring facilities were excellent. "The hotel front desk service was very professional. The parking attendant even asked my name first and then led me to the front desk to check in. The room has a large window with a view of the Sea of Japan. The wind was strong at the seaside that day, but the room was not disturbed by the whistling sound all the time. The women's hot spring has two areas, one is made of stone and the other is made of wood. There is also an outdoor area. Because I have tattoos, I avoid the crowds when taking a bath. The space feels very comfortable. The breakfast the next day was pretty standard, the usual traditional Japanese breakfast, but there was also coffee to drink. A very satisfying experience, hope to visit again."

"The inn was nice and the open-air bath was wonderful. However, the site guide said that breakfast was buffet style and I made a reservation, but when I checked with the front desk, it was explained that the buffet style was abolished after Corona. Thanks to that, my 10-year-old daughter couldn't take what she liked and eat it, and for breakfast I only ate clam miso soup and salad with ham. Very disappointing. The guest room is also described as a guest room with a river view bath, and the photo of the guest room bath was nice, so I made a reservation, but it was very disappointing because it was a completely different bath. Ordinary narrow cypress covered with walls rather than view? Of course, I didn't use it just because it had a bath, and I enjoyed only the hot springs. It's a really wonderful inn, so I would like the publication side to guide you to the facility."

Loved this place!! The host was so lovely and held conversation with us even with our broken Japanese haha, gave us maps / guides for the Dewa Sanzan and even asked us about our itinerary for the next day (as we were going to climb the other 2 mountains, he made sure we knew the bus timings). It was such a nice traditional ryokan, with comfy tatami, public ofuro (hot steaming bath that felt great after climbing Hagurosan), yukata, and even tea powder and biscuits set out in the room :”) Our room had a wash basin and sofa chairs as well, but not sure if that's for all rooms. We paid 660yen each for breakfast taken away (2 big onigiri balls!) but couldn't have dinner added on (so make sure you check beforehand, because most places in the town close by 5pm). Overall 100% recommend staying here! Loved our stay, thank you :)

Sleep in this place is a unique and incredible experience: the rooms and equipment are very comfortable, the very welcome atmosphere and the experience, both spiritual and culinary, incredible! In the first place, you can find the surroundings when the night falls and the Haguro mountain is very calming in the morning! In conclusion, one night at Daishinbo, it is not just sleep in a temple, it is living a separate experience Thank you very much !

I spent two nights in Tokyo Daiichi Hotel Tsuruoka and I would stay there again. The location is very good - ten minutes easy walk from Tsuruoka JR train station and it's directly connected to S-Mall, so you don't even have to go outside to access the shops and restaurants in the mall. There is also a bus terminal at the mall for local buses - I caught a bus from there to Mount Haguro. The bedroom was a good size for a Japanese business hotel with a good size desk and chair. However, I could only find one power socket! It's good that I brought a power strip! Typical of Japanese hotels with Onsen / Sentō the bathroom is small - most people would use the public bath facilities to shower. The hotel has a Japanese style bath, however it was in the annexe, so it was rather confusing the first time I tried to find it. Two of the baths were inaccessible - the door was locked. The main bath was okay, there is a sauna and cold plunge pool. The front desk were very polite, efficient and could speak basic English.

Linhai Japanese-style hot spring hotel, the beautiful proprietress will come to say hello in the morning and evening. The Bohai Sea outside the window has a beautiful view. The interior is decorated with replicas of the Terracotta Warriors and Horses shipped from Xi'an, China. The hotel has 58 rooms. It is said that most of the guests in Taiwan and South Korea. After the epidemic, there were fewer mainland guests and did not recover. The room is with Western style, tatami hall, Western style twin bed.

I cannot attest too much overall to the quality of this hotel, as mine was a fleeing evening visit followed by an early morning departure but I will describe as best I can. It is a fair way away from the station, about fifteen minutes walk, neither hilly nor strenuous, but quite close to several local bus routes including one terminating at Dewa Sanzen. There’s a small cinema a short walk away, though no immediate convenience shops-there are, however, as in most hotels, drink and food vending machines available in the lobby. A free breakfast is served from 7:00 and looked delicious, though I did not get to partake as I had an early business appointment. For those travelling lightly, there are coin operated washing and drying machine facilities. The nearby park in the spring is redolent with the aroma of flowers and the area is known for its European style buildings with the museum being particularly worth visiting. The staff were attentive and very accommodating, and while the building itself is older it is maintained well and clean. For older travellers, do be mindful that the entrance doors are non-automated and may prove a little heavy so request help if need be.
