"A very nice little hotel or inn, located in the heart of Carmel, within walking distance of the town and the beach. The hotel facilities are relatively old, especially the restrooms, but it does not affect your holiday experience. There are parking spaces in the courtyard, and the front desk will issue you a parking permit for each room, but there is no guarantee that there will be a parking space, and you should be able to park on the street. There are many restaurants nearby, and one of them is a great breakfast restaurant with a comfortable taste and atmosphere. An American breakfast and a cup of coffee are second to none."

"The room facilities can meet basic needs, but they are simple and the hygiene is only acceptable. There is no breakfast. The transportation is convenient and it is okay for a one-night stay during travel. There are many hotel options in Monterey and the price-performance ratio is good."

"Carmel is a beautiful town and the hotel is in the town centre, so the location is perfect. Room was a little dated, but reasonably clean. On the night we arrived to check in, staff was super friendly and helpful. He gave us detailed instructions regarding our room and parking, also local restaurants recommendations. His service was a 5 star! On the morning of departure, we vacated the room and checked out at 9am. We went for a stroll in the town, and returned after an hour. When we returned at 10am I asked the staff (not the friendly staff helped us check in) if I can use a restroom. Knowing we just checked out, the staff bluntly replied there isn’t public toilet in the hotel, so we’d better use the one in the local park. When we asked if we could go back to our room to use the toilet as it’s still early. His said the cleaners were already in. We then walked to our car which was next to our room, only to find the cleaners hadn’t been at all. Zero hospitality, disappointed."

"This is my third stay at this hotel. Before the pandemic, the hotel was very clean and the breakfast was great. Now it feels much worse. The sheets weren't changed and there was hair in them, so I had to use my own sheets and duvet cover. Because it was the weekend, the price was double the weekday price, and there was no breakfast. It wasn't good value for money, which was a bit disappointing. The room is large enough to open 2-3 suitcases at the same time. Free parking is a plus."

"Very exquisite, clean and quiet hotel with a good environment. Maybe it's not the weekend, so there are few people. The room is big, but the air conditioner is noisy. It is far from the town of Carmel and there is no car nearby. The shops opposite the hotel closed before 8 o'clock, and the supermarket was open until 10 o'clock. I finally found a barbecue restaurant that was open until 9 o'clock and had dinner there."

"There were some changes since the last time we stay here in 2023. The breakfast does not have any eggs, yogurt, or fruits anymore. They put in a coffee/mocha/latte machine. The heater/fan makes noises so we had to turn it off even though it was colder than we like in the room. Then it was kind of stuffy in the room without airflow. We opened the window for awhile, which helped. The tap water has bleach smell. The staff is accommodating."

"Very tasteful hotel, 200 years old, very old, interior decoration is high-end and comfortable. It is this type of room facing the street and a bit noisy at night. The shower room is very large and the water is very flush. The sink bathtub is large and tasteful. Five-star hotel level."

"The overall price/performance ratio is relatively low, the rooms are relatively old, and the scenery is really not good in the United States. The wind blowing in from the balcony is also a bit unpleasant, and you need to charge dozens of knives to the hotel, including taxes, parking fees, etc."

"Location on foot to Morro Rock. Booked room on the 3rd floor was very clean and tastefully furnished. Breakfast was sufficient and was prepared and taken care of a very friendly and charming staffer (Shelbi). The hotel is a perfect recommendation for this hotel. We will stay here anytime."

"This is not bad in all aspects in the motel. The bathroom is huge. The necessary equipment in the room is available, there is a coffee machine and coffee capsule, there is a microwave, but bottled water is not provided. The sanitary condition is OK, but the room has a heavy feeling of disinfectant water. The front desk is very nice. There is 7-11 across the street, and there are many restaurants next to it."
