The staff are so welcoming and I was so lucky to stay in this slice of paradise. "Such a fun little island and a great resort to stay at. We planned a day here after spending the night here after gorilla trekking, to do nothing. Just walk around the tiny island and look for the waterbuck, zebras, and donkey. We found all of those with in a 20 minute walk into the jungle portion on a nice little trail. Staff was vey nice."

"This hotel is a solid budget option, close to town, a bit dusty, but fair value for money. My real concern is staffing. One employee, Joab, was handling reception, laundry, housekeeping, and kitchen duties(chef) almost single-handedly, with little rest (guys the guy barely rests!). He was so hardworking and courteous throughout, thank you, Joab. But no one should be stretched this thin. I urge management to review staffing levels (we are all human). It’s not sustainable, and the team deserves better support."

"A group arrived mid afternoon and immediately started playing very loud music. The management of the resort made no attempt to ask them to turn it down, much to the annoyance of the other guests The atmosphere was terrible . They continued to party with the loud music until midnight. I was woken after 1 am by very loud talking . What should have been a great experience was spoiled by the managements inaction."

"Lake Bunyonyi Eco Resort offers a serene escape with breathtaking views. The journey to the island by boat was a highlight, allowing us to appreciate the lake's beauty. Upon arrival, a tuk-tuk took us up the hill to the comfortable resort. Our room was spacious and well-appointed. We stayed for two nights to fully enjoy the tranquil atmosphere and explore the area. We took a delightful canoe ride around the island at sunset and arranged a boat tour with a local guide the following day. While the food was decent, the buffet-style evening meals offered a good variety. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the Wi-Fi worked well in the common areas. It's important to remember that things may not always work at the same pace as in the Western world. The hot water took a bit of time to heat up, but we were warned about that in advance. The overall setting of the island was fantastic, with plenty of birds and wildlife, making it the perfect place to unwind."

Right in the heart of Kabale Town, one would imagine a noisy environment but what we experienced was complete and uttermost serenity. The beautiful place became home for us the staff were very professional, yet very hospitable. The rooms are spotlessly clean and immaculate. The breakfasts are as tasty as they appear on the photos, plus I could access my beloved Netflix I could go on and on and on... If you are looking for tranquil away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, Hakyiri is the place to be. I could recommend it again and again and again."
