Hampton Inn & Suites Madera ★★
"Good location and comfort. Breakfast can be improved with more vegetarian options."
Yosemite Southgate Hotel & Suites ★★★
"All great and very friendly staff. Only major downside is noise. People walking on floors above and in the hallway are very audible. The fridge is also in the same space as the bed and when it goes into cooling cycles it's extremely loud in the middle of the night."
Knights Inn Madera ★★
"quiet"
The Pines Resort ★★★
"Just in time for the heavy snow, it was beautiful."
Holiday Inn Express & Suites CHOWCHILLA - YOSEMITE PK AREA by IHG ★★★★
"Amazing stay"
Holiday Inn Express MADERA-YOSEMITE PK AREA by IHG ★★★
"Clean and spacious. Free Continental breakfast buffet included for up to 4 ppl in a double queen room. Breakfast included: - cereal - oatmeal - scramble eggs - biscuits and gravy - turkey patties and pork sausage - assorted breads, packaged muffins and cinnamon rolls - juice fountain, milk in the refrigerator, and yogurt There was also a simple fitness center (has a water dispenser inside, cold and room temperature water) and a pool onsite with a hot tub. At night the staff got very busy cuz it seemed like only one person was covering everything. But they are friendly and helpful. Can ask the front desk for free toothpaste and toothbrush. One notable con is that there were no hot water kettles nor a hot water dispenser in the lobby. (How do u drink the teas?) Hot coffee was available in the lobby and in the room using a Keurig machine. Ended up using the microwave to heat up water."
SureStay Hotel by Best Western Chowchilla Yosemite ★★
"Good hotel for short stays, but... 1. There are insects in the room. Not bed bugs or cockroaches, just insects from outsides but still. 2. Strong smell of "farm land". Not in rooms, only outside. I am ok with it, but somebody can disgust it. 3. Breakfast is poor. No protein - eggs or meat. Only waffles (hot), regular yogurt and cereal. No laundry (which is expected). 4. Noice from trucks entering highway nearby. Nevertheless, the room was clean (excluding insects mentioned above). Quite convenient location - grocery and few restaurants are very close."
Best Western Plus Yosemite Gateway Inn ★★★
"We had a nice time and the place is beautiful!"
La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Madera ★★
"Pro: Good location and comfortable beds. Not a lot of people in the hotel. Improvements: Found some hairs of previous guests in the bed. And there was no possibility for one hour later check out."

Studio 6 Suites Madera, CA - Yosemite
"I walked into the room and it smelled horrible. there was no table and no chairs. Their ice machine does not work but I did find 2 half empty ice trays from Dollar Tree in the freezer. the TV was hanging crooked. the pillows on the bed if put together would have a small 1. the sheets and mattress covers were stained and little black bugs were found on each layer of bedding. they weren't bed bugs but still, who would want to sleep with any bug. the bath tub was filthy and the shower head has brownish stuff on it. I booked another motel. The manager never contacted me nor did I get any money back. so if you want a smelly, dirty room Studio 6 is the place to go. The pictures they show on the site are far from the ones I've included."
Fairfield Inn & Suites Oakhurst Yosemite
"Reasonably priced, clean and tidy, with a great breakfast and convenient parking. Highly recommended!"
Sierra Meadows
"We came out of Yosemite Valley and planned to go to the giant sequoia forest here the next day. The cabin was very nice and clean. It had a refrigerator and a microwave. We heated up the pizza ourselves. The surroundings are very quiet. You can see the Milky Way and many stars at night. When you get up in the morning, you hike around for a while. The atmosphere in the fields is very strong. On the way to check in, I took a sidetrack at night and went back to find the place. However, it was very convenient to check in and check out."
Hampton Inn Oakhurst-Yosemite
"The hotel is located near Yosemite, in a small village, with hotels on both sides. When checking in at Hampton, I was told that the kind bed room I booked was sold out, and there was only a queen bed. I thought it was too late, so I stayed there. Later, they said the curtains were broken, so they used bed sheets to hang. This was unacceptable. The Fairfield next to the hotel is a sister hotel, and they passed me there. When I checked in at that hotel, they charged me again. I had to negotiate with Ctrip and the hotel, and they refunded me after about a week. Because we arrived late, most restaurants were closed, and the only Denny’s was open until 10 o’clock, so I went there to fill my stomach."
Yosemite Sierra Inn
"Good room location, friendly front desk service"
Château du Sureau
"This gem is located just over 90 minutes from the central Yosemite Valley. It provides all the comforts of the best B&Bs, like in room welcome wine & treats, comfortable beds, great dining, and exceptional service. We enjoyed a delicious dinner and great service at the intimate Cellar restaurant."
Days Inn by Wyndham Chowchilla Gateway to Yosemite
WorldMark Bass Lake
"The property was excellent with well equipped and maintained rooms. Rooms were decent sized for two families to be easily accommodated. Service from front desk to housekeeping to maintenance team was top notch and deserves a five star rating,"
Queen's Inn by the River
"Clean and bright, with comfortable chairs and tables at the back, it's an unforgettable place to sit in the evening and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the woods and the afterglow of the sunset."
Narrow Gauge Inn
"The on-site restaurant was closed do to unforeseen circumstances, I get it but you could have answered the phone when I called 2 times on check in day or returned my calls that I made to let you know we’d be arriving at 8:30 pm which was a little later than planned. The whole reason I booked this hotel stay with you was because you had a charming restaurant. You’re kind of out in the woods which is awesome however it means your the only game in town when it comes to late dinner. We tried to plan accordingly however your lack of communication prohibited us from eating that night"
Mountain Trail Lodge and Vacation Rentals
"The bathroom is too small and the towels have a little strange smell. The heating is sufficient but a little loud. The only drawback is that the bathroom is too small for bathing. The house is a little old and the TV is also old, but it is worth the price."
Inn the Woods Suites
Outdoorsy Yosemite
"We stayed here for two nights in a 24ft RV. There were just two of us, from Europe on an RV tour. The campsite was very quiet and relaxed. The facilities were clean - the pool wa snice and the staff very friendly. Was surprised it was not very busy - but I think the high cost might put people off. ($77 USD per night). It was the highest of our whole trip. The site was not level - and walking around the campsite, it seems many are not level (apart from the member-only sites).... however, we asked for some wood to level our RV and they were only too happy to oblige. The cafe was closed and there didn't seem to be a groceries shop or anything. However - that's because just a 5 min walk from the campsite is a large resort for Bass Lake which has everything. They also offer a 209% discount on rental of boats etc.... Would recommend this - higher cost, but lovely location. Checkin was quick, friendly and easy. Wifi was good - we were on site 152 near the main office."
