Book Tea Bed Izuoshima - Hostel ★
"Extremely convenient location near the station, and above all, very clean. The morning meal starts at 8 AM, so even if you arrive on the island early in the morning by an overnight ferry the day before, you can still have breakfast relatively early. I stayed in a dormitory, and the mattress was so incredibly plush that I slept unbelievably well. Highly recommended!"
Hotel Shiraiwa ★★★
"Hotel? Or at best, a ryokan? My personal impression is that they took my luggage before I checked in, but I can understand putting a suitcase directly on the floor, but I've never put a shoulder bag on the floor outside. The lobby was also open, and the old man at the front desk was very surprised that the room was left directly on the floor even though shoes were worn, and the room was left directly on the floor until I checked in... And the lobby was air-conditioned, but the hallway on the guest floor was not. The room had a new air conditioner, but I didn't use the bath in the room because I was going to take a bath in the hot spring once, but the toilet and bathroom were together, but the toilet was not cleaned well, and it smelled of urine from the time I checked in, and since it was a unit bath that could be flushed, I wish they would clean it properly because it was so smelly that I had to hold my nose when I went to the toilet. The place was old and there was mold here and there, and it seemed like they were just barely open for business with some maintenance. The location was pretty convenient, so that was a good thing."

"Very clean"
Mashio Hotel & Resort ★★★
"It was awesome! It was the best place to stay in my history. The birdsong, the animals' cry, the morning is over. Breakfast is very polite in respect and arrangement for life, ingredients, dishes, etc. I've been quiet and solemn. It was a breakfast with a spine. It was very delicious. thank you for your meal. I'm sorry to disturb you in a method type room. 2 floor Japanese room 1 floor bedroom living room veranda was very comfortable everywhere I want to stay again as a reward for myself. I'd like to have dinner this time."
Tsubaki ★★★
"The sea was close and the atmosphere was nice."
Hotel Akamon ★★
"Firstly, Izu Oshima doesn't have many tourist attractions overall. Most of the people I saw were middle-aged and elderly people hiking. Even on weekdays during the Camellia Festival, there weren't many tourists. I personally think the high cost of the steamboat ticket (9200 yen one way) is one reason. Secondly, the hotel is located in Motomachi Port, which recently stops at Okada Port. It takes another half hour by bus to get there. The hotel is quite old. The receptionist was an elderly gentleman, probably almost 90, but he was clear-headed and spoke basic English without any problems. The hot spring bath was rather small, and the breakfast was traditional Japanese. I probably won't go back to this destination again. Public transportation on the island is also quite expensive; a one-way trip to the volcano costs over 1000 yen, and a one-day pass seems to be 2050 yen. I went to Oshima Park, which is free, which is a good thing. It includes the Camellia Garden and the zoo, but the camellias weren't as abundant as I expected; the ones in the greenhouse were better."
Guesthouse Funayoshi ★★
"It was very helpful that the owner of the inn picked me up at the airport. The exterior of the inn is yellow, so even if you get lost while walking around Okada Port, just head for the yellow building and you'll be able to find your way back. It's conveniently located just a one-minute walk from Hinode Beach. The building itself is old, but it's been renovated and is well-maintained and clean. My only complaints about the room were that the futon was small and the pillows were hard. The air freshener smell was also strong. In terms of amenities, an electric kettle in the room would have been great, but since it's a guesthouse, you can't ask for too much. The food was Japanese, mainly seafood, and was delicious both morning and night. The bathroom was like a large household bathtub, and there were two washing machines outside and one dryer. The owner was very knowledgeable and would answer any questions I had about the island. If you asked me if I'd stay again, the answer would be YES!"
Hotel Kailani ★★★
"The boss is very enthusiastic"
Hotel Moana Spectacular Ocean View Cafe Lounge BRE ★★★
"We had a fantastic stay at Moana Hotel. The location is perfect—just a few steps from the harbor, making it very convenient while still feeling peaceful and authentic. Our room was spacious, clean, and very well equipped. The beds deserve special mention—the mattresses were excellent and made for a very comfortable night’s sleep. What truly makes this place special, however, is the host. Suhuku turns a simple stay into a real experience. From the warm and refreshing welcome drink to her thoughtful advice on planning our volcano hikes, she made us feel immediately at home. The real highlight was Suhuku’s taxi service. She not only drives you, she creates an experience: taking us to the trailhead for our hike, picking us up at the onsen afterward, bringing us to a neighboring village for dinner, and even collecting us after the restaurant—all along beautiful panoramic routes. There is no rushing—she clearly takes pride in showing the beauty of the island. Another unforgettable moment was breakfast, where we enjoyed a spectacular view of Mount Fuji—simply breathtaking and the perfect way to start the day. This level of care and individuality made us feel like VIP guests throughout our stay. Suhuku’s Moana Hotel is an absolute insider tip—we would highly recommend it and would definitely come back."

Mihamakan Izu Oshima
"Apparently the owner had recently changed, and there was a notice posted advertising recruitment. It has the old atmosphere of an island inn. There is a shoe rack when you open the front door, but only sneakers can be placed there. If you have expensive shoes, you might hesitate to leave them there. There is instant coffee in the conversation space in front of the front desk. You have to make your own bed in the room. There is no refrigerator, safe, tea or amenities in the room. The bath requires a reservation in 30-minute increments. If it was anywhere other than Oshima, I would be angry and would not stay there."
Oshima Hot Spa Hotel
"I often travel to the Izu Seven Islands on business trips, and while many of the hot springs on the islands have sodium chloride springs, I like this one because the springs are simple and don't leave a sticky feeling on the body. The view is amazing and the food is delicious, so I'd definitely like to come back when I'm on business trips to Oshima."
