Grids Premium Hotel Otaru ★★★★
"Wonderful views with kindly services"
Otaru Kourakuen ★★★★
"The entire stay was a dream. I can only recommend going here. It was very pricey for us but well worth it. The staff is exceptional, the facility beautiful, the food fresh and local and the atmosphere pure relaxation. If I had to pick something that could be improved, it's that the bonfire could run a little longer in the summer to enjoy it after dark."
Hotel Torifito Otaru Canal ★★★★
"Not too far from Otaru Station. Staff was helpful and friendly. I like it!"
Hotel Nord Otaru ★★★★
"The hotel is located at the tourist spot, easy to find and walk around. The hotel provides parking lot with fee."
Unwind Hotel & Bar Otaru ★★★★
"Classy hotel with free wine for hotel guests and if you want some classy cocktails or good selections of whiskies, it’s just by the entrance. The breakfast is fantastic too. Lots of homemade goodness and delicious scones too."
Otaru Furukawa Hotel ★★★
"This is my second time here, and I'm completely satisfied with everything. The hospitality, in particular, is exceptional, making it my number one hotel to stay at again!"
Grand Park Otaru ★★★★
"Nice view and nice room"
AQUAMARINE ★★★★
Hotel Sonia Otaru ★★★★
"Strategic location, overall satisfied with the cleanliness. Room size is acceptable. Value for money I guess."

Otaru Asari Classe Hotel
"Very nice hotel with good view and good facilities. The meals included are also very nice."
Hotel Neu Schloss Otaru
"Hotel with a great view but slightly further away from town. Slightly dated."
Otaru Asarigawa Onsen Hotel Musashitei
"Overall good. The breakfast is rich and recommended. Remember to book the hotel free bus in advance. It runs once a day at 9:30 in the morning to Otaru JR Station, which is very convenient. But I suggest that the first floor hot spring ♨️ would be more perfect if it provided facial cleanser, moisturizing water and body lotion."
Otaru Retreat Kuramure by Onko Chishin
"Great hotel and great staff"
Ginrinsou
"My 3-year-old child and I are from Hong Kong. This is our first time staying here, and we were pleasantly surprised by how friendly all the staff are. The restaurant dishes are very fresh, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. The private hot spring in the room is incredibly comfortable. We had a wonderful night with our child."
Asarigawa Onsen Hotel
"The air in the hotel smells bad."
Tabist Kaihourou Otaru
"Google Maps took us to a different, impassable route. There were no staff to assist with luggage when getting in and out of the car during heavy snowfall. Having large suitcases would be quite difficult. The hotel entrance was only slightly cleared of snow, making it hard to drag luggage. However, the room was large and spacious with a great view."
Otaru Geihinkan
"I really liked the private and peaceful atmosphere. I'd definitely come back if I have the chance."
Hokkaido Zhu Jin Villa
"I contacted the store manager Richard by email when I booked the room. We arrived in Otaru after 4:30 pm. With Richard's remote guidance, we adjusted our itinerary, gained time, visited Tengu Mountain efficiently and satisfactorily, and took the last bus to the B&B. At that time, I had already had a good impression of Shukujin Villa before I checked in. After arriving, the room was clean and tidy, the tatami mattress was soft and comfortable, and the living room was bright and spacious, which allowed us to have a comfortable space to chat and drink tea. This made me fully realize how good it is to travel with multiple people and rent a villa! Moreover, each bedroom is equipped with an independent bathroom, which is very rare and an important consideration for me to compare prices when booking a room. It is especially important for our family with children. If I go to Otaru again, this will be the only choice for me and my friends."
Alphabed Inn Otaru Ekimae
"Good!"
The Stay Yuki
"The spacious family room was very clean, and I slept soundly until morning. It comfortably fit 6 adults, including junior high school students and older. However, I was told there would be space for 3 cars in the parking lot, but there were already 3 sedans parked there, so it wasn't possible. Even if it were empty, the extremely steep slope and narrow space would require considerable skill to park (TT). We ended up parking in a lot about a 5-6 minute walk away, which cost 600 yen for a maximum of 12 hours. The bathroom is located straight ahead from the entrance, and there's no changing area, so it would have been reassuring to have a partition or space for towels. Also, there are no curtains on the kitchen window immediately above, which required some care."
Pension Shadow Classe
"only smoking rooms, old furniture, no lift, only twin beds, lots of insects, good value for budget travellers, spacious, easy to access ski resorts"
Winkel Village
"I stayed at a condominium with an open-air bath for two nights. The facilities in the room, the hot spring, the fireplace, etc. were very good and comfortable. It was a 30-minute train ride from Sapporo and about 2,000 yen by taxi from Otaru Chikko, so the accommodation fee was reasonable and you could enjoy the beautiful scenery and natural hot springs very easily. However, perhaps because most guests came by car, or perhaps because they were not used to guests without cars, the walk from the reception desk to the condominium was a long way uphill, and I had to walk my large and heavy suitcase along the icy road, which was very difficult. (It even felt dangerous.) I bought some extra-large firewood (very heavy), but they told me to bring it myself, and although I asked them to bring it, I would say it would be five stars if they were a little more considerate to guests without cars. It's also typical of Hokkaido that the condominium does not have the minimum condiments or plastic wraps (charges apply). Also, I had to smile bitterly at the fact that there were many signs saying XX was prohibited, probably because some guests had bad manners, and I thought it was a bit of a waste considering the woody and nice atmosphere of the rooms."
Guesthouse Otaru Wanokaze
"This hotel is fantastic. It's very close to the Otaru Canal and the pedestrian street, and there's an onsen (hot spring) downstairs. The single room was ideal, and I would definitely stay here again if I have the chance."
