Outstanding
CCatherine Lee SYStaying at Chill Village was one of the most comforting and memorable parts of our trip. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt warm, peaceful, and welcoming — exactly what you hope for after a long day of travel. The design of the space is simple yet thoughtful, creating a sense of calm that makes you slow down and truly enjoy the moment. One of the things we appreciated most was how comfortable the accommodation was. The beds were cozy, the living area was spacious, and everything felt clean and well cared for. It didn’t feel like a hotel room — it felt like a real home. The quiet surroundings made it easy to rest well, and waking up to such a serene environment was incredibly refreshing. The kitchen was a big highlight for us. Being able to cook our own meals added so much warmth to the stay. Whether it was preparing a simple breakfast in the morning or enjoying a homemade dinner together, the kitchen was well-equipped and easy to use. Sharing meals in such a comfortable setting made the experience even more special, especially for families. Chill Village is the kind of place where you can truly relax without feeling rushed. It’s perfect for slowing down, spending quality time together, and enjoying simple moments — cooking, chatting, and resting in a cozy space. Everything about the stay felt thoughtful and guest-focused, making it easy to feel at ease. If you’re looking for a comfortable, self-cooking friendly, and peaceful place to stay, Chill Village is a wonderful choice. It’s not just accommodation — it’s a warm experience you’ll remember long after the trip ends.

GGuest UserWe booked an open-air private hot spring room, and it was incredibly comfortable to soak in the bath while it was snowing. The front desk had staff who spoke Chinese. As for the hotel's breakfast and dinner, well, they were very traditional Japanese. You might want to bring some extra food with you.

นักเดินทางอินโทรเวิร์ตThe accommodation is much better than I thought. We went in the winter and the snow was really thick. The villa has 2 floors. The ground floor has a kitchen, a dining area, and a backyard area. The upper floor is a bedroom with a large window for sleeping and watching the snow. If you go in the winter, you have to push your luggage in a cart yourself. It's fun. The atmosphere around the accommodation is good, but it's more suitable for people with cars because it's quite far from the city.

EEng YeowA Convenient and Comfortable Retreat There are 4 units in this building. One parking slot per unit is provided at the corner near unit 101. This apartment offers a truly practical and comfortable base for exploring the area. We really appreciated the thoughtful touches, like the basic utensils and cutlery for easy meal prep, and the welcome inclusion of instant slippers, toothbrushes, and toothpaste. The microwave was also super handy for quick snacks and reheats. Comfort is well-managed with one air-conditioner that kept the unit at a pleasant temperature throughout our stay. The washing machine was a huge plus, and we found the designated drying area right above it in the toilet very efficient. The separate dining table was also a nice touch, providing a comfortable space for meals. 2 dryers are outside the building. With two double beds, this unit is well-suited for small groups or families. We also enjoyed being able to link our Netflix account to the TV, which was great for unwinding in the evenings . Things to Note About the Location The apartment is located in a quiet neighborhood, offering a peaceful atmosphere. While there aren't many eateries directly nearby, there are two convenience stores within easy reach. Do keep in mind that local supermarkets tend to close around 7 PM, so plan accordingly for groceries. We found the area to be quite pleasant for getting around, with not many cars on the road. This makes it particularly fun to explore the town by bicycle, and there are several bicycle rental stores available if you're keen to pedal around.

GGuest UserThe environment here is great, with all the living functions, including an oven, microwave, washing machine, heater, and basic daily necessities. There are also plates and tableware. There is also space for parking outside. It is very comfortable. I highly recommend this accommodation. There is also a convenience store next to it where you can buy things, which is very convenient. I would like to visit here again!

YYanxiaojiuIt is a B&B run by ********* and speaks Chinese. Dinner and breakfast are charged separately. Dinner is 4,500 yen and breakfast is 1,500 yen. I went there once in autumn and winter, and the food has not changed. If you are staying consecutively or going there for the second time, it is recommended to inform the owner in advance, and they will update some dishes for you. The room is a bit old and the public bathroom on the first floor is not open. If you have a car at night, it’s very convenient to go to Shinei-no-oka to watch the stars!

LLiam JuiceThis was the best hotel of my trip! First, the good points: the shuttle service was super convenient. I just called them through Trip.com, and they picked me up at the Asahikawa JR Bus Stop #1 at 2 PM and took me directly to the hotel. The location is excellent – right next to Shirogane Blue Pond, and you can easily walk to the Blue River (Aoiike) in about half an hour without needing to join a tour. That walk along the Blue River was honestly my favorite part of the entire Japan trip, especially since I could go at my own pace, without crowds, and take as many photos as I wanted. After dinner, there was a shuttle to see the special light effects at the Blue Pond, which were pretty cool. Every day, I got to enjoy several true onsen baths, including outdoor ones. It was such a unique experience to be soaking in a hot spring while it was snowing heavily on my head! Finally, and most importantly, both the dinner and breakfast at the hotel were absolutely top-notch. They had unlimited fatty tuna, sukiyaki, beef, strawberries, tempura, and so much more, and everything tasted fantastic. I'd honestly go back to Biei just for this hotel again!

AAnonymous UserThe facilities are generally old. I think people might have different opinions on the facilities and cleanliness. I was a bit surprised that the room key and locker key were actual physical keys. The hot spring facilities are old, but they give a natural hot spring feel, so it's not bad. Breakfast is simple but offers a good variety of Japanese dishes. The location is great as it's right next to major tourist attractions. However, it's quite secluded with nothing around, and the way there isn't easy to find.

KKobe FukaeThe hotel description did not capture the situation enough. I was confused due to lack of room pictures. They also posted several listing for different rooms under different hotel name section. But this room is perfect for us. The location is a bit far (if you are not used to walking) from the station but it is only around 7-9 minutes walking. The surrounding area is a quiet neighborhood. The building is new and very clean. It was also warm inside even when the weather forecast said -14 celcius outside. The japanese food they served was also very good. They provided free coffee/tea and water in common area. They also let us lent their microwave. The bathroom is only one but very clean and comfy. The room has its own mini fridge, ac, and tv. If you are wondering where to stay in Biei, I definitely recommend this place.

GGUOWEI KUOThe hotel is located in the Sounkyo area of Daisetsuzan National Park, next to a national highway, about a 6-8 minute walk from the cable car station, which is a decent location. Sounkyo onsen hotels are generally expensive, so this hotel is suitable for travelers who don't have high expectations for room facilities (they are quite old, and the bathroom is small) and want a lower cost of accommodation. Advantages: The reception and restaurant staff are friendly; the accommodation is relatively quiet, with the sound of flowing water; the room size is acceptable. Areas for improvement: The room facilities are old, but the bathroom is as small as those in Japanese chain business hotels, the threshold is high and you have to be careful when stepping over it; the refrigerator still has beverage cans left by the previous guest, indicating that cleaning needs improvement.
