"Weekend prices without staffing or weekly services. The hotel is quite isolated, which is fine.  However, when there is no food service at your hotel - “we don’t do food at weekends” - it does leave you without options. What is more annoying is the fact that the hotel charges more - for rooms - at the weekend and provides less service.  The one member of staff who managed the front desk, the bar and any other customer need, was great, but the hotel was hugely understaffed. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone especially at the weekend."

"Immediately as you approach the hotel it's clear to see the building is bright and well maintained and once you set foot into the hotel you'll receive a warm welcome ,stress free check in and handed your room keys in a cheery and professional manner. The Reception area is tastefully decorated and furnished,cosy and comfortable and everywhere looks clean,fresh and well maintained . This was my first stay here ( is) but I know it's a very well established family run business of many years and has always maintained an excellent reputation whether you're a solo traveller, or as a couple or family, on business,work or visiting the area you'll not be disappointed by choosing to stay at the Ashwood Hotel. My room was ( is) very nicely decorated and the carpet looked extremely clean and in excellent order. The bed ( I booked a single ensuite suite room) was very comfortable and the bed linen was white, clean,fresh looking and smelling likewise. Indeed the room cannot be faulted it was all spotlessly clean,well maintained and spacious. The shower room also was ( is) kept in pristine condition. Plenty of choice of tea,coffee,hot chocolate sachets and milk in the welcome tray along with a clean and modern kettle. The tv too is of a good size and the remote in perfect working order and well kept. Handy bedside locker and light with another socket beside it to charge your phone or whatever . Nice desk,mirror and chair and clean drawers to store things away in. ,white double wardrobe with proper wooden coat hangers! Also there is an excellent, very informative book put together by the owner which gives lots of useful info about Preston and other very useful details should you require any further help re: local services and businesses. In fact the book is far better than that of any hotels I've seen anywhere,or at least it matches them! quiet here no noisy guests. I've booked breakfast which I will look forward to having in the morning and I'm sure it will be excellent. I certainly made the right choice in choosing Ashwood Hotel and have no hesitation in recommending it! Only wish I'd thought of this hotel on my previous visits ! It's certainly the Hotel I'd book again when I next return to Preston. C. Grant Feb 2024 ."

"well where do I start. this guest house is a gem. first the location down by the river 10 min walk from the railway station. whern you walk in you have a very large kitchen and lounge facing he river. free tea and coffee. next your room mine was on the first floor with side river view. the room was large with a double bed lots of power points a setee table and flat screen tv. the on suite shower room was great . free wifi.in the house. after i had been there about an hour the owners text to ask if everything was ok and did i require anything , which was a very nice touch. the room and house was spotless . overall a wonderful experiance,"

"Really nice hotel but a party was held downstairs that went on until 2am then spilled outside until 4am. Very poor sleep as a result and no response from hotel when contacted regarding. The hotel is part of the AFC Fylde football club who had just been promoted the day of my stay and were celebrating. Understandable BUT the hotel should have been closed to regular guests under the circumstances and the lack of response to the issue is exceptionally poor. Cannot recommend as a result."

Freshly cooked breakfast. Choice of hot Breakfast meal. Cereals, yogurts, jams, orange and apple juice and Croissants. Toast with cooked breakfast. En-suite room. Comfy bed. Tea and coffee in room. "So we stayed in the Holiday Inn Preston for 1 night so my review can only really be brief as we didn’t stay for long - but I will say what I found. The rooms were pretty nice with enough space and had tea and coffee and a tv- all expected so nothing special and beds were very comfy. The location was good as it was 15 munutes walk from the train station. Room service was available till 11pm which was great but we didn’t try anything. We ordered breakfast for an extra £20 and it was decent but nothing special- and I’ve had much better as the bacon wasn’t the best. However it did the job and had lots to offer so that was good and not gonna complain. This was double the cost of most nearby hotels so we expected a little more really , but all in all a decent stay and it was fine. Would come again"
