"**NEW OWNER – FORMERLY RAMADA INN** **PROS:** The hotel has a nice outdoor pool that is approximately 5½ feet deep. The continental breakfast also has a decent selection and is served from 6:30–9:30 a.m., including eggs, sausage, cereal, yogurt, and a waffle station. The beds were clean and comfortable to our liking. They were not ultra-firm, which we appreciated. However, the pillows were extremely soft and had very little filling, almost to the point of feeling like we were sleeping without a pillow. The receptionist was amicable, polite, and helpful. In fact, she was the main reason we ultimately decided not to leave the hotel and cancel our reservation. **CONS:** The pet policy is unclear, and the hotel’s pet-friendly status is questionable. The hotel website does not clearly outline all of the regulations and restrictions regarding traveling with a pet. At check-in, guests are required to sign a lengthy form containing additional rules. If you are arriving in a hurry, it is difficult to thoroughly read and understand everything before signing. One of the conditions is that the hotel may retain a $250 security deposit if any of the rules are violated. To avoid misunderstandings and potential disputes with guests, I think the hotel would benefit from clearly posting its complete pet policies online and making them available before booking. Alternatively, removing itself from pet-friendly hotel listings may be worth considering if the property has extensive restrictions. Another concern was the condition of the room. It felt as though guests traveling with pets were being assigned some of the more run-down rooms. Our room showed significant signs of wear and needed attention. The carbon monoxide detector was hanging from the ceiling, the bathtub had a crack, and the walls appeared to have been poorly painted and repeatedly patched. There were also a few spiders in various areas of the room, along with visible mold and mildew developing around the tub and adjoining wall. There also appeared to be a lack of staff coverage at times, particularly at the front desk and in the cafeteria. This made it difficult to find assistance when needed. Unfortunately, our experience with the owner was less positive. We found her manner to be unfriendly and lacking in customer-service skills. She also appeared to frequently monitor guests from the lobby, which made the atmosphere somewhat uncomfortable. Some interactions felt unnecessarily confrontational rather than welcoming. Overall, there are some positives to the property, particularly the pool, breakfast, comfortable beds, and the courteous receptionist. However, the condition of the room, unclear pet policies, limited staff availability, and our interactions with the owner made the stay feel more complicated than it needed to be."
