"Great place to stay in Trieste, there is no reception so keep that in mind. But the location is very central, quality of the room is nice. There is a kitchen where you can heat up things and store food in the fridge. There is also a washing machine in the ground floor which is OK but you will need to buy your own washing liquid."

📍 Corso Camillo Benso Conte di Cavour, 7, Trieste
★★★★ 8.9 (106 reviews)

"Great location, very close to train station and multiple bus stops nearby. Walkable to many touristy spots. Receptionists were very helpful, they also provide luggage storage. The only major downside is no aircon, and the room was much hotter than outside. We tried opening the windows on the first night and got bitten by mosquitoes, which was worse than being hot. The next day we got a fan, but still a bit too hot to sleep. Apart from that, overall it was a good spot"

"The hotel's location is truly very central. The dining room is simply breathtaking, and the breakfast is very good (typically Italian with cornetto and cappuccino). The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was simple but nicely furnished. The pictures on the walls were also great."

Tre Merli Beach Hotel Hotels in Trieste

Tre Merli Beach Hotel

"Despite requesting a quiet room away from the road more than a month in advance, I was assigned a room right next to the road. They told me that all the standard rooms faced the road, but they didn't provide me with this information before my arrival. From the room, the constant noise of traffic was audible even during the night. Additionally, there were continuous creaks in the wooden ceiling of the room. The room was dirty, with the toilet brush fallen and water spilled around the bathroom. Furthermore, there were ants on the sofa bed. While there was a coffee machine in the room, but they charged 2 euros for each capsule of Illy coffee. Such low-quality coffee should be complimentary. A sign on the refrigerator prohibited personal use. From the common terrace/solarium, you could hear the noise of the train, traffic, voices of neighbors, and sports activities from the nearby Circolo Marina Mercantile. Additionally, when it was windy, they refused to open the umbrellas, and there were no shaded areas. There was no beach; instead, there was only access to the water from a cement area with a ramp and a staircase, leading to an area of deep water with large rocks. In the afternoons, they asked us to fill out a paper with our breakfast preferences (how much of each food we wanted) for the next day. Nonetheless, the breakfast service was slow and disorganized. In my opinion, all of these issues are unacceptable for accommodation, especially considering the price of 328.40 euros for 2 nights."

"OK. You get what you paid for. And I was looking for an affordable accommodation near the cruise terminal. With a small trolley, it is pretty walkable, but with larger bags, it's better to take a taxi. They do not offer any food, but you can find everything around the corner, as the pedestrian shopping zone is within five minutes. Do not be surprised if you do not see a large lobby. Some apartments of a residential building are part of a complex. Everything is clean, but some modernisation of the furniture and a freshening of the colors would make it nicer. I was somewhat disappointed because the description mentioned that the room I booked should have a view. Even if I had a room with a sea view, it would be facing a square, and when you put your head out and turn to the right, you would see some water. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The reception is not occupied 24/7, but when you call, someone will come by within minutes and solve your problem, as if you did not know that the power supply is an obstrusive switch far away in the middle of the wall above a bed. Great to sleep and stay most of the time outside to discover the city."

"Although we had booked and paid for several nights in advance, we left after 1 night. Our booking process had not made us aware the B&B was three floors up with no elevator. We also did not have advance information that the doors were locked after 7:00 pm. After contacting the owner we were told she had tried to text and call us. But as foreign tourists we were not using the cell number she had for the booking. Nothing but a scolding from her. I wish others a better experience - perhaps young people with light luggage and an early planned arrival."

"Very near the train station, but a bit of a walk from Piazza della Unita d'Italia, and the area itself has a few restaurants. Good breakfast spread. Comfy bed and the bathroom has a bidet."

Savoia Excelsior Palace Trieste - Starhotels Collezione ★★★★
"The hotel is in a great location, just across from the marina and within walking distance of major attractions (except Miramare Castle). The family suite was large, but didn't offer a sea view (as the photos on Ctrip show). The hotel provided valet parking, which cost €34.40 a day. Upon check-out, I waited a full 20 minutes for my car, which must have been parked far from the hotel. Furthermore, the hotel management was disorganized. I didn't even have breakfast, but they charged me for it upon check-out. Fortunately, I caught it in time."

Urbanauts Studios Minelli ★★★
"We had a fantastic stay at the Urbanauts Minelli. The self-check-in process was seamless, and the room was incredibly stylish, clean, and thoughtfully designed. The location is perfect—tucked away in a charming area but just a short walk from all the main sights and great cafes. It truly felt like a boutique home away from home. Highly recommended!"
