Americas Best Value Inn New Paltz ★★
"Staff was very friendly. Beds are comfortable. Room was very clean. I would definitely stay again!"
Eastwind Hotel Oliverea Valley ★★
"We had a great time at Eastwind - The hotel is very new and well kept with an amazing design sense. It feels private, small and cozy. The food at the restaurant, while not cheap was delicious and very impressive for feeling so remote. Cocktails were great. The bar / restaurant has a magical feel. The staff is lovely - very accommodating and nice. The rooms feel really special - they are small, but are done super well. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. We are raving about our trip and are happy (stayed for one night), but I do think its worth nothing a few callouts / things I wish I might have known - The Lushna Suites shown on the website have a private forest view. There are 6 of these and at least 3 of them look inward onto the resort and onto the path to check in / restaurant... because it was cold this wasn't too bothersome but I was initially disappointed given the photo on the website. - The bathroom in the Lushna Suite is a small non-airtight glass door. If you are sharing the suite, there is essentially no privacy - The sauna takes a very long time to warm up. Probably long enough to wonder if it works. We did abandon this after 50 minutes of heating and it only reaching 115 degrees - The steps down from the sleeping loft are steep. Someone else mentioned this in a review, but wanted to confirm. definitely a little nerve-racking for the middle of the night. The bathroom also doesn't have a lot of storage space / hooks etc. But you can make use of the cubbies in the stairs. - the canvas shades are not blackout shades... and the lights on the grounds which make it feel super special are on all night long. So the sleeping nook did not get super dark."

"You will sweat for hours long before they have your room ready at 6 at night. I wouldn’t have paid half of what they charged me for a single night after having been there."

"I got a prenatal massage and realized afterward that I was not given the same amenities as a friend who also got a prenatal massage. This was surprising and also a huge disappointment since they were the same price ($280!!!). The massage service itself was fine but I did feel robbed of the experience, especially for the cost. Overall, the spa wasn’t the visit I had been expecting. The locker room is small and all of the lockers were taken so my friend and I had to share, leaving some of our belonging exposed on top of the lockers. There was only one (barely) working shower, so we took turns. There wasn’t a bag to put my wet bathing suit in, so I used two shower caps. The pool was nice but there were only 4 seating areas, so me and my pregnant friend sat on concrete benches until cushions opened up. The entire room was eerily quiet and echo-y so we barely spoke and I didn’t even want to breathe too loudly. The venue felt a bit too pretentious to actually be relaxing for me. I’d rather save a couple hundred bucks and somewhere more modest."
Howard Johnson by Wyndham Saugerties, NY
"I don’t normally write reviews, but this hotel needs some major improvements. I was there for a one night stay because I was attending a wedding nearby, and for the price, I immediately regretted it. We booked the room, to have a place to sleep at the end of the night, but after seeing a bug that resembled a bed bug crawling on my pillow, I did not get any sleep. I stayed up all night itching and feeling like I had bugs crawling on me. I thought it was paranoia. But, upon returning home, I had bites that started to itch and swell up on my forehead, legs and back. The room was not clean, and could use updating. There were obvious signs of mildew and water damage in the bathroom, stains on the walls, sheets and decorative bedding. If you appreciate a clean space, this is not it. Check-in and check- out was easy, and the staff was friendly enough for the limited interactions we had, but I would not consider staying at a Howard Johnson again."

Woodstock Way Hotel
Hotel Kinsley
New Paltz Way Hotel
"The New Paltz Way is an oasis in already bucolic Hudson Valley setting. Situated perfectly along side a nature bike and walking path, mere feet from the Wallkill river, nestled in the foothills of the storied Gunks mountain range. The hotel is immediately inviting, happy yellow and white flowers smiling down from a green roof as you step into the lobby, which more closely resembles the living room of your dreams. Eclectic antique chairs, quilted leather couches, the coziest faux fur love seat nook all have the immediate effect of making you instantly forget all cares and simply relax. The rooms are an extension of this cozy yet luxurious surrounding, each appointed with its very own record player and perfect collection of vintage vinyl. Not a detail too small is spared, from the white yeti bowl already filled with fresh water for our dog (yes, dogs are welcome), to the quality of light and spa like smell of the space. There are e bikes for exploring, the vibrant village center just steps from the front door and the most welcoming and lovely staff. The worst thing we can say about our stay is simply that we had to leave"

Elmrock Inn
"My husband and I did not stay here but had a private dining experience celebrating our anniversary. It was amazing. Chef Mark and his team prepared a special tasting menu just for us. We had 8 courses, all were fantastic. Our favorites: date wrapped in bacon with goat cheese, pureed soups of beet, roasted yellow tomatoes, butternut squash, chopped salad with Gorgonzola cheese, walnuts and granny smith apples, chicken made with apple cider, onions and carrots and pan seared salmon and tuna. Mark is a passionate, laid back, super talented, local chef that really is a pleasure to have wait on you. He presented each meal to us, climbing the stairs each time up and down from his basement kitchen. We also enjoyed local gin, wines and warm apple cider with spiced rum. It was a special meal cooked by a special man and we loved it. It was a truly memorable evening."
