"I had such a great stay in Tacheng, thanks to the hotel’s owner! When I planned my Yunnan trip and asked AI to help me (because of the lack of online information in English), and it recommended me to go to Tacheng to see the snub-nosed monkeys, little did I know that nothing could be done there without a car. Fellow travelers, just so you know: there are no bus stations nor taxis in Tacheng. I of course only realized it once I arrived. I felt dumb (no I do not have a car nor a driver), but the hotel’s owner was super kind and gave my friend and I free roundtrip rides, to the hotel and in the early morning to the Snub-nosed Monkey Park (that is closeby). Because the closest restaurant was 42 km away, we were given a generous and delicious dinner. (It was supposed to be 50 rmb but at the end the boss made it free.) I’m vegetarian and the boss accommodated me. The breakfast, that was included in the price, was also generous and delicious. As for the hotel, it was beautiful and comfortable. There’s a really nice living room (we were given free fruits and free beer!) and a really nice patio as well. The room was clean, the pillows were so soft and the shower was surprisingly techno. I slept very well, even though a rooster started to crow in the early morning (so remember to close the window before going to sleep). In the evening, we walked in the surroundings and I liked it so much, it was picturesque and peaceful. My stay in Tacheng could’ve been a nightmare but thanks to the hotel’s owner, I really enjoyed it (and I got to see the famous snub-nosed monkeys!) So I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel, where I didn’t expect so much kindness and generosity."

"After taking photos of Jinshan in the Meili Snow Mountain, I went to Yunnan Golden Monkey National Park to see the golden monkeys. When I was looking for a nearby hotel on Ctrip, I found the highest-rated Weixi Tianyu Tacheng Boutique Inn. The hotel is very close to the Golden Monkey National Park. I decided to give it a try. I checked into Weixi Tianyu Tacheng Boutique Inn with my mentality, and finally got a very good accommodation experience. Weixi Tianyu Tacheng Boutique Inn is located in Tacheng Town surrounded by green mountains. The geographical location and natural environment are very good. It can be seen that the hotel design is fresh and unique, and many details are very careful. The hotel building has both a courtyard garden landscape and a large rice field. With the rolling green hills, sitting on the balcony of the room facing the unique pastoral scenery, it is very relaxing and refreshing, which makes people forget to leave. I really want to stay here quietly for two more days. I feel that this is really a very good leisure vacation choice. The service staff at Tianyu Tacheng are very active and enthusiastic, and the service is timely and thoughtful. The room is spacious and has good facilities. The shower room and toilet are clean and easy to use. The view outside the restaurant window is picturesque. The dinner is delicious and not expensive. It is very cost-effective. The rice noodles and butter tea for breakfast also taste great. Since our itinerary was already scheduled, we were a little regretful that we could only stay one night and leave. I was very moved when I heard the boss of Gongbuludu from Tianyu Tacheng talk about the development history of Tianyu Tacheng and the grand plan to rebuild Tacheng. I sincerely hope to come here again in a while, facing the green rice fields and green mountains, it is so quiet. Stay for a few days, carefully experience the scenery of this otherworldly countryside and record the beautiful scenery in front of you. I hope to return to Tacheng in a few years to witness the magnificent achievements of the Jinsha River Hydropower Project and the happy life of the people of Tacheng after reconstruction."

"I want to write a detailed review of this guesthouse in Weixi. There were so few reviews that I was a little worried before booking. We arrived a bit late and hadn't eaten, so the owners quickly cooked some dishes for us: stir-fried pork with chili peppers and shredded potatoes—very home-style cooking, but incredibly delicious. We booked a room on the first floor, all made of solid wood with underfloor heating. The bedding was brand-name and very comfortable, and the bathroom had a smart toilet. The most unforgettable experience was the breakfast the next day, along with the beautiful little garden. I must say, it was the best yak butter tea I've ever had, along with roasted glutinous rice cakes with a hint of wheat flavor, and steamed buns made by the owner himself, all made with grains he grew himself. The eggs were also much more fragrant than those in the city. You can tell the owner puts their heart into the business; the flowers and plants in the courtyard were blooming beautifully even in winter. We originally planned to book Songtsam, but it was fully booked, so we stayed here. After visiting the suites upstairs, we felt this place offered excellent value for money. If I have the chance to come to Weixi again, I will definitely choose Yue Ting. Here are some pictures of the upstairs guest rooms; the window views are amazing, and you can even see the Bodhidharma Cave in the distance. This is Qibie Village in Weixi Township, a small village entirely inhabited by the Naxi people, worth slowing down and staying for a few days."

"This time, I brought my parents to see the Yunnan golden monkeys. Choosing to stay at their place was definitely the right decision. The courtyard was spacious, clean, and beautiful. The rooms did not disappoint either; the quality was excellent, even down to the toiletries. We booked two standard rooms, but because it was the off-season, the host upgraded us to a double room. The entire room had wooden elements, which was very stylish. They even had homemade welcome tea, with coffee and fruit tea to choose from—it tasted great! The host was incredibly warm and hospitable. After dinner, we chatted and drank tea with the host in the living room, having a very pleasant time. I fell asleep to the sound of the stream that night, washing away all my fatigue! The next morning, after seeing the Yunnan golden monkeys, the host had prepared a very hearty and authentic local breakfast—the cold chicken bean noodles were amazing! After breakfast, the host even took us to see the ancient ginkgo trees in the village. We were a bit rushed this time, otherwise, we could have stayed a few more days. It was truly comfortable. I will definitely come back next time to experience the slow pace of mountain life and various activities. I wish the host great success in their business!"

"The courtyard is right at the intersection leading to the Golden Monkey National Park. You can take a bus from Shangri-La and get off at the hotel entrance. It's truly beautiful here; falling asleep to the sound of the river was incredibly relaxing. The owner has a lovely little courtyard; I imagined how wonderful it would be to relax there, sipping coffee while gazing at the mountains, if I wasn't in a rush. The owner's wife also cooks delicious meals at reasonable prices. This morning, the owner drove me to the Golden Monkey National Park. "I used to hear my elders say that rammed earth houses were very comfortable when I was a child. They had good insulation, could return to the earth, and were environmentally friendly. I can only say that they are truly willing to spend money to ensure guests get a good night's sleep here – it's totally worth it! Restaurant (seats 30): ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Service The restaurant staff are all local villagers, and during meals, I experienced their thoughtfulness and hospitality.
