"We stayed at Whales Way twice on our trip - once in December and then on our way home. What a lovely place to stop over at. Benji and Annie (and Benji's father) go out of their way to make the stay very pleasant. The first room was the garden room at the back - nice garden view the road noise from the N2 was not too bad. The TV is not worth watching and wifi was a little weak at times. The stay in the loft room made up for the garden room stay. What an amazing view over the sea. Breakfast was amazing. Benji and his father together made it happen and it was delicious. All in all, a great overnight B&B or even if you are staying in Wilderness for a few days. Recommended."

"The Garden Route in South Africa's Western Cape is certainly one of the most beautiful regions in a country that is not short of wonderful landscapes. And Wilderness is one of the most beautiful places there. If your trip takes you there, then we can definitely recommend the Boardwalk Lodge for an overnight stay. Situated in a slightly elevated position and just a few minutes' walk from the beach, the rooms are individual cottages nestled in the greenery like chalets. The rooms are spacious and equipped with everything you need for a pleasant stay. All important areas, such as the charming breakfast room, can be reached via wooden stairs. The two owners, Chris and Melissa, have created a real gem in one of the most beautiful places in South Africa. And there's no doubt that we'll be returning here on our next visit to Wilderness. Set above and behind the Old Post House in its own little hidden-away spot - so peaceful and surrounded by greenery with a balcony overlooking the Vlei. "Wilderness is a beach paradise, and Dune Villa is one of the best bed and breakfast hotels we have stayed in on our visits there. James made a special point of welcoming us in a down to earth and practical way. Our room overlooked the beach, and was very well equipped with lots of wardrobe space. A bit of a descent ( 102 steps) to the sand but an easy gradient so no problem. Staff all very attentive and friendly. Pool could be a bit bigger, but there's always the sea to swim in! Excellent breakfast, can't think of anything to complain about. James does a great job."

Fairy lights and decor to feast the eyes on. Perfect place to go and chill out. Lovely friendly owners, super helpful and love life. Off the beaten track for those adventure seekers with an open mind and a sense of humour. Small touches are well noted, awesome coffee and excellent linen with the most comfortable bed ever! Remember you cannot drive your car though to the establishment, you have to walk to it, so could be a problem in the rain..."

Wilderness Beach Hotel
"This is a terrible hotel. Bad Smells, they fill the hotel with students and they were walking around at all hours of the morning, cockroaches in the bathrooms. I complained to the manager and he said they would give me a refund and when I left and contacted him he said they will not refund as they did not find cockroaches. My husband killed about 10 baby cockroaches in the bathroom and when i read other customer reviews there were MANY complaining about the same thing. So they still owe me the money. This hotel needs serious renovations- its not hotel standards any longer. They do not respond to emails and the manager Johan does not want to give me the owners details"
