The location and environment are too big, and the house feels very much, like the castle, I like it very much, the forest park is still worth a day, the hotel environment is first class, absolutely good value for money, the house is a little smaller, but the UK is the same
Nice hotel, warm winter and cool summer, no air conditioning (no air conditioning), the temperature difference between morning and evening is very big, pay attention to the increase of clothes, the town is very warm, it is too expensive to go to London train
Stayed here for a friend's wedding this weekend! Had an apartment for the night. Was very nice and well equipped even had tea, coffee and milk in the fridge which wasn't expected as self catering. Unfortunately didn't sleep very well as bedrooms where so hot. Couldn't get any aircon to work and not sure the rooms even had it in them. Then realised in the morning the towel radiator in the ensuites left on full heat presumably by housekeeping so that didn't help along with the hot weather. Alot of noise of people walking past the apartments in the early hours too and cars reving waking us up! Used the spa facilities in the morning and they were pretty unimpressive too...not very clean and could do with a refurb. Run down and didn't feel very clean and spa like which is a shame as was looking forward to a relaxing spa.
As I was not travelling by car, the hotel was a bit far from the Southampton railway station. The bus passing by the hotel only ran once an hour, which was a bit inconvenient. However, the decoration of the hotel completely met my requirements. It was a very historic British building with a swimming pool. Breakfast was served in an old British space, which was a very refreshing start to a new day.
The location of the Langstone is very good as were all of the staff and the breakfast, the only let down was the lack of cleanliness of our room.
Coffee mugs and glasses in the room were dirty, the horizontal surfaces dusty, the high and low corners of the room cobwebbed. The mirrors and windows unclean . The bathroom fittings etc were very tired and the bath bottom uninviting. The view of a fig tree was OK but the area around it unkempt. The beds, twin, though we had anticipated a double we’re clean and comfortable. The light above the mirror was not working.
We did ask for the room to be serviced after our first night, unfortunately only the beds were remade and the waste bin emptied. No cleaning attempted nor towels changed.
I do feel that there may be a lack of pride in the job from some of the staff but the cobwebs and dust were long standing.
Would we stay again , possibly, as on checking out we made the above comments and received apologies and a note for an upgrade for any next visit.
We had spent the previous night in a Premier Inn in Salisbury and the cleanliness there was was very good.
The accommodations were excellent, and the provided amenities were satisfactory. Considering the price point, the value exceeded our expectations. Overall, the experience was highly positive.
The room is well equipped, the spa quite a treat after a long day of travelling. Staff is friendly and helpful in general. My room got a power outage prabably due to a tripped circuit. The hotel sent help quickly, and offered to change my room to next door, after a few failed tries of restarting the power. The stay was a bit more eventful than normal but satisfactory all in all.
A lovely old hotel in the heart of the forest. Lyndhurst is a pretty village and well appointed. The breakfast at the hotel is good. The rooms smell fresh and nicely appointed. Parts of the hotel look a little tired, however the overall experience was very positive. The lady in the front desk really helped when something went wrong and something needed replacing.
It is exactly what it says on the tin! A budget hotel. We’re used to staying in Travelodge, Premier Inn and Holiday Inn but this was by far the most basic of them all.
Odd set up of bathroom facilities in room. Sink and mirror in the bedroom and then straight into the shower from the bedroom too, leading to a bit of a flood of water coming into the bedroom when getting in and out of the shower. Toilet was in a separate closet. Tight squeeze at the end of the bed to get to the other side.
Clean but small. Made our inside cruise cabin look massive in comparison.
Breakfast is included but it is a very basic continental offering. 3 cereals, bread for toasting, mini croissants and pain au chocolat, cheese, ham, jam and marmalade.

Very Good
The room was very satisfying Facilities: The most impressive thing was the Dyson hair dryer, capsule coffee machine, six capsule coffees, chocolate, bran biscuits Hygiene: Very hygienic Environment: Beautiful surroundings Service: Super friendly service, check-in in the early morning, everything was ready, signed in, and guided to the door of the room
Excellent stay, host was fantastic and showed us around whilst offering advice on local attractions. Room was exceptional, clean, well decorated and very comfortable. Superb all round.
Came here for our first wedding anniversary as got married here the year before. Beautiful setting. Food was lovely. Service also was spot on. My only concern would be some of the grounds could do with tidying up as looks a bit tired and neglected
GGuest UserNot recommended according to price around £90 for two nights, 30min away from Portsmouth. Bed covers whole room no space. Toilets downstairs.
Very friendly staff, nice hotel well decorated and great value. VIn a small town, south of Guildford , might be nicer in the summer, only visited in January. Dog friendly!
Great for an overnight before or after your cruise. Great location as it close to cruise port and town centre . Would definitely use Ibis again for our next visit. Plain and simple hotel , friendly staff on front desk to help .
I had an awesome stay at the Hampshire Court Hotel & Spa the pool was so beautiful and hot in the children's pool area. The only negative comment I would make is that the adults cannot use the steam room and sauna due to having children with you they are not allowed in the adult pool area. Apart from that a lovely hotel, rooms are spacious and breakfast is tasty and the staff are very accommodating and friendly. Would highly recommend this hotel to any one.
I had a great time at the Hotel and Spa - all of the facilities were clean and appealing. I loved the art deco feel and the spa was amazing - spacious and well maintained. All staff members that I encountered were pleasant and helpful. Great location for train station and town. My only suggestion would be to make the bar more appealing, perhaps subtle showing of some sports or entertainment - with so many other local pubs and bars there was nothing to keep me in the hotel bar.
Four of us stayed in two rooms for four night and the experience was very positive, with the hotel being cosy and situated in a prime location that was close to the high street and the Cathedral. Having stayed at this very same hotel when I was a student twenty years back, I have noted very little changes to the hotel itself as a structure and in the interior in the sense that it is relatively well maintained. In the meantime, the service was top notch and members of staff were always genuine and at hand to help.
