Mercure Villa Romanazzi Carducci Bari

Booked two deluxe rooms (one for single pax and the other for two pax) but was given two rooms of different sizes instead - not very impressed to say the least! Room decor has seen its better days to be honest! Plastic tables and chairs in the room for a 4-star property are pure cheapskates! Air conditioning still hasn’t been switched back on in late April when temperature already reaching low 20 Celsius! Had to stay and sleep in the room with window shut because of noisy disco noises nearby lasting beyond 2 am in the wee hours of Sunday morning ! Got ‘roasted and baked’ in the room with no ventilation as a result - not very ideal when covid is still raging! Still couldn’t understand why the hotel still insists on ‘no self-service’ for buffet breakfast - apparently in the name of covid! ‘Accidentally’ tried to pick up some breakfast items by myself on arrival as there was no sign on display stating the not-so-obvious ‘no self-service’ policy but was told off by one of 2 staff members on duty with plate being ‘snatched’ from my hands! The paradox being this practice caused long queue with only 2 staff members available to pick and dish out items for guests! Long queue and mass gathering of guests would not spread covid but picking up your own food with disinfected hands would apparently! Few ironic observations made though! The two specific staff members on food picking duty didn’t wear gloves at all when picking food with thongs for guests - is that even covid-safe??? One of the two members on that specific food picking duty went on to pick food for guests after clearing and cleaning up table with bare hands and then went over to do their food picking duty for other guests without washing or disinfecting their hands - covid safe I fear not??? If insisting on ‘no self-service’ policy, make sure you have sufficient staff to handle constant stream of guests coming in for breakfast! I was certainly being put off by either long queue or absent staff to help pick the food I wanted!

We found this baby accidentally I have to say we found very good. That kind boy who answered us at the phone and then welcomed us at our arrival. Extremely spacious room is very clean. Super breakfast made in the bar under Jerome with cappuccino and scream flirts 😋. Also very comfortable because the conventional parking 2 minutes walk is perfect. It will be our first choice when we come back to Bari. The only advice I give to the property is to have an additional eye on the maintenance and use of things in the room but really simple things. A greeting next time. Joseph from Milan marine
Hilton Garden Inn Lecce

The city is small and the location is convenient. The room is large and the balcony is very large. It's very comfortable. The city's water quality is relatively hard, and it's not recommended to drink the boiled water with a kettle. The hotel does not provide drinking water, you need to buy it yourself.
Grand Hotel Riviera - Cdshotels

This is without one of the best hotels we have stayed in. The point of difference about this hotel is the excellent customer service from all of the staff. The manager Simone is always present, talking to guests to ensure they are happy. He is a real gentleman. Also special mention to Alessandro on reception. Check is was quick and efficient but importantly everything was explained to us. The hotel is spotless throughout. The cleaning staff work tirelessly. Rooms are cleaned twice a day. Breakfast consists of pastries, fruits, cooked items, fresh breads, cereals and salads. Oh and fresh orange juice which is squeezed in front of you. Dinner is served a la carte and you get a starter, a main course, a second course and desert. You also can have antipasti at the start. Each course consists of either a fish, meat or vegetable dish. The food was excellent and authentic. The hotel has a great swimming pool with a life guard. Also has a terrace on the front overlooking the sea where you can sun bathe. Never had a problem with getting sun beds. The room we stayed in (324) was spacious and had a sea view. Super comfy bed, great shower and toiletries are provided. The hotel has a deal with a local beach at Gallipoli. We paid €22 for 2 beds and a parasol. Fantastic beach and free shuttle to and from the hotel. The hotel offers various excursions. We hired a car from a car rental just 2 mins up the road. I would recommend hiring a car to explore Puglia. Overall a wonderful stay at this fabulous hotel. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. We will definitely return. Grazie a tutti
Hotel Excelsior Bari

Great hotel in the heart of Bari. The train station is one step away from where you can travel anywhere. The staff is kind and helpful. The room is cultured, clean and comfortable. The restaurant is great although we only had breakfast. I don't give 5 points for one reason. The air conditioner in the room is very cold, it cannot be setup, we switched it to warmer and after a few seconds it returned to the original temperature. The location of the hotel is not in the best neighborhood. This massive city center with all its peculiarities. Like dirt, dog excrement on the street, graffiti and suspicious figures. However, the transport is very good from here to wherever you go.
Arryvo Hotel

Old Town
We initially had some hesitation about booking Hotel Arryvo; we were worried it might be a bit too young and lively for two soon to be oldies who value comfort and relative quiet! However, its location and convenient parking swung the decision and we decided to give it a go. From the moment we arrived to a large welcoming smile, from receptionist Federica, we realised we were not going to regret it and, once we'd established that there'd be no music played on the rooftop terrace next to our room, we knew we could look forward to a wonderful stay. The hotel was bright and clean and our room, although a bit small, was nicely furnished and very comfortable. Not sure why we had a blow up guitar, keyboard and microphone but, as I said, we might almost be considered oldies. Breakfast was good and, being served to order rather than by buffet, was always fresh. Tea was available by the pot and was probably the best I've ever tasted outside the UK or Ireland. A real bonus for us English! The bar seemed to be open for drinks - alcoholic or otherwise - anytime we wanted and the staff were unfailingly efficient and very pleasant, attentive and friendly. They coped well with my attempts at speaking Italian but all seemed proficient in English. The location of the hotel was excellent with easy access by car while having a back door that opened directly onto one the many winding pedestrian streets of the old part of the city. Porta Napoli is just a few yards away providing an excellent reference point for when you get lost in the narrow alleys of the old town. Parking was in dedicated space in a car park no more than a couple of minutes walk away. It's hard to find anything negative to say about hotel Arryvo - a kettle in the room might have been nice and, as I've already said, we found the room to be a little on the small side. Maybe a shortage of towel hooks and storage space in the bathroom but I'm really nit-picking now. The biggest plus point was undoubtedly the staff. All were outstanding in their friendly demeanour and willingness to be helpful at all times; those smiles go a long way! All in all we were extremely pleased with our choice of Hotel and won't hesitate to stay there again if and when we return to Lecce.

Olive Tree
4.3/525 Reviews
Really enjoyed my experience at the Olive Tree in comparison to the other hostels I have visited in Italy. The staff are really friendly and helpful with knowledge on day-trips away from Bari and how to use the public transportation to get to a location. What I found really nice is that the would talk you through what each place was like, rather than refering to a QR code which other hostels now seem to prefer. Beds, bathroom and kitchen was clean - and there was also a lovely terrace outside. Good location to access public transport as well as getting into Old and New Town.

Bari Palese
I never review anything on the internet, but I made a trip advisor account just to make sure people knew about how awful this place was. We booked this place in the hopes of getting a rustic, charming experience but what we got was far from that. We stayed here after getting off the ferry from Dubrovnik on our way to Napoli. This was by far the worst travel experience we’ve ever had. Location - 1/5 The first thing to note is that this hotel is NOT in Bari. There are no Ubers and the taxi into town costs €30 every time. You’re far from everything and it feels more like a neighborhood hotel not meant for travelers. Rooms - 2/5 The actual hotel is converted from a fort of some kind. Our room was in what used to be a closet and had cumbersome lock. The beds were insanely hard. Even with great AC (the one good thing here), we got very poor sleep because of the mattresses. The shower smelled weird and was tiny. I could barely move my arms in there to clean my body. The room we were stayed in was a faraday cage and blocked all cellular service AND the hotel’s Wi-Fi. Service - 0/5 The staff acted like they were doing you a favor when you asked them for anything. When we asked about the Wi-Fi situation, they told us there was nothing they could do and couldn’t switch rooms. That’s it. The staff seemed irritated every time we asked them to call us a taxi - remember there are no Ubers or other forms of transport nearby. If you’re used to any form of service at hotels don’t expect that here. Breakfast - 1/5 The breakfast was truly the saddest I’ve ever had anywhere. Just some cold, unappetizing meats and baked goods. Really low effort here. At least it was included in the price so there’s that to be thankful for. Overall, I would say this place is one to avoid if you want a good experience. We couldn’t get out of the place quickly enough. Bari itself is charming and well worth seeing. I would say you’re better off staying at a hostel in the actual city over this terrible hotel. This hotel gave me a new low to compare every other place too.
